He is the greatest baseball player I've ever seen. He hit 72 homeruns. He would have hit 100 but the scary ass pitchers were too afraid to pitch to him. He was walked 200 times.
i got to see him live when i was growing up. he was an absolute monster. from 2001-2004, he batted .349 and averaged 52 home runs a season. his on base percentage for those 4 years was .559 with a .809 slugging. he was intentionally walked 284 times for an average of 71 a season.he averaged 138 runs and 124 rbis per 162 games. 4 straight mvp awards. not to mention that time he hit 73 home runs. or the time he walked 232 times. or had a .609 on base percentage. or the 1.4217 OPS. or the .8634 slugging. all 5 of those are single season records, all set within 4 years. what he did was freakish and i dont know if the mlb will ever see anything like it again. im glad i got to see it. the local news in NYC would even interrupt itself to show bonds live when he was on pace for his home run records.
During milestones like 3,000 hits, 300 400 500 600 super rare 700 career Home Runs, or career stolen bases you take the object of that milestone so he was a 40/40 play that is Elite hitting and running combination milestones
Took the base as a memory for being the 2nd player ever to have 40 homeruns and 40 steals. Its like when a player scores their first touchdown amd keep the ball.
The ability to steal a base is from observing the both the pitcher and catcher. Watching video highlights of Rickey Henderson would help out (SB: 1406).
There are many different pitches but to simplify it there are 2-3 kinds of pitches basically : a fastball(fast straight pitch), a breaking ball (a pitch that moves downwards or sideways) or an offspeed pitch(pitch that looks like a fastball at first and then drops used to fool hitters)
They built that stadium almost specifically to maximize his specific skill set. He was a left handed power pull hitter. He got his hips around faster that any batter in history leading him to be able to pull pitches located anywhere down the right field line
Keep it up and you will be an ESPN sports anchor lol ... and he took the base because it was a season/career milestone similar to getting the game ball
I'm a hardcore dodgers fan and I hate the giants 😠😡 But much respect to the greatest hitter in baseball history in my opinion Barry Bonds was a bad Motha F!!!??? Thanks for the video keep up the great work and always keep it 💯👉👌👊👏👍
He’s literally stealing the base lol no actually that was a major milestone and was only the second time someone had done that in MLB history. 40+ homeruns and 40+ stolen bases in a season. So he was taking it as a souvenir. A lot of players in the NFL keep the football from their first touchdown or a record breaking one. It’s a sports thing. Thanks for the content !
Their are about 13 types of pitches. Most pitchers have two or three go to pitches. The most common are: fast ball (self explanatory), curve ball (curves toward or away from the batter), change up (when you throw a slower pitch to mess up the batter's timing), sinker (ball starts at one level then drops significantly), and knuckle ball (low velocity pitch that has almost no rotation). Batters can sometimes identify the pitch by the rotation of the ball. It's a chess match between the pitcher and the batter. Batting .300 for a career (meaning you only get a hit 1 out of 3 at bats) is hall of fame level. Hitting .400 is almost unheard of (no one has hit .400 for an entire season in decades).
There is never a dumb question Allure! He took the base because he set a record with a 40 Home runs / 40 Steals in one season. Which might not sound like a big deal but generally someone who hits home runs is your bigger, stronger and slower player who mashes the ball while someone who steals a lot of bases is your smaller, more athletic utility player with speed. So to combined the both takes a special player and it's worth celebrating. It's like breaking the NBA record for points in a season and taking the ball home and framing it, or same in football etc. .
He's taking the base as a souvenir for a important milestone in which only four players have done in baseball history. The 40/40 club is when a player hits 40 homeruns and steal 40 bases in the same season. Only Jose Canseco, Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez and Alfonso Soriano are the only players to do it. Fun fact before the 1988 season started during spring training Jose Canseco said he was going to be the first one to it in that year because is nothing no one else had thought about doing. later after the season was over he won the American League MVP. The A's however didn't win the world series that year. They lost against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Bonds did have amazing hand eye cordination, but his pitch recognition was off the charts!!! Pitchers wanna keep the batter off balance & fool them so the batter never knows if a fastball or off-speed pitch is coming & Bonds knew the game so well, it wasn't very often he was fooled!!! I believe that was his greatest talent, yea, he was strong, great bat speed, but he almost never looked fooled!!! Very few batters have that specific talent, most of the time pitchers have a big edge!!!
