Great review! I'm glad someone took the time to do a review after a year - most reviews are just after a few days. Really appreciate this - and having just bought a pair I'm glad to know they'll last well :)

Yep! They absolutely will last you a good amount of time. Didn't even occur to me to review them until I felt like I got my money's worth out of them. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback, have a great one!

Thanks for the review! I have just received my Xero Z-trails, and so far so good - really loving them!
I have found I can slide my feet in and then just bring the heel strap up with my fingers - not touching the velcro at all...
By the way with needle and thread you can sew on new velcro patches yourself. Think of it as a field repair to keep much loved footwear going even longer!

Once I set the Velcro to get my foot in the right position I don’t ever touch it again. I loosen the top strap and slide my foot out. That way the Velcro doesn’t get messed up.

I really enjoyed the thorough review from your real world experience! I'm deciding on which minimalist sandals to buy and debating between Xero's ZTrek, ZTrail, or Naboso Trail.
I watched a video on the Xero Shoes YT channel where Steve Sashen explains keeping the velcro heel fastened and just slipping the ZTrails on and off by loosening and then adjusting the ankle strap. This would eliminate the need to undo the velcro so it would last longer.

That's what I've been doing with my new pair and it has been a much better experience - id still very much recommended. Thanks a lot for watching!

Hi, thanks for the review. I've just got a pair, and have to say, 1st impression - its ultra comfortable, but not sure if this is going to last a year. Question: other than the velcro, your 1st pair is still in good condition after 2yrs?

The tread does flatten and wear down if you are a heavy walker like me, but the straps are very durable and as strong as the first day I bought them. Someone gave me advice the to set your velcro strap to a position where you can slip your foot in without unhooking it to give it much more longevity.
