- In this week's guitar lesson, you'll learn how to play a solo ragtime acoustic blues composition (no jam track required). Each lick will be explained and related back to familiar chord positions.

Another powerhouse of a lesson from Brian, and I aint even looked at the second half yet. So much brilliant song theory here. If Brian doesn't make you a far better guitarist within six months, and hasn't got you on a path, that you can yourself see, to true musicianship, then you'll know you need to give up. The subscription is an all-time no-brainer my friends.
Love the “play-by-yourself” lessons, especially blues.
Love this style ragtime guitar, and the play by yourself lessons are the best! Thanks for sharing!
"Where's the nearest E? We gotta do E stuff now...." 😊😆Totally love your unique teaching style Brian, it's genius.
Probably my favourite lesson so far!!! Awesome tune. Fantastic job Brian
Tour teaching method is one of the most effective I've found on UA-cam. Great content. Thanks!
Brian ,You're the first person I have paid complete attention to. Love this lesson
Lots of vinyl back there bro. Thanks for the lesson!
Another great lesson - I also hear Stardust in there somewhere.
Been working on Saslow Rag Picking song. This lesson is certainly useful to me at this juncture. Thanks. Love your lessons and teaching style.
A great lesson. Thanks so much, I love this play by yourself stuff.
Do love a bit of ragtime. Great number - straight into my favourites. Thank you, Brian!
Love these ragtime pieces Brian.
You have changed my life 😂
Beautiful stuff, Brian.
Many thanks.
this one got me to finally sing up for the paid yearly membership. and wow- the tools for learning via the tab are amazing. best $89 spent on musical stuff ever. you are the only person i have found who ties songs to chord shapes, scales, notes and a bit of theory in a meaningful way-- reinforcing things from previous lessons over and over again till even I know that's a 3rd inversion! thank you.
🙏thank you
So I joined your website recently. I have been practicing arpeggios and scales for two years. My son skied me, “when are you going to learn some songs?” Thanks to you, I am now not only getting the theory which I love, but actually learning to play songs as well. After all, that’s what it’s all about right? Thank you for doing this.
Fantastic, really. Thank you!
Love it thanks
Real nice! Thanks Brian,
Thank you Brian ❤️🎸🎯
Great lesson!
Great lesson
Really great pickin
Great stuff
Love it ❤ 🇨🇦
Perfect tune to get hooked on this weekend! Thank you, Brian! ♪💕
Love this sound. Kind of surprising that the 1 4 5 blues became the default 'blues sound' when this style is richer, technically and harmonically. But I suppose 'simplicity' is the easy answer.
As always, Your videos are so inspiring!!!! Thanks a Lot!!!!! A question, I want to dive in deeply in Ragtime blues, could You please recommend me some guitar players to listen?
Blind Blake, Woody Mann are 2 - there are lots of great ragtime piano players - Scott Joplin probably most famous
@@activemelody thank You Brian
❤❤❤
Curious about the gauge and brand of strings you use for your acoustic guitars. Could you let me know. Thanks.
D’Addario 12 gauge (EJ16)
how often do you change your strings? when is it time?
I let them go until they start sounding flat. I hate to do it so sometimes I’ll go a year or more
wow that guitar is gorgeous, what model is it ?
Gibson J-45
An original Vintage J-45? Sure looks like one. Wow!
@@ovivan79 1955
Stunning guitar. Sounds great in your hands.@@activemelody
Wow. I can't believe you are playing that with a pick. I thought I had to learn fingerstyle.
That guitar looks similar to the one Groucho played in Duck Soup.
Groucho played a Gibson L-5
As an acclaimed and down to earth lecturer in guitar I'm not impressed
and yet for months you continue to leave comments like this on my UA-cam videos. Just stop watching them then 😂
