    They should really consider having +Companion Limit also give you a Crown. I think it would balance it in favor of the other two choices.

    If this game stays in the rotation, it might be good to start doing overexplained runs, like you did with Hades. Those really helped me engage with the game better, which helped me engage with your content more.

    Note that you can't Noomlin charm something with a crown, but you can crown something with a Noomlin charm. Since you can remove crowns, the restrictions can be avoided

    I can agree with basically all of these, especially the duplicator
    If you ever want to get the ritual achievement and have an insanely powerful build
    The duplicator is key for a summons deck
    And overburn is only powerful IF you dedicate the whole deck to it
    if you miss out on the item which lets you double overburn the deck is most likely not going to bring you to the endgame

    This game is insanely hard and I've been struggling to get any meaningful progress, hopefully this helps lol. What I struggle with is knowing when to change where my units are placed. I find myself over or underthinking it and losing as a result. Losing is also very easy to happen and you can just lose a run in an instant because of one mistake it's pretty annoying

      It's true, the devs stopped by my stream today and said they're working on some things such as a warning that your leader will be killed if you end turn. Sounds like they got some good QOL stuff coming.

    Hilariously, until I watched this I had been comparing crowns basically 1:1 to making cards innate in Slay the Spire, which is not always something you want to do because innate cards still take a draw slot.

    might be a late comment, but can you make a vid explaining how to combat each boss/miniboss? what enemy cards to prioritise, how long to wait/tank hits for the next wave orattack as fast as possible before the boss triggers, how much to tank, what enemy cards to offset with snow/ink so u dont avoid all the enemies attack on the same turn etc? :v
    ive beaten the game a handful of times now, but recently ive been having trouble with infernoko lol, the rest i can kind of figure out depending on my deck and trail and error.

  • @JarodVanDyck

    Over all good tips, but what's the matter with Overburn? It's literally just better damage since they explode when they get low enough and has no downside. Sure there are a couple cards that double overburn and there's not that good unless you get a bunch but I almost always grab Beepop or Azul Battle Axe

    • @Haelian
      @Haelian  Рік тому +1

      Main reasoning: it's hard to get lots of ways to apply Overburn so it can be challenging to actually stack enough to make it fruitful.

    • @user-tf1oo9rj6u
      @user-tf1oo9rj6u 3 місяці тому

      I find overburn is fine as long as you get barrage combo'd with it. Once the 1st enemy goes down, the whole row sweeps.

    Been enjoying seeing a video to help new players into getting the hang of the game, but, as someone who's also got a good amount of experience in the game (relative to how new it is at least), I feel like there's some parts that you should've touched on, and others that I straight up disagree with.
    -There is a very important aspect on the idea of "soaking up hits". I've seen a lot of players being afraid of taking a hit with their leader and letting units be KOed instead, it's important to see health as a resource, and that hoarding it may come at the cost of your own damage output at the end
    -The importance of waiting before using charms is something I was delighted to see here. I think a little bit on the decision between cards and charms in the shop would've been nice
    -You spoke on how Shell was better than Health, which.. isn't the case. There's a lot more things that synergise with health whereas there is only one or two cards in the whole game that synergise with shells. Don't get it twisted, Shells are good, and Shellbo can be game-winning on it's own if charmed/duped enough, but Pinkberry Juice, Berry Blade, alongside the plethora of ways to heal back up health makes max health increase a lot easier to use in any team. It helps that Pinkberry Juice is quite common too.
    -Showcasing a few basic teams could help those that don't understand the teambuild (Like the use of high HP units to protect low HP ones, Yuki with Snowcake, Monch with Chikichi, Mika with a trash crowned item, etc)

    • @user-tf1oo9rj6u
      @user-tf1oo9rj6u 3 місяці тому

      I think it's thematic, and if needed, you can bench them for the 1st boss fight, they heal up, then you can swap them in.

  • @vario6492
    @vario6492 Рік тому

    Imo the game should have normal (easy) and hard (current difficulty) mode. It's just too unforgiving, especially when against the team i won as in previous run, they're seriously overstatted it's not fair at all ... (I beaten the game once, and my team was obviously super strong, so now i feel like it's impossible to win again... they should've make each loss make them little weaker next time i face them)
    I just want to play more casually and have fun with all the different archetypes, i don't want to spend 5 minutes thinking on each turn and i may not even be able to win the fight from the beginning, like dafuq

    I’ve beaten the final boss several times, but my final fight is now full of 20+ health bosses, each with 4+ teeth, several multipliers with overburns and a smackback with 7+ teeth that heals ALL enemies by +5 every 4 turns - it is impossible omg. In fairness, I should probably not apply all the modifier bells every run 😂

  • @1UpLevelUp
    @1UpLevelUp Рік тому

    I wish there was a way to stop teeth. The enemies that have them usually kill my runs.

    • @awesomefuzz4008
      @awesomefuzz4008 Рік тому +1

      I'd recommend picking up a companion with high single-hit damage and at least 5HP, such as Wallop, Firefist, or even some leaders, as well as one or two treasures that can hit for reasonable damage, such as Hongo's Hammer, Azul Battle Axe, or Pombomb. Ideally, your goal is to kill the enemy giving all other enemies Teeth ASAP, then focusing on removing Smog so that you can plan out ally targeting. After that, you should be mostly in the clear. The enemies that stack thorns when you hit them can be dealt with from a hit with a companion followed by a damaging item, since Teeth doesn't do anything to items.

    • @user-tf1oo9rj6u
      @user-tf1oo9rj6u 3 місяці тому

      This video's creator is focused on slowdown, which is generally op. But teeth is the specific weakness to that strategy. Slowdown leaves your characters doing the attacks - which invokes the teeth.
      Try the bomb that hits undamaged, or the bazooka (non-freeze), or the leech cat.
      He dissed health based decks, but upping your max health is a major win for a slower battle facing teeth.
      Also, he hated on having more companions, but that also is what would allow you to attack and partly ignore that it's killing your companions. The soul faction fares better against teeth, because they they keep dumping out companions. They attack and they act as damage absorbers.

    So your only useful advice is "buy all the crowns"? Because that seems to be the only non-obvious piece of "advice" you're giving. I've been struggling to not feel like this game is 100% luck based, as every drop in the game is random with no ways to re-roll. Was hoping you'd reveal why there's such a huge disparity between people claiming they win nearly every game, and people angry at how little agency this game seems to give the player. Many Slay the Spire veterans outright say this game is too luck/RNG heavy, while others claiming to have never played anything in the genre are winning 80% of their games.

    • @Haelian
      @Haelian  Рік тому

      Well my best is 8 wins in a row on the hardest difficulty, it's not just luck or RNG. I don't have a lot of insight as why some people struggle with this one other than the overall system takes longer to get used to than some other deckbuilders. A0 Spire is much easier than the base difficulty in Wildfrost.
