Marie-Anne, I have just discovered your channel, and I am so grateful that you do what you do. You are a true inspiration to me, and you have reached me at a time when I needed it most. I have never commented on a UA-cam channel, but your impact on me has been so powerful that I feel compelled to let you know how much you have helped me. I am in my fifty-third year, and, as my skin has begun to sag and my belly has started to expand post menopause, I have become depressed, mourning for the body of my youth. I was always tall and thin. I loved clothes, and I looked good in pretty much everything. It is so much more challenging to feel stylish and pretty now! Your style, your confidence, your emphatic statements that "we (women over 50) are still here" have lifted my spirits. No matter what age we are, we all need a role model, and you are quickly becoming one for me. Thank you so much for doing what you do, for inspiring and revitalizing an aging--but still stylish (I hope!)--lady!
I would have loved to be tall and willowy but I’ve always been short with short legs 😟 I’m now in my late sixties. Through Marie-Anne’s (mainly) and similar You Tube channels, I’ve found a new lease of life and with careful choice of clothes and a bit of investment in accessories I am still happy looking in the mirror and facing the world outside. Don’t worry Jane, there are still plenty of good times to be had. Best wishes to you, Janice.
Thanks to you Marianne and thanks to the forthright woman you have inspired. I just bought three or four good basic pieces from a trendy shop near me which recycles and refurbishes their extremely expensive pieces…so that I can afford them. In so doing they are also running a program to teach sewing and tailoring skills to new immigrants. Now a great haircut, a few makeup experiments..
Thanks to you (and Justine), I have pared my wardrobe down to about 15 coat hangers. I now mix and match classic pieces that fit my body shape. My next item will be the perfect trench coat to last for the next 10+ years to bring it all together.
Wonderful video, thank you so much my dear Marie-Anne. I have been struggling lately with feeling worthy of looking after myself and this has made me feel much better. You are doing an amazing job.
I love how you style the outfits. I do have enough clothes to style like you do, ie the Breton tops, jeans and trench coat. You always look so classy and stylish ❤
Dear Marie-Anne, I appreciate that you encourage us to work with the clothes we already have in our wardrobe. There's nothing more sustainable. Some of my favorite spring staples are Trenchcoat and Ballet flats. So happy I can wear them again.
Love those outfits Marie-Anne. I’m currently looking for ways to still look nice every day even though I’m currently pregnant, and definitely not feeling myself all the time! I was raised with the same principals that you teach on dressing and I love all the outfits you share.
Absolutely adore all this, dear Marie-Anne! Always so glad to see you. Votre conseil est vraiment bien expliqué et utile. Vous êtes très chic comme toujours ❤
Wonderful outfits Marie-Anne, impossible for me to choose a number 1, but I am giving myself a pat on the back as you showcased the exact blouse I have purchased from “La Redoute” I have always adored navy and white so I am going to endeavour to obtain a sweater/cardigan and trousers in navy instead of the green outfit I was going to wear it with. Loved the post as always. Many thanks.
I bou8ght that H/M floral blouse when you recommended it in a previous video and where it to school with nice slacks, a skirt or nice jeans(on jean days), dress it up or down, and I love it! Thank you! Just ordered the cream crochet sweater, I love Mango.
Firstly, Marie Ann I hope you are safe in. Norman die, given all the strikes and protests. I love the outfits you have suggested for spring. They are so classic that I found most of these looks already in my closet. Thank you for all your valuable advice. ❤

Let’s see, I have a trench coat, dark jeans, blazers, & nice blouses. I could use a couple of nice T-shirts and shoes. I enjoy watching you, and your videos are well done! 💕
Marie-Anne, You Look wonderful, YES, You are a slightly androgyne Type, but the people, that wrote mean comments are just jealous, because You have the confidence, to make the very best of Yourself!!! I love Your personality, AND Your Style, even so I am ,petite' and with a heavy bust! Kindest regards
You look so so fabulous … my favorite inspiration .🎉 It has been a sad time … I feel like wearing nothing but black … I have no confidence and hope to get out of this feeling soon Your videos are so helpful
I have most of these things in my wardrobe except for those Chanelesque shoes which I adore ! I have just come in from work and wore navy jeans , navy merino round neck jumper with a pink striped shirt, but it’s too cold here today for my beloved striped t shirts and even my Louis Féraud trench which I’ve had years and love because it has a pink and orange floral lining ! So hopefully soon they will be out and I can enjoy a warmer walk along the Kent coast … but for now too cold and wet . Great video , I love this easy chic style , as it never looks as if I’ve tried too hard ! Enjoy Le weekend and thank you again x
@MarieAnneLecoeur I'm back to tell you I bought a nice striped button down shirt. I'm looking for the right trench coat and I've stopped wearing athletic shoes with everything. Who knows, where this could all lead?
