It's been said that "everyone needs an Antoine" but what's been forgotten or not realised, is that everyone needs a Yuka too! Fantastic effort out there Yuka & congrats on making those jumps!
Way to face your fears, Eric! Great work. I know how frustrating it is being scared of something we know we have the skills to ride safely. Keep up the great work, Eric and Yuka!
I've watched you and Erics channels for years, and can Remember when his tires would rarely leave the ground, and now both you to have progressed soo much, sending some frightening stuff with determination and ease, you two are an inspiration to challenge myself on the trails, thanks!!🤘
"If Yuka can do it, you can do it!" That sounds like a perfect channel motto. Watching you certainly helps give me confidence as well! There's something to be said for watching a channel that ISNT a pro mountain biker getting through on skill built up over years, but instead someone who gets through on confidence and positive attitude, and absolutely sends CRAZY features! 👍
No no no just because you can do it doesn't mean anyone else can do it I'm not going to go ride my bike when my brakes are failing down a rock slab on a side of a mountain like she did..
@@danshilling4240 i guess Im not familiar with when she did that. I certainly dont recommend riding above your ability and definitely 100% dont mess around with safety equipment like brakes, helmets, and tires. However the stuff she did here was obviously within her ability, and within her husbands, the difference was that she had confidence and he didnt (at first).
@@JD-ub5ic she said in her video that she knew her brakes were acting weird and she felt that they were failing and still went down that slab of Rock she's extremely lucky
Another great video Yuka. You are officially "Yuka the Courageous." I often watch riders who are more skilled than you here on UA-cam. But I rarely watch ANY riders with more courage than you. This skill is very elite and one that most of us struggle with...even your own husband. Your warrior mentality inspires me in my own riding to be brave when I know that I have the skill. Thank you Yuka!
i live right by the bike park and i did the first two on a 26 inch hard tail that is two sises to small with 100 mill travel i am sad that i missed you
Absolutely! I was afraid of this feature in Delta called the gravity bowl with a decent lip/jump that sends you air born!! But I finally did it, now it has become easy for me 😀
Excellent progress you two! Sometimes a little stoke goes a long way to helping other people level up. I remember the first time I did a large drop (Angel Fire)... watched a few times... got towed in.. and then just did it. I wouldn't have done it without help! While I was ready skill wise, mentally I wasn't quite there. Good on you for serving as inspiration!
0:43 wow an og biking at grouse photo! Do you guys remember when that was? I worked there 9 years ago and even then it was a thing of the past, cool to see some evidence that it did, in fact, exist and have some regular people visiting! Typically all you find online about it is when they hosted a uci MTB race around 2001. Probably not that feasible in terms of getting footage, but I think a video about past BC bike parks could be quite interesting!
There is so much mental game to riding. I totally understand how your brain will need to Click before certain features. Stoked for Eric to have nailed those jumps! Sweet!
Awesome video!! Those jumps were always really hard to clear my first time as well, and I'm so glad that both of you were able to get them all in just one session, great job!
Hey Yuka! I love you and Eric’s channel! I don’t know if you know yet but the old Jarrod’s Place is gone and he reopened a new one in Summerville, GA. It’s shuttle access now. There are 3 Dbl Blacks, 3 Single Blacks, 3 Blues, 3 Greens so far. Check out the footage on UA-cam and please make a visit when you are back in the south!
I have seen the videos in new Jarrod’s place. It’s sad we haven’t conquered the all jumps in old Jarrod’s place but the new place looks very awesome✨ can’t wait to visit there again😁
Such a great channel concept! The skill vs bravery dynamic between you is really interesting. Well done both of you. I look forward to your next episode 👍👍 (ps when i say "skill vs bravery" i mean comparatively as you both clearly have these attributes in spades!)
Great video. You are an excellent story teller, Yuka. I always thought of you guys as an unstoppable force. It's inspirational to see seasoned riders overcome similar struggles. Makes me feel hopeful that I too will overcome the things that scare me.
Great to see Eric overcome his fears and achieve success on that jump line. Oddly enough, I find wooden lips easier to launch off of became they're solid and consistent unlike dirt lips which can vary based on weather conditions etc.
It's pretty cool that you guys were in anchorage. I live in anchorage and I bike the trail a lot. But it's been awhile. Pretty cool seeing you guys up here.
@@VanGirlYuka Yeah it has rained a lot this year. And hilltop is a really nice place to bike. I haven't got the chance to bike at the new bike park yet due to work. Such a good video! I still have a very low desire to do jumps, cause I broke my hand on a micro jump once (and then I couldn't ride for a long time, I didn't care about the pain)... but that's ok I can have fun doing other stuff on the bike...
So cool to see Alaska trails and Hilltop in a UA-cam channel! If you guys are still tripping around here, we need to get you some salmon to convince you to stay a while longer!
This is interesting to watch, because I have never thought about differentiating between wooden and dirt lips. Always thought that if the angle of the takeoff is good and the wood is sturdy then it just doesn't matter.
Probably it doesn't mater for many people. we just aren't used to them! I can't think of any jumps that has wooden lips in Whistler bike park (except Crankworks stunts) I kinda like them though...
Hi honey, thanks for mentioning my 106 attempts - TWICE. 😅
It’s very important. It took time to count your attempts 👍
🤣😂 as asian were specific and detailed its culture thing 😉
So glad that that Donkey Kong bear didn't throw a banana and u made to the next level.
I love that you guys film your experiences together - and win the mental battles together, too! You guys are awesome.
Lol
