Thank you for this! I'm planning our trip for next year and my mom (senior citizen) wants to try this overnight train. This will definitely convince her to just don't (she forgets her age sometimes lol). I want to try this though but with my friends in some other trip.
Traveling by train is one of the worst experiences in VN. Trains in the country are noisy, dirty and inconvenient. The toilets are terrible. I would definitely never go by train even if it was free. Going by coach is better for me. And of course the best way is by air.
I have been watching your videos in preparation for a similar trip in the near future. I especially thank you for this one. I will be flying for sure now that I see what you went through. Hopefully the plane won't have been made in the 1960s. Keep up the great work.
Believe me, the 1st Class trains used to be worse(!), the toilet you had, is modern compared to the squat toilets with ice cubes(!?) they used to have... and annoying habits abroad is all part of the overall experience ;) Oh, and don't remove the lizards, they do eat the other bugs such as spiders, ants , mosquitos and cockroaches...
If you decide to go to Hue next, there are some tourist minibuses that goes back and forth from Hoi An to Hue, and vice versa. The buses will pick you up at your hotel in Hoi An, stop at Marble Mountain in Da Nang, over the Hai Van Pass with a stop to take in the view, stops at Lang Co Beach, and then a final stop at the historic Thanh ToanTile-roofed Bridge, and arrives at check-in time at your hotel in Hue. There is also another bus that goes the opposite way from Hue to Hoi An. Stops also may vary depending on the bus company you book. It was likely more expensive than the train. I think it was about $25 US when we did it, but was cheaper than a private car. Still, we got to do some sightseeing along the way with a guide, but we did miss out on experiencing more of the Vietnam train experience.
I would of had to say something to them ,so rude disrespectful, keep smiling Gecko scare me 😂 hoi an nice not much to do ,mountains and islands north Hanoi is beautiful Safe travels
i dont really recommend traveling by train in vietnam unless you are on a spend limit but if you would like to see the scenery and experience it then i’d recommend booking on the SE21 and SE22 trains! regardless, i hope everyone here have nice travels and i apologize for the roommates behavior. we may party hard and talk loud but we normally do it at the right time and place and are quiet and respectful otherwise. their behavior depicted in the video is very disrespectful even to vietnamese people if they were to see it
The sellers are rude. Don’t look at them shake your right hand side to side and say “Khong”. If they keep persisting I find speaking perfect English and sounding mildly annoyed drives them away.
be careful when booking these train for family with kids. We book 1 cabin with 4 beds last week they put us in four different cabin you can't get your money back.
Tôi cũng gặp trường hợp tương tự, nguyên nhân là không nói với họ về việc gia đình tôi muốn ở cùng một cabin. Rất may là đã thương lượng đổi chỗ được cho những hành khách khác.
@@jacknguyen6036 not talking about just the treatment but the overall energy of the video. i used to like some of thier vids but got turned off on this one. the sarcastic smiling all the time. seen too many of those types.
At the end you were still smiling. That shows what lovely people you are.
Thanks Peter 💜

You guy should try the SE21 train, they have rebranded as a highclass train few months ago, toilet and room are so much better than this train
That's the best experience and expression of all time of your videos heheh
With the variety of experience - the bad / so-so times help to make the good experiences even better.
That was one heck of a train ride. Can't believe your roommates had a party in your room, lol.

Ice cubes??? I’m so confused lol
@@JillandHannah what do you think I was? Not even sure if the ice cubes were meant to slowly melt and flush, either way... weird!