He took the base because he was the second ever player to hit 40 plus homeruns and stole 40 plus bases in one season. In the history of MLB only four batters had done that. On 1988 Jose Canseco 42 HR 40 SB, on 1996 Barry Bonds 42 HR 40 SB, on 1998 Alex Rodriguez 42 HR 46 SB and on 2006 Alfonso Soriano 46 HR 41 SB.
beyond speed, stealing bases is very strategic. you have to watch the pitcher, take advantage of his windup (some are slower/longer than others, know who the catcher is and his arm strength, and what shift the defense is in. but honestly though it just takes speed. look up Rickey Henderson better known as the "Man of Steal"
She strait up said. “I know they hate when it’s his turn” lol I love it!!!!!!! Please pretty please react to gatti vs Ward trilogy highlights. Theee two guys fought (boxing) 3 times. And was a strait up war. If not it’s cool. I’m still here for the journey. I love watching your knowledge grow. In the world of sports. You do pick some great athletes to cover so I can’t complain.
Bonds took that base on stolen base as a piece of memorabilia or historic artifact or whatever you call it. Because it was a very rare thing. Similar to a football player keeping a football after they score a record touchdown to put in their trophy case at home. 40 Home Runs / 40 Steals is rare because you have to be both powerful and fast to do it. Most of the fast players lack the power and most of the powerful players lack the speed.
His Dad was Bobby Bonds and his Godfather is the great Willie Mays (The ‘Say Hey Kid’). There’s a park in Riverside, CA called Bobby Bonds Park (after Bobby, of course - from Riverside). I’m from Riverside, so I know all about the Bonds’, Reggie Miller (NBA Hall of Famer from Riverside) & Kawhi Leonard (NBA superstar from Riverside). 👍
You should check out Ricky Henderson he is the all time stolen base leader, and Justin Verlander is currently still playing and most likely going to be a hall of famer, one of the greatest pitchers of all time
You're getting warmer Mo (((42))) ! Oh and I almost forgot FloJo . Great react as always and since you're on baseball Reggie Jackson who was so good he once had a candy bar named after him
Let me give you a glimpse of fearful teams were with Bonds. Intentional Walks or Intentional Base on Balls are when the opposing team wishes to not pitch to a hitter and they allow them to go to first base. In 2004 Barry Bonds was Intentionally walked 120 times that season. Is that a lot do you ask? Well number 2 in history was Albert Pujols with 44 and last years leader the best player in the game right now Mike Trout was walked only 25 times. Teams did not want to pitch to him . Damn steroids.
Pitches : Fastball ,Curve ball ,Cutter , Sinker ,Slider ,Knuckle ball , Screwball ,Forkball , Spitter , Lob, and so many others with varying degrees of finger and seam placement . I'm sure fellow commenters will fill in the ones I haven't mentioned .
When he stole the base and picked it up off the ground to "take it," he was actually taking the base, because he broke a record of being the first person to hit 40 homeruns and also steal 40 bases. I guess he wanted to keep it as a reminder. Hope that helps. 😉
Little fun fact about Barry Bonds he took Steroids while he was playing along with others in the MLB and he hit 73 homeruns in a season in 2001 he was 36 on and for that he will most likely not be in Cooperstown in the MLB HOF his been on the ballot for 13 years and has two years left on the ballot but if he didn’t take steroids he would have been a hall of Famer anyway. The Steroids era was from the late 80s until the late 2000s But a list of players to react to Ken Griffey Jr Mark McGwire Sammy Sosa Rickey Henderson Miguel Cabrera Roger Clemens Pedro Martinez David Ortiz Alex Rodriguez Derek Jeter Pete rose Nolan Ryan Randy Johnson Justin Verlander Mike trout Jose Altuve Clayton Kershaw
There is a saying in Baseball, if you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying lol. Y’all should look up a book called ball 4 by Jim bouton. It’s very eye opening about the inner workings of baseball. Also a current book called Johnny anonymous is on par with it but it uncovers the under belly of the nfl.
