How is rhythm doctor so underrated and under the radar in the rhythm game genera when A Dance of Fire and Ice is pretty well known? People please give this game the recognition it deserves.
That first sentence is very surprising to me, because I heard about RD months before ADOFAI. And actually, I didn't even hear about ADOFAI, I just happened to check 7th Beat Games' steam store page and I saw it.
@@UCK0OuOylVSOPMPuiq-U2jow Definitely has something to do with the "impressiveness" factor. Which is my frustration with rhythm games. No matter how much Rhythm Heaven proves that "minimal input" doesn't mean "easy" it's still not visually interesting enough to a lot of people and it makes me sad.
@@UCK0OuOylVSOPMPuiq-U2jow yeah i think thats the main limitation rhythm doctor has, its designed to have challenging but not insanely difficult levels, while in adofai you can make something much harder without it making the level bad. rhythm doctor has very strict rules, and normal levels work extremely well under them, but increasing the difficulty to extreme levels would result in cues becoming an absolute mess
OH MY GOODNESS YES!!! I can't believe that out of all of Act 5, my favourite track by far is the tutorial music. The way each section is looped and dynamically transitions into each other, how the dotted-quaver cross-rhythm contrasts with the freeze and burn snare beats, the way the lead synth has the parallel perfect fourths/fifths (not sure which) which conveys a sensation of a cavernous coldness, and _oh my goodness_ that drum cadence/fill that leads into each section is just _chef's kiss._ This mix definitely does it just-ice! :>

@@godlyvex5543 oh, no, the end is the tutorial for the night shift version of the freeze beats level, but it adds the sounds if you struggle on the tutorial for a bit

The drum cadence makes me think of a stadium (particularly football/soccer, in my case), where that kinda drum beats are pretty common. Fittingly, the mechanics are fully introduced with a baseball player (Also, love the naming scheme - Cole Brew=Cold Brew, Nicole Ting=Nicotine, Maximo Jonronero=Máximo Homerunnero, Max Homerunner in Spanish).

I think it's because of the fact that ADOFAI has a far higher difficulty ceiling than RD currently and thus it might look more impressive to viewers.
