Right now is a great time to visit! So many things are in english which makes it very easy to get around, and it's quite affordable. I spent around $500 on round trip tickets from California :)

any reason for choosing hiroshima over tokyo or osaka? looks very peaceful and not as packed.
its cool you went to mr.donut. supposedly mr donut was a usa donut chain but in 1990 they became dunkin donuts. but in japan the orginal mr donut stores still exist.

I actually did end up going to Tokyo and Osaka as well, along with several other cities! Spent nearly a month in Japan, so stay tuned for those videos too!
It's very peaceful out here and I def enjoyed the laid back vibes :)
Mr. Donut used to be in the US too? How cool, didn't know that! The strawberry donut was my favorite. The mochi texture is so chewy and delicious. A must try if you're ever in Asia, I've seen they have it in Taiwan too!

Yesterday I booked a hotel (actually the same place!) for 3 nights in onomichi and suddenly had doubts about if it was a good choice to stay in onomichi at all but oh boy how nice is your video! It took all my hesitations away! And what a great choice as for the music! Cheers from the Netherlands!

I'm so glad YT hit me with this video right now. I'm going to be there in ~2 weeks and I was already excited, but this vid just elevated it like 10x. I'm even gonna stay in the same exact hotel you did! Any recommendation on a spot with food & drink nearby that hotel, maybe even that's open late? Also, loved the backing track, I felt like I was in a meditation-like trance the whole time haha

i'm glad the algorithm was able to lead you to my video :) ! i'm so excited for you, visiting Onomichi was truly one of the best memories of my life. it has a real timeless quality and shifted my perspective on the world. i'm sure you will love it.
the hotel is so comfy! a very short walk from the hotel there's a cute izakaya that's open until 11pm, called Kushima maps.app.goo.gl/xkT877gSfb8w35Bf6 . check out the link in description for a list of all the places i recommend in Onomichi. have a great trip greg!

I’ve been to Onomichi city. Funky in a weird way. Looking to get an abandoned house on the islands. Your shot of Hiroshima depicted only as the peaceful sky above the clouds was very loaded. Even if not intentional…
    Bon Voyage 😀