Well, there are 30 Major League team and each team used about 20-25 pitchers throughout a season, soooo you are looking at about 600-700 pitchers each season. For a single hitter like Barry Bonds, I'm guessing he's facing about 200 pitchers in a single season.
The year that Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa , and Barry Bonds were all on the Home Run hitting streak was Incredible!! Barry Bonds was a pull hitter. The Splash Landing wall was his play ground. He hit the ball there more often than any other hitter. Unfortunately his career was tarnished with Performance Enhancing Drugs
"Their", not "His" career. It always kills me when he is the only one singled out when the PEDs come up in baseball. They ALL did it ESPECIALLY those others mentioned and publicly known. What people don't realize with Barry, he was winning all these awards well before the accusation scandals, the man was already becoming the best all around player in just a few seasons, a testament to his mentors; his father Bobby Bonds and God Father the great Willie Mays, all SF Giants legends.
Bonds is by far the best baseball player of all time. When you talk 5 tools, he exemplified them all to a t. All you need to know about him is the intentional walks that he drew. He was walked intentionally more than anyone else in baseball history, yet still managed to crush the few pitches that he actually saw. He’s baseball royalty, his dad was great in spite of being an alcoholic and his god dad was the say hey kid.
Honey it's call Intentional Walk not International Walk, which means the pitcher on purpose throwing him four ball to put him on base instead of challenge him to hit. This is a great indication of how pitchers in the league are feared of pitcher to Mr. Bonds because he was known as the most dangerous hitter in baseball history.
Fastest bat speed ever at 97 Miles per hour.only player with over 500 homeruns and 500 stolen bases in a career.its just sad that he took steroids and he might not ever make the hall of fame.he is the best player I have ever I have ever seen. Started watching baseball in 1991
Happy to see more baseball videos if your looking for more players try Derek Jeter, Cal Ripken Jr, Tony Gwynn, and Mike Trout as far as position players is a good start as for Pitchers try Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, Mariano Rivera, Pedro Martinez, and Greg Maddox... Hope you continue to do baseball though I watch all your reactions lmao
You are asking about stolen bases you should react to RICKEY HENDERSON. The greatest Stolen Base man in baseball history by far. Best leadoff hitter (batting 1st in the lineup of all time). In the top 5 in some very impressive all time records such as Runs Scored (I think he may be 1st in this) and Walks (up there with the greatest sluggers like Babe Ruth and Barry Bonds). Rickey Henderson was an incredible player that was in a league of his own and had the personality to match.
Towards the end of his career, pitchers just intentionally walked Bond to prevent home runs. An intentional walk is when you just throw 4 pitches way outside the strike zone and let the batter go to first base. Bonds has the record for most international walks in a season.
Thank you for doing baseball other baseball stars to react to would be Ken Griffey Jr. and for the best defensive highlights Ozzie Smith...Mike Trout, Derek Jeter
Well.... horse steroids will get you far. lol I'm joking. He was a Hall Of Famer before the steroids. He just wasn't putting up Playstation numbers. But he still was one of the best in the game. And even with the PEDs, nobody has ever become as dominant as he was in anything. I mean, Jose Canseco was the godfather of steroids and hit some bombs, but he couldn't carry Barry's jockstrap. Even as crushing as Mark McGwire was on steroids, he didn't become so dominant people would walk him with the bases loaded. lol It was definitely a surreal era. Just everybody remember what fueled the era. It's a mirage, to some extent, but it's a hell of an entertaining one.
If you think Barry Bonds 500 stolen bases are impressive check out Rickey Henderson 1,406 stolen bases and the next best is Lou Brock with 938. Rickey also stole 130 bases in a season which is also a record.
