Lucky you! I have a green bottle and I hate rehousing it more than any of the others I have. It knows when it has open air above it and jail breaks every single time. It’s super chill until the top comes off the enclosure. I have gotten to where I rehouse in the carport on the concrete where I can not have clutter where my guy could run and hide. Also a catch cup is a must not just a good idea. Strangely though he is the most timid eater of any T I’ve ever owned. Great channel and condolences on your father!

I love the GBBs . I just picked up a couple Chromatopelma Cyaneopubescen 3/4" from " Fear not " and would love to get one or two more .
Very nice enclosure vid! I just completed some smaller ones using some of hobby lobby boxes . I'll drill the holes on my next enclosures rather than using a wood burner. after watching your video Neater and no toxic fumes. Thanks for the tip!

Prayers going up for you and your family. I'm glad you were able to take the time to post this video. I was able to buy an Exo-terra 12" X 12" 12" a few months ago knowing I would eventually need it for my female GBB. I have the enclosure all ready but she just molted so I'm going to wait of course but this video is just what I needed to see, along with my husband. I only have three Ts and she is the biggest. My other two are B. hamorii and G. pulchra. The personalities are so different! HAHA! Glad he was able to watch this with me because he is going to be on standby when I do this. LOL

My condolences for your father Alex. I lost my grandfather in October 2019. He raised me from a baby with my grandmother so he was my father in my eyes so I completely understand how you feel. It is extremely tough! Good thing you are a tough cookie 😊 awesome tips, and wow your babies are doing super well!
I am sorry for your loss. My own father passed away when he was 91. That was back in 2012. I still miss him and my mom, that feeling will never pass. Happy New Year though.

On drilling into acrylic, I saw a tip on UA-cam that suggested "lubricating" the drill bit with dish soap, which helps prevent the bit from getting gummed up with melted plastic. It works like a charm! Sorry to hear about your Pop, my deepest condolences

Sorry for your loss man, I lost my father recently as well. We can tell you were close with him just from the way you spoke about it, and I'm sure you made his time easier, and that he knows you bring so many people knowledge and joy through your videos.
Thank you. Yeah we were pretty close. Every time we talked he would ask me about my tarantulas. He always asked me about the slings I was producing. Best dad a guy could hope for. I’m sorry to your loss as well. I keep thinking about the good times we had and it helps me deal. 😊💙
I use a step drill to make the airholes in my DIY enclosures (4 mm thick acryl). It won't scratch the surface and I can see how deep I have to drill for the holes to be the same size everywhere. The only downside is that a step drill's getting hot and I have to take breaks every few minutes or I'm gonna deal with softening acryl leaving nasty burrs behind. A handful of rough edged holes ain't a big deal though, they're easily cleaned with sanding paper wrapped around a pencil tip.

Thats a pretty good price ($20.99 @ 40% off = $12.59) for a 10" x 10" x 10" acrylic enclosure. Even without the discount, $20.99 is a decent price. Excavator is now at $14 for 10lbs and $28 for 20 lbs.
Those slings! So cute! Now I've gone from thinking maybe I'd try to pair my GBB when they're adult and sexed to I need to do it!
I liked the look of the substrate you used. The overall enclosure looks great, that was a nice piece of driftwood! I love how much webbing GBBs do, I personally maybe would have made some more anchor points.

my condolences. my father in law passed dec 30th and he was in his early 80s. he lived in costa rica so it makes things even harder with the funeral and what not. no matter if you were kinda expecting this outcome or not, still stings just as much.

Yeah, I feel like they grow pretty quick but that’s me looking backward. I’ve enjoyed them every step of the way though.

What do you do for the lids? Do I need to lock these down somehow?
If you need to, you can get a Adtech 200 watt hot glue gun, they are like big boy glue guns! I use them with building foam model airplanes, you could probaly easily fill those air holes if you ever had to!

What light is on top? Is it USB charged...I like how thin and compact it is!
Commenting too late to help time: instead of excavator clay you can use Georgia red clay from a landscape center or Amazon. Works even better, looks just as nice. And it's dirt cheap ( pun intended)

What led light is that?
If you control speed on the drill by going slow once whole is done speed it up you don’t have to worry about the drill bit getting covered
