The Lemon Page⎢My Coloring Thought Process/Adult Coloring Tutorial⎢Worlds of Wonder, Johanna Basford

- In this "tutorial," I share my thought process as I color the lemon and flowers page in Johanna Basford's newest coloring book, Worlds of Wonder. I am a mix of orderly (start backgrounds early!) and seat-of-the-pants (picking pencils as I go). You won't see me ever "finish" one object before moving on to a bare white space. I tend to add an equal number of layers across the whole page at a time, while making decisions to build contrast and interest.

Thank you for including a written pallet for those who chose to colour along. To have all supplies ready is much better than searching and colouring every time you change a pencil.
Stunning page and I loved to hear your thought process and tips. I also love that you used Prismacolors and gave specific color names. I feel like I've had an art class. Thank you!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
That's so true! I just said in my comment, you need to be a teacher. 😄❤👍👋
I too love hearing your thought processes and how the colors came together.
I like how you put it together. Very pretty..
This is my favorite version of coloring this page! Would love to see more of your tutorials! Thanks for sharing!
High praise! Thank you!
It's absolutely stunning! 😊 ❤ 👍. You're work on shading, different colors you use. Most won't even try, to scared of screwing up the picture. I absolutely love it! The lemons stand out! Which basically there supposed to. But everything else just blends all right together. You should be teaching! You have a gift that most of us dream about having when it comes to really doing great coloring in the adult coloring world. I'm getting a message to my teacher, and having her take a look at your work. I'll be back with some questions here in a few! 😊 ❤! 👋 👋
Thank you for the kind words! Keep in mind that I’m completely self-taught, so if your teacher says something different than I do, they’re probably right!
I'm so glad that you are back! This is really pretty.
Excellent lesson, thank you for improving my pictures, your process and descriptions help me understand why your pictures are so lovely. My colouring is improving thanks to you,and becoming less flat which makes it more enjoyable to do.

Super! It was helpful to learn about your approach - especially the way you are adjusting your color selections throughout the process. Seeing a sped up version with the voice over was just enough information. Thanks for sharing!