Marie-Anne. I love your videos. I'm finally coming to Paris in May and am just bringing mix and match basics thatvI hope will make me look chic. Everything fits in a carry-on! Hope I run into you!
My outfits usually follow the 3 color rule which, I believe you've discussed in another video. I have many similar items to the ones you have shown. I do need a few blazers, though. My favorite is the black trouser suit with striped tee. I've worn some variation of that for the past 25 years! I update the details every so often, though, to remain on trend, but not trendy! Thank you!
I can replicate numbers 2 and 5 and reasonable facsimiles of 1 and 3. Number 4 would be in black instead of Navy. So much information and great outfit inspiration ❤
Beautiful presentation, Marie-Anne! We French Chic Ladies love to see these classic styles. I only wish my feet could tolerate those beautiful shoes, but I try to bring the focus to my face. I love the La Redoute and Mango blouses. Sometimes I feel my button downs and tee shirts are too masculine.
You’re first two outfits are go-to options for me all year round👌🏼 and loved the last look! I have a black silk midi skirt that would be stunning with a cream top/or sweater.
Love all the outfits. I have most of the pieces you are showing. Stripes are becoming my most loved items. Is linen a popular fabric in France? Your hair looks lovely today.
I still covet your beige Hogl heeled loafers, but they’re long gone, sadly. I bought the closest I could find, but they kill my feet (Naturalizer brand, they claim to be “Comfort Shoes”, but it’s one of the least comfortable brands out there). I never warmed up to light-wash jeans, I love the wash of yours, there, they’re on my To Buy list! As always, a terrific video, dear MA❤
Thankyou. I had a beautiful trench coat. Mother borrowed it when she when on a cruise. She left it on the ship because: " it didn't fit properly" to quote her. I never did get around to replacing it. The weather had been to warm lately - even in mid winter - to wear one.
Dear Ms Marie-Anne, So lovely to have you back; or at least, to see you this time (if I missed other videos lately?); your ideas are fabulous (and faisable!); the trench coat: a must! yes!!! I see that there are a lot of trousers in the ideas of French Classic Looks; is there more with shorter or maxi shirts (for everyday life?) Thank you for everything Ms Marie-Anne, you are always inspiring and so agreeable to listen to! helene :)
My last pair of platform sandals - fabulous, yellow patent Pradas - ended up on my best friend after I fell off them in the street 😂. Happily I can cope with cowboy ankle boots. Pointy toes also elongate, and are a nice contrast with straight or wide legs
@@MarieAnneLecoeur oh gosh, it’s very embarrassing. I lost my way, picked up 12 kgs, lost it now, thank goodness. I had no basics, no striped shirt, no trench coats, no belts, no navy pants, just saggy elastic baggy pants to hide in. I somehow never looked overly ridiculous but I was shockingly frumpy. I bought navy and red pants yesterday, a navy jacket and blue merino. Over the last 6 months I also purchased a striped tee shirt, it’s going to snow. I have spent a fortune on getting the basics 😇 I am back in business, I own a lily silk black trench, from other outlets, 4 belts, 6 new tees, 3 pure wool blazers, a red wool coat, black satin skirt, a white shirt, a long sleeve striped shirt, short sleeved merino knits, long sleeve merino and cashmere. I can’t talk about the shoes and bags. You helped me find me. I also love Gemma from Whattowear. It’s a small price to pay for my confidence and composure. These outfits are lovely! I own a trench coat just like the one you were holding. I also have a black, navy, and army green! I actually Never wear them, and I've been trying to figure out why? I know I won't be buying anymore. I realized that my city jumps from freezing to hot 🔥 pratically overnight; and I have these beautiful coats just hanging in my closet . Sometimes, we have to really focus on where we are.... lol!😮😊 I'm going to donate these lovely coats. I do so love the looks, especially No.1! Love your channel and the looks you create!
Bonjour Marie-Anne, I love all of these looks, but particularly the maxi skirt and top for a date night. What you say about dressing for one's body type and choosing colours that suit the individual are so much more useful than wearing Pantone's colour of the year! Thank you for your tip about Hobbs of London for a trench coat - I'm ordering one this week, and fingers crossed that it will fit. Merci.
Bonjour Marie Anne 🥰 Ton vidéo est très joli et très complet. 🎉❤ I would love to hear your French language more, at least in descriptions and expressions.🥰🥰🥰 Love all these outfits, but perhaps my favourite is La Soirée 😊 Very feminine and chic. I am in an ivory/ off-white mood now 😅. Still, Navy is my favourite as well. Yesterday bought online with great discount white shiny straight jeans. Hope they will fit me. 😢 Because I used to have a very slim waistline with a classic 30 cm difference between waistline and hips. Nasty menopause changed that, so buying jeans online is a very tricky thing, especially if they're high waisted. Mine are between high and mid-rise. Will see. Bon week-end à toi 🎉
I will be in Paris next week for a few days. I would love to buy a classic trench coat (single breasted as I am an apple). I will be staying at a hotel on Rue Lecluse. Can you recommend a store where I might find one? Or would shopping at Galeries Lafayette be my best option? Merci.
