    I know people have comp’d him to Herbert but he reminds me more of Josh Allen but a more accurate passer at this stage in his development

    You failed to mention how a lot of his deep throws are underthrown. I watched the Clemson and Duke footage as well as Caleb's highlights and I would put Caleb ahead of him. I'm not a fan of either and as a REDSKINS fan I prefer Daniels, but Caleb's pocket presence is insane. He's the best at avoiding the rush, RESETING, and delivering accurate throws downfield.

      Disagree. I'm redskins fan and I want Drake or Jayden. We cant go wrong with either guy. Drake Maye is the complete package at qb. Most passes are hard throws and on the money. You can hand pick bad throws by any qb. This guy is going to be a star on the next level.

    • @mpettaway97
      @mpettaway97 4 місяці тому

      @hahahaha147 it's a matter of selecting the QB who throws the least amount of bad passes. You can definitely go wrong with Drake. I watched his footwork and ball placement and the dude had more bad passes than Sam in college. We have a GM who actually watches tape so let's see what he decides.

      @@mpettaway97 You no nothing about her to evaluate qbs. I watch games and there is no doubt that Drake Maye is a top end passer. He makes a lot of quick reads and has great ball placement. He footwork is excellent. His arm strength is above average . He has the size a physical ability to be a star.

    • @mpettaway97
      @mpettaway97 4 місяці тому

      @hahahaha147 her is correct and you obviously do not know how to evaluate talent. If what you are saying were true, he would not have had a losing record in the last 5 games, he would have beaten out Williams and Daniels for the Heisman, and he would have beaten Howell's college record. Instead, he was 10th in Heisman voting, only threw 24TDs to 9INTs his last year, and would have easily thrown double digit interceptions if it weren't for his receivers winning the 50/50 battles even though they were wide open yet had to wait for his passes.

      @mpettaway97 dude he's the typical pocket passer that can be the franchise qb, he's perfect, he can make any throw and his flaws can certainly be fixed by some good coaching, he definitely has immense talent only a fool would only look at stats

    CJ Stroud has spoiled me. Watching this vs CJs highlights, it's like he's winding up like a baseball pitcher. I know he's not, but just compare it to the 75 yard bomb to Collins against the Colts...

      Agree, he seems to have some good tangibles but that slow motion wind up throw like a baseball like you said will be hard to change since that's what he's used to and throwing motions above anything else is the hardest to change for a QB. Foot work, surveying the field, etc are things a good coach can work on but that slow motion wind up might be his downfall.

    LOVE this channel and Content!!
    That said, Maye eval should have mentioned Trubisky along with Herbert as a comp. I get the Herbert upside, but Maye def had a bad year compared to 2022, and if you look at Mitch's final year, he had WAY BETTER numbers, overall in his final season. Which is scary, indeed.

      @@ManovSteelo yea man I saw someone in this comment section compare Maye to Josh Allen lol people are crazy. To me his high end comp is Eli Manning and low end Mason Rudolph and I’m leaning closer to Rudolph if you compare their college tape.

    • @ManovSteelo
      @ManovSteelo 3 місяці тому

      @@cjboyer4355 LOL -- Agreed on Josh Allen silliness; Josh Allen wasn't even Josh Allen coming out of Wyoming -- that dude has def made himself 1-of-1, for better or worse. If you're going to use the Rudolph comp, tho, why not just do Trubisky? Rudolph may be too generous here. I can see Eli, but without the Manning name, that means he's prolly out-the-league by end of Rookie deal. In the end, Jayden Daniels will be the best QB of the bunch, anyway -- and it won't even be close.

    • @cjboyer4355

      @@ManovSteelo Mitch was a cookie cutter accurate pocket QB with some athleticism coming out of UNC where Rudolph like Maye is a stronger arm QB who struggles with accuracy and consistency.
      Im not as high on Daniels he seems like your prototypical college dual threat who was decent but then became great when he had that LSU team around him. I wouldn’t mortgage my franchise future on him.
      To me Caleb has a chance to be top 5 in the league if he has his head on straight which is the one thing that concerns me with him. Pennix is my #2 his arm talent and ability to read a defense and get the ball out quick is with Caleb at the top of the class plus the benefit he will probably have of going to a better team at the end of the first round.
      JJ would probably be my third choice I just see him as a bridge starter/really good backup like his old coach Jim Harbough was.
      Everyone else i would pass on.

      Yes if you took the whole context of what I said it's that there are plenty of throws that he showcases good placement in tight windows away from the defense. Not that he never makes mistakes, which I discuss later in the video.
