Those jack clamps are fantastic. As a female that loves to do woodworking and having had both shoulders replaced leaving me without the ability to raise my arms above my head, these are a game changer. This is a great invention.

    Love the project!
I recommend cutting the shelving depth back about 3/4" and using some 1x material to make the faces instead of the banding. Make the faces a little wider than the plywood and it really gives it a lot of extra strength!

That's a good alternative, especially for display shelves where you have that front strip slightly
higher to stop things from slipping off the shelf.

Pete thanks for the awesome videos! I'd like to throw my name out there for the jack clamps because I'm 25 and have been remodeling my own house for the last two and a half years now. My wife is expecting any time now with our first child and now that a lot of my remodel projects are wrapping up I'm wanting to get into doing more wood working and building stuff for our new little girl, but being a full time student now has cut my budget quite a bit from what it was and clamps are something that I'm actually lacking. I remodeled our nursery this summer knowing that we would need it do be done in November. Having amazing hard wood floors from the early 40's I decided to sand them down and refinish them, but because of that I had to rip out the old closet shelving since they rested on the floor. This video was very inspirational and I can't wait to build the closet shelves for my wife and new little baby Nora!

As a woodworker and family handyman and the father to 3 young (all in their 20s) men, that are all starting their first households. I am always on call and in demand to fix or replace or build something in one or more households. I can honestly say "I promise to use the fire out of these Jack Clamps, if I should be so luck as to win them." Good luck to all that enter and thank Pete, Lowell and Brian for this opportunity for someone to win a set of these handy clamps.

Pete appreciate the video tutorial on "Closet Shelves"! You make it look so simple, but when you popped out those "JackClamps" I was impressed! I never knew these even existed and so a shout out to your friends who introduced you to them. That being said, like many others I work by myself since my wife is not interested in wood projects only the product itself when finished, and my son is busy trying to get a life with much school work regarding his career. Therefore, yes working on my own these would be my 3rd, 4th etc.. helping hands. Thx for the opportunity!

Great video!! Getting ready to build organizers for 3 closets, one a master (plus building a closet from scratch and then another set of organizers) once I have my baby (#4!! But I can't lift or stain until then, unfortunately). I had no idea jack clamps even existed!!! Those are so awesome, they would come in super handy for 4 closets as well as a ton of other projects like my desire to build cabinets for my garage!! Most of my projects are done while hubby is at work, while I have at least 1 child at home with me so the jack clamps would be such a huge help!!!

My wife and I do projects together most of the time. However, being in the Army National Guard I am away from home for weekends and at least 2-3 weeks every year. Those jack clamps would definitely come in handy for my wife while I am away and she is putting up or making cabinets or for when she just needs "one more clamp".

I did not know that JackClamps existed. A set will work well for my closet project as well as a large number of shelves I will be making for the basement. I also have some use for the JackClamps when working on a B-17 this winter.