You asked why he took the base. The reason why he did that was cause 400 steals is iconic so they will replace it but let him take that base home so he can always remember his 400 stolen base
Back when Baseball was fun to watch. As soon as Baseball players stop taking steroids the game got boring to me. I used to love watching a Baseball player strike out and go into Roid Rage and break the bat over his knee then try to fight . haha Everybody back then was hitting home runs and breaking bats. There were so many Baseball players who were as big as football players or pro wrestlers back then.
Stealing a base isn't easy. I know it wasn't for me when I played baseball in school but it is all about timing and reading the other players because every good Pitcher pretends that he is not looking at you but he's watching you and waiting for you to run.
He is the greatest baseball player I've ever seen. He hit 72 homeruns. He would have hit 100 but the scary ass pitchers were too afraid to pitch to him. He was walked 200 times.

It's just insane period
Sucks that he did steroids I really wish we never knew or he just didn’t do them it sucks that he’s not in the hof
Barry was never found to have took PED's look it up
During milestones like 3,000 hits, 300 400 500 600 super rare 700 career Home Runs, or career stolen bases you take the object of that milestone so he was a 40/40 play that is Elite hitting and running combination milestones
@James Lakeman record books still got them, so go cry at home
love your videos you put time and consitaration to make them thankyou keep it up youll reach 1mil
He’s the best baseball player ever!!!!!!!! People say he used steroids but he never failed!!!!!! I repeat HES THE BEST BASEBALL PLAYER EVER.
Took the base as a memory for being the 2nd player ever to have 40 homeruns and 40 steals. Its like when a player scores their first touchdown amd keep the ball.
40homers and 40 steals is hard to do so he took the base because it's a record.... broke the Homerun record... love your reviews
best baseball player ever
The ability to steal a base is from observing the both the pitcher and catcher. Watching video highlights of Rickey Henderson would help out (SB: 1406).

Barry was a legend even before [alleged] steroids... Baseball’s GOAT!

Barry Bonds was genius, in MLB history's.

instead of retiring early he REFUSED to retire LOL. u right but funny how different their careers ended

Just everybody remember what fueled the era. It's a mirage, to some extent, but it's a hell of an entertaining one.
WILT CHAMBERLAIN!!
He took the base for the record
If you think Barry Bonds 500 stolen bases are impressive check out Rickey Henderson 1,406 stolen bases and the next best is Lou Brock with 938. Rickey also stole 130 bases in a season which is also a record.
You should do Terrell owens
I aggree
Imagine bonds playing at fenway park his whole career.. he woulda hit 1000 home runs
You asked why he took the base.
The reason why he did that was cause 400 steals is iconic so they will replace it but let him take that base home so he can always remember his 400 stolen base
Thank you
He took the base as a souvenir for being only the second player with 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases
In a single season*
You should do a Reggie Bush highlight mix
Do more nfl reactions particularly devin Hester or aj green
Aj green is weak
Fam really stole 400 Bases and 400 homers cuhhh was wild
oh lawd
Have to react to the pitcher’s foot the second it leaves the ground
Back when Baseball was fun to watch. As soon as Baseball players stop taking steroids the game got boring to me. I used to love watching a Baseball player strike out and go into Roid Rage and break the bat over his knee then try to fight . haha Everybody back then was hitting home runs and breaking bats. There were so many Baseball players who were as big as football players or pro wrestlers back then.
Wow sound intense
Hi allure 👋
A lot of players used steroids. And none of them were even close to as good as Barry Bonds. The GOAT.
You should react to Manny Machado highlights
Steven Gerrard is a must to react :)
You can steal the base and take it home with you, but only if you don't get caught
You have the best videos...if you're doing baseball, do Mark McGwire.
Barry was cool but I was a Atlanta Braves fan.....
If you notice, he looks twice as big when he went to San Francisco from Pittsburgh (steroids)
H~
Lol who wasn't on steroids then
Stealing a base isn't easy. I know it wasn't for me when I played baseball in school but it is all about timing and reading the other players because every good Pitcher pretends that he is not looking at you but he's watching you and waiting for you to run.
You have to do Ken Griffey Jr.!!!!🐐🐐🐐🐐
Griffey is on my page check it out
