I've been thinking about buying a fashion magazine specifically to use in collage, but haven't got around to it yet, mainly because I completely forget about it when I'm out! I see what you mean about the arm. The head/arm looks wrong because of the different proportions. The head makes the arm look stunted, but it did look better with the new arm added. I like the way you did the text. I always have problems with my white gel pens too. I've got Arteza, Signo Uniball, and Sakura GellyRoll, and they all give up on me! I always end up going back to my white Posca pen. I've also found that the white gel pens don't look very opaque, in comparison to the Posca pens. lol Thank you Julia. Have you thought about just buying images from Mischief Circus. It's right at your fingertips. If you have a printer you don't even have to go out. Sometimes I put the images on a SD card and take it to Staples and use their printers (use up their ink) lol. I don't tend to wreck my gellyroll pens, but yes, that's not opaque enough. Posca wins for me!
Yes, I'll go check them out. I need to get some ink for my printer, it's almost out of black. No Staples or anything like that near me either, I'm quite rural, and have to get all my stuff online. I've been getting my arms and legs from women's clothing catalogs. My faces are is my face run through a photo booth app and then my clothing is food labels. I'm having the most difficulty coming up with quotes/sayings as I want to pair them with what Dollie is wearing. State visitor guides yield a lot of images for collaging too. And I know that Missouri has a free one that you can order through the mail. Have you purchased any of Dyan Reaveley's printed art doll sheets? Dyan Reaveley said in one of her videos that she lets her painted backgrounds cure for 24 hours before she applies any pen lines for the paint will seal the sharpie marker and "ruin" your ability to continue using it. So I gelli-printed a bunch of backgrounds and let them all dry thoroughly before using them.
I'm Canadian, so I don't know if I'd be able to get those items you speak of. I do have Dyan's collage sheets. ALL of them! lol Love them! I also get a lot of images from Mischief Circus (website).
@@DeniseLush Google "Order Missouri Tourist Guide" and there should be a form for you to fill out to receive one. Can't hurt to try. Don't you have tourist offices in your provinces? I have a friend who lived in Toronto and I was able to order a brochure from the shoe museum there. Crafty Hodges had some doll sheets she was offering for free on her channel. She 's taking a break for her husband passed away. I used some of them to create a doll for my positivity journal and some slim-line cards that I posted on my craft blog. And then as far as women's catalogs, I used a model from Gudrun Sjoden's catalog in one of my journals. Gudrun has a channel here on UA-cam. She's a Swedish designer who has a store in New York. I wish it was closer to me, and wish that I could have attended the clothing exhibit she had in a museum in Minnesota.

Love this page! I'm terrible at collaging but this has inspired me to give it another chance. Quick question...do you just print out the collections that you purchase on a thin computer paper or do you use a heavier cardstock? Thanks for this inspiration! Can't wait to see your new craft room!
Thanks so much Kelley. I know you can do it! Just play and have fun. Even keep it simple at first and add more as you get more comfortable. Look on Pinterest for inspiration. Teesha Moore has some great videos on the steps she does for doing her collage work. I don't do it like her. I do one page at a time. Her videos are under her husbands name Tracey though, for some reason. Have fun!!! Oh and I Just print them on regular printer paper.

Ive been cutting images my entire life and been into this style for a while i dont post things i do yet but i been watching crafty hodges love her so much but been watching her for over a year and i been wanting to purchase the collage sheets. How does that work exactly can i somehow put them all on a stick and take them to staples and print as many sheets as i want to? Do i have to have a computer to get them to a stick??
I love Crafty Hodges as well. I think she may be how I found out about Mischief Circus, which is where you go to purchase collage sheets. Well the ones we use anyway. www.mischiefcircus.com I do it from my computer. Doownload the images then copy them to a memory stick and take it to Staples to get it prints. If you don't have a computer and you're using your iPad, there are memory sticks you can buy for your device. Does that help at all?
