I wish Mary Flower had her own channel because she is a real champion of this guitar style. Thanks for the video.
birdie399, she does! It’s under “TheGibsongal”. She doesn’t post all that often, but does have some videos up. She also has a Facebook page, where she’s more active these days.
@@jtoddbrown Thanks for the message.
@@jtoddbrown Thanks from another Todd!
Agreed
There's just something about ragtime . That's why everyone loves it. Very nice lesson
Thanks Mary.....dug my picks out today and restrung my picking guitar. It was a pleasure to learn this song. I'm looking around for more of you stuff...thanks once again! Subscribed
I have been a finger picker for years but that first measure is one of the hardest things I have learned, just want to break that simple alternating bass. Tab was a life saver.
Am the same took 4 straight hours to learn the g pattern but flying of my fingers as a was used to alternate bass but real hard mary is outstanding so was the tab
Omg such an "easy introduction, haha only took my 5 days of non stop playing to get there. But literally this video really helped me get my basspicking get way more solid. I am so greatful to Mary. I actually bought a VHS of hers when I first bought a guitar when I was 18, it really put me on the path to loving guitar.
Mary i thank you so mutch picked great for years tryed rag year after year failed just found you and in my opinion (with 20 years acoustic picking) you are by far the best living rag player av seen the tab was excellent broke the door wide open for me ! i picked my dads old guitar up 20 years ago to play exactly like this always failed am a great player but rag was beyond my timing until i found you and the tab thank chris Fitzharris greenock Scotland
Absolutely beautiful Mary, you make it look easy, but it's not easy to play ragtime guitar, as any guitar player will agree, keep them coming Mary, I'm gonna try this lovely tune, thk you ❤

I play finger style delta blues but have always wanted to play ragtime, which seemed scary stuff. This has got me started. So thanks very much for the lesson.
Thank you for your tutorial. I enjoyed learning from it, my first Rag…
What a lovely piece.
Wow Mary that was awesome. The levels to playing this stuff always amazes me and it’s often the picking hand that does the work. Loved it at the end when you “flowered” it up. Ok I’ll get my coat lol.
Really enjoyed learning this. Thank you 🎉🎉
Excellent lesson, thank you Mary !

Your answer is addressed above.
Hahahahaha…it takes me ages to learn the pinchy bits but it is fun stuff to learn
how important is it for me to practice those hammer ons and offs do you reckon? I didnt notice you were doing that until after a week of practicing, and I've been hard inputting the left hand placements
