I'm currently doing a similar build but I doubled down on using ice spear. From previous experience with manaforged arrow CoC I knew that the same spell will not share a cooldown between gems if you use cast on critical support in one setup and awakened cast on critical support in the other. Presumably this is because they count as entirely different sources but it is possible the % cooldown recovery rate on the awakened gem enables this. I wrote a larger comment about how I approached things differently on a sub 10 div budget, but it got very meandering so I just figured you'd care about the 2x spell part, assuming you weren't already familiar. Short version is very similar but went with crit chance tincture & ascendancy rather than scorch, replica dragonfang + extra aura, pierce from gloves instead of tree, no cluster jewel, lightning coil. Oh also a 2div forbidden flame/flesh option is Far Shot, as that now works for spells and has no downside. Doesn't appear to make ice spear have no spread though, sad about that.

1) because at that time it was cheap and gave more damage 2) can use any cold projectile skill gem that can use return (Freezing Pulse, Frostbolt) 3) avoid elemental ailment. You can play enable because we have too many hits, but they still freeze, the dangerous mod is reflected and can't leech because you can't use any skill if not have mana.

T17 is possible in some mod, and this not final version it's have potaintal to scale up. this is guild for craft sword essent unti have aspd or cri -> annulment untill have empy 2pre and 2 suf (1 suf if u have bot aspd + cri) -> craft "cant roll attack mod" + ex now u got 100% +1lv (in case u have 2 empy suffix u need to craft "3 Crafted" and "cant roll attack" to make suf full) -> remove craft and craft + "3 Crafted" + "2 supportgem" + aspd/cri (only craft +2 support if u got bot aspd and aspd in step one and warlord ex for gamble + 1 projectile)
It's hard to estimate the total cost because I crafted some items myself. I believe the core item is the sword, while the other gear consists of rare items with life and resistances. My sword crafting process cost me around 7 dy.
"Socketed Gems are supported by Level # Cast On Critical Strike" can be used with Socketed Gems only, which means can't be used with Icicle burst because it's not a socketed gem.
League start? That was 2 weeks ago. This build may not be possible next league, since it relies on a runesmith craft, so if you want to try it, do it before it's gone

Couldn’t do it last league and this league T11 is a bit too tough for me right now. Trying to get some currency but it’s been a challenge so far. maybe 0.25 s because the icicle burst has cd 0.5 s but we use the projectile return to make 1 trigger can trigger 2 times. That is why I think the average is 0.25(we can use reduce cd, but never try that).

u can use every cold projectile skill gem because we need to support the return to make Icicle burst more hits. I chose Ice Spear because it has cri multi and cri chance.

Not sure if i am misunderstanding your question but wiki says: "Cast on Critical Strike (commonly referred to as CoC) is a support gem that causes linked spells to trigger when the player critically strikes with a linked attack skill." When IB hits and crits, it will most likely freeze the enemy and when your ice spear hits the enemy it will trigger IB again due to the trigger condition which is simply: "Trigger this Skill when you Hit a Frozen Enemy" as per the wiki. The trigger condition on IB doesnt specify that it has to be an attack skill that hits the frozen enemy, simply that the enemy is frozen.. Overall very clever setup..
Why would it be a bug? Icicle Burst has been in the game for 6.5 yearsa now, and it has always been an attack and it has always been able to proc CoC...

The warden can freeze everything including the uber boss, don't worry about freezing if you are a warden.
@heronightmare yeah, I mean, I wanted to try this out on other classes but I think warden is the only one that can set it up :(
you have the inverted resis node on snowforged but unticking that adds 1m dps since youre lowering wih scorch maybe?
oh, I think removing that is better, I forgot we have 2 stacks of scorch-making monster resist minus.

for a higher investment sword do you think it would be good to get a shaper influ sword and roll for cast on crit support?

You can still built it using Cameria's Avarice. But the enchant on a two hander gives six sockets so play it while you can.

cool build, what's the purpose of frostbolt here? also how is your life above low life? master surgeon forbidden jewels?
I play lowlife for more spell damage, not above half of life. The frost bolt helps freeze the boss for the start loop and additional damage.

why lancing steel? why not a cold skill?
because lacing is too manny hits skill helps you easily stack hoarforst and trigger the fost bolt.

There are a few trigger skills in the game that are attacks too, so they can trigger COC if they have sockets.
