I remember watching this animation for the first time around 2009 or 2010. It remains one of the most beautiful and well-made animations on the web, with spectacular graphics and a very cool story. Pure masterpiece!
As a kid, i thank all of the moderators, blender makers and film makers. i started working with blender and i'm just modeling; but these animations are very very perfect.
When i was a kid, I remember i bought this cd and was so excited to watch it. I used my neighbour’s cd player because we disnt have any. And when i played it, it would always pause at the beginning and never ply again. I didnt even know it was only 10 min, thought it was a whole movie coz i bought it from street. It made me quite sad and now bout to watch this at the comfort of my own bed, in my phone. Sometimes we forget to be grateful. The things we have now, are the things that one day we wished to have. Alhamdolillah.
Well this video was uploaded 8 years ago so they probably didn't have those AI interpolation software we have now; the movie itself was made in 2008 and more likely that they just re-rendered it in 60fps and then uploaded as is (around the time UA-cam started accepting 60fps vids). If they animated it originally at 24 or 30 fps, they just have to use their built-in time adjustments to change it to 60 and let the program interpolate itself. It's a relatively straight forward process, not difficult but does take more time to render.
Me and my little brother used to watch this constantly on this old mp3 player we had, and we even learned the montage music on the piano because it was so fun and catchy. Years later, it came up in conversation, and out of curiosity, I looked up "bumny butterfly animation" and this was the first result. Showed it to my brother today and we laughed hysterically for several minutes. What a throwback.
I wonder how crappy it ran on that old mp3 player cuz my laptop can't run it very well and it's from 2009. Struggling to play it no matter what even 144p drops frames.

Very well-made and entertaining film! It reminds me of: Over The Hedge. The only thing I didn’t care for, was the fact that none of the creatures ever speaks a word. I hope maybe the creators will one day will continue working on this film, and turn it into something even better!
Probably because they saw him as dumb, and manipulatable, so he proved them wrong by making a complex array of traps to show how he is not what they think they can make him. That's my take on it.
Thank to the ad that showed this video, i miss this so much!! This was my favorite video when i was a kid, i always come back to this video just to watch it over and over again!! 😭😭❤❤
Found this through an ad, nice animation! I wonder who animated it! Whoever did has talent!👍 So the director was Sacha Goedegebure and the art director was Andreas Goralczyk, they seem pretty talented, I searched the former and they seem to have some credit to them!
Great film and the bun bun is so sweet and clever. This is how my bunny Csicsi looked like before, a wild cottontail rabbit is always looking more skinny and has longer limbs (not that long as hares) but Csicsi ate a lot and he couldn't jump or get up really good on the stairs and couldn't even clean himself. I started feeding him hay and water and now he's a sweet handsome little boy, he always binkies and jumps on the couch and loves playing.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Very well-made and entertaining film! It reminds me of: Over The Hedge. The only thing I didn’t care for, was the fact that none of the creatures ever speaks a word. I hope maybe the creators will one day will continue working on this film, and turn it into something even better!
Me too
Better than dreamworks. good job.
no
the animation was great, but the overall look isn't better than professional movies, because it was made with blender internal, and in 2008.
No.
liquidpotato365 So what about other scanline rendered animations released in 2008?
lol not even close
This cartoon is a reason why I started to use blender 3 years later than I could.
When I watch a 60 fps cartoon animation like this It feels like a videogame cutscene for me.
I have only one single question.. why those squirrels hated him?
Cuz hes fat
@@homeboisniff5767 sad
I know right 🙁
Probably because they saw him as dumb, and manipulatable, so he proved them wrong by making a complex array of traps to show how he is not what they think they can make him. That's my take on it.
Because he was protecting their preys, the butterflies.
⭐⭐ out of 5 "not violent enough, i wanted to see that flying squirrel get impaled I a going to teach myself blender so I can fix the ending"
Thank to the ad that showed this video, i miss this so much!! This was my favorite video when i was a kid, i always come back to this video just to watch it over and over again!! 😭😭❤❤
Found this through an ad, nice animation!
I wonder who animated it! Whoever did has talent!👍
So the director was Sacha Goedegebure and the art director was Andreas Goralczyk, they seem pretty talented, I searched the former and they seem to have some credit to them!
Every. Single. Video. Player. Screenshot. Always. Shows. This.
When I was a small kid this was my favourite animated movie... So happy to watch it again..... Thank you....🥹🥹🥹🥹
I thought this was a fever dream honestly
Isaac Alberda based on a true big chungus story!
Wow! Amazing short film! I really enjoyed watching this! Love the characters and story!