I've always wanted a trench coat, the only reason I don't have one yet is because I live in all year around hot climate. (Although I do have leather jackets that I only wear indoors , ha, ha. or when I travel to cooler placer) All of my trousers are long trousers (on purpose, as i'm short) however I will have to het some to wear with sneakers or lower heels. Last year I found my most favorite jeans and kept them long like usual but I loved them so much that I went back later to see If i could find another pair (and did!!!) to tailor short. I do need to buy more trousers. I like high-waisted and wide-leg. Love those boots! ,out of my shoes are platform to wear with my long trousers to make me look taller.
Hallo Marie-Anne! I have nearly all the outfits that you showed us. I love them very much! Do you think that I can wear also a maxi skirt, because I am not so tall. I love to see your videos. Many greetings Elisabeth 🇦🇹
I have a question for any thoughts. I am overweight and have a large tummy area. I have had to take a lot of steroids. I love stylish dresses but if pants are needed I have stretch pants. They do age you. I try to dress them up with over tops, stylish shoes and bags etc. But in the end once a stretch pant always a stretch pants. Would I be better to simply not wear them especially out and stick to cute dresses or do u think they can be disguised.
You really have influenced my thrifting. I can do all the outfits from my closet except for the monochromatic navy. Those boots are not ever going to work on my 75 year old feet. 🤓
I have almost all of the items. I lack the heels. I have 3 trenchcoats. Have had a beige one & green one forever, but this winter I found a high-end pink one at a consignment store for about $75. I know it retails for around $600. I really don't like pink, but decided to buy it mainly for spring. I need some new trousers. Mine have just been worn too much. My red, green, and beige pairs are okay, but the black, navy, and gray pairs are dying.
Does anyone know where to get a white, frilled-collared and -cuffed, shirt in silk? The only ones I’ve seen are cotton, and I’m trying to buy fewer items that need ironing. They tend to languish in my laundry room waiting to be ironed, because it’s too hot to iron where I live for half the year, despite a window AC unit and fan. (All my extant cotton and linen ones are ironed and ready to go for spring and summer). Thanks, friends - any friend of Marie-Anne’s is a friend of mine, and don’t we all just love her?❤
These are look chic but I look ill in dark navy and black. I know I look better in cream brown red blue certain greens but there is never the choice in these colours like there is in navy grey and black.
I feel your pain! Brown is a much better colour for my complexion, but it doesn't feel chic. It always seems casual. There's also a lot less of it in the shops, but I think it's still worth seeking it out if it looks good on you.
@@bellsbeer4088 Browns can include a wide range of shades that are elevated - rich golden camel , warm beige , cool cream , deep rust , etc. Also , an accessory such as a silk scarf ( perhaps w/ a bit of unique or contrasting color ? ) or piece of interesting gold jewelry is a nice accent for browns . Coordinating w/ quality shoes & bag also will elevate the " casual " browns .
@@bellsbeer4088 I too love browns / creams as I have dark hair , light olive skin & dark green eyes . I showed horses for decades & owned mares that were black , seal brown / dark chocolate & bay ( from shades of brown to deep " rust " ) & loved coordinating my show outfits for them . Often accented w/ rust 'n cream & also liked light peach or even light blue / aqua for an small yet eye-catching pop of color . When everyone else was wearing black w/ red , we were unique ! 🤎💙 🤎🧡
They are all beautiful outfits. I have most of the items in my wardrobe except for Breton tops, they look horrible on me, a black skirt, I am the wrong shape for skirts, and sneakers. I am not a fan of sneakers, I am much happier in loafers.

Will you spell the word you used meaning “ casual “ ?
Does anyone know where to get a white, frilled-collared and -cuffed, shirt in silk? The only ones I’ve seen are cotton, and I’m trying to buy fewer items that need ironing. They tend to languish in my laundry room waiting to be ironed, because it’s too hot to iron where I live for half the year, despite a window AC unit and fan. (All my extant cotton and linen ones are ironed and ready to go for spring and summer). Thanks, friends - any friend of Marie-Anne’s is a friend of mine, and don’t we all just love her?❤
I have very recently got one from Sandro
Rats, couldn’t get the jeans, the alternative pair are stretch denim, not for me, I only like 100% cotton denim. I did score the beige heeled loafers!
@@cynthiajohnston424 great suggestions, thank you!
Strangely I have all the clothes except the skirt but none of the shoes
They are all beautiful outfits. I have most of the items in my wardrobe except for Breton tops, they look horrible on me, a black skirt, I am the wrong shape for skirts, and sneakers. I am not a fan of sneakers, I am much happier in loafers.
