"What do you say? Wanna go around again." "I do." That line still makes me tear up. This is definitely my favorite of Futurama's manny finales. It feels like Fry finally matured. He and Leela getting to live a full life in a loving relationship is so sweet, and the ending is perfect.
Immediately after airing this episode, they put back on S1E1, which was a lovely touch. (As a mention: the air we exhale is around 16%, rather than the 21% in the atmosphere. We're not very efficient at absorption.) I believe time outside of them, and their actions, ceases to exist. They can still start functions that require time (that's why blowing the snowflake caused it to move and continue moving), as well as some fundamentals still working, otherwise there would be no light, as light takes time to travel. Considering the writing staff's educational history, I'm sure that was likely something that was brought up, but possibly vetoed in favour of a heartfelt finale.
Yeah, the most problematic thing with the balloon is that, without external atmospheric pressure, it would have popped immediately. To say nothing of what would happen to Leela without pressure, too!
"Wanna go around again?" The night they aired it, it was followed immediately by the very first Futurama episode. I thought that was really sweet. They did go around again.
The first time I saw this episode I was a bit disappointed that things would be going "back to normal" at the end. But the realization that they would make the exact same choices and thus end up in the same situation makes it an infinite loop. Meaning not only did we finally get to see Fry and Leela get together and spend their life together, they get to relive the blissful life with each other over and over again forever.
Of the show's current 4 finales (The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings, Into the Wild Green Yonder, Overclockwise, & Meanwhile), this is the best one and my personal favorite
@@karenfan010 The Zoidberg abuse was a bit too in-your-face in that one, for my liking. However, it's still a great episode, but not as strong as the other two. Regardless, all 4 episodes/3 episodes and the movie listed above actually had the potential to be the series finale - All The Way Down doesn't as two more seasons were already confirmed at the time its season was made.
Dude, epically faield to recognize their water walk as reference to one of previous season finales (one with opera, holophonor, robot-devil). In Fry's image they both gone the same way as this finale
When I first saw this episode many years ago, I couldn’t believe that this was the end but I was satisfied knowing that they’ll have the chance to live their lives, for real this time. Since then, I could only imagine what that must’ve been like until they announced the revival a while back.
This episode is amazing because it bookends perfectly since it exists outside of time, so it will always live on in our memories, and we can have as many more stories as the people in charge are willing to create for us.
This episode drop was so perfect. Yesterday I married the love of my life, and I can only hope the life ahead of us is as filled with love and companionship as this one, eternal moment for Fry and Leela. Maybe less alone though. I loved this finale when I first watched it, and I still love it now.
I love Futurama, so part of me was sort of happy to hear they were continuing it, but…at the same time, they ended it so perfectly and so beautifully here…
Fry looping back to falling over and over has happened to me in games, autosave in mid air over a drop and keep reloading and hope somehow you get out of it
This was really nice. I enjoyed watching you watch the show. I've been watching since like. Hell, I don't remember, I think sometime in the second season? Loved the entire show, yours and Futurama.
There is plenty of oxygen in exhaled air. That is why people can hold their breath for longer then 10 seconds without going unconscious. Brain needs constant! supply of oxygen to function. Once the carotid is depleted of oxygen its sleepy time.
Technically we don't know if the guy in the craterface costume is even human, so we don't know what he breathes. But that scene is scientifically impossible for many other reasons as well.
Futurama took too long to actually getting into their relationship but man... This episode made it worth it. Always tear up at the lines "wanna go around again? I do" Still havent seen the new season cause this episode felt like too good of an end
Maybe it's made of future stuff that really good at retaining heat :p also, lungs aren't so efficient that all the air you take in is absorbed, so there would be some oxygen in the balloons... Maybe not enough for that :p... But shh.. Just go with it
For a show to have a fantastic finale is a feat.
For a show to have *four*, however, is nothing short of a miracle.

I couldn't agree more.
Agreed, and to me, it really helps you rewatch it, go around their whole adventures together

Starting all over again 🥲
That was disproven by the premier

Beautiful finale episode 🥹
It is, the first time I saw it just couldn't stop crying

@@Matthew-y9g it was my last year on high school so for me is a great memory 🥲
@@mmxxiii9503 that was beautiful huh?
@@Matthew-y9g yes
I like to think that somewhere in their subconscious, they remember their life together.
It really was a satisfying ending
I too wish they could have remembered it
It really is amazing how many perfect finales this show had.
I remember when they did a Fururama marathon for the finale, and the ending looped around to the first episode.
Of the show's current 4 finales (The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings, Into the Wild Green Yonder, Overclockwise, & Meanwhile), this is the best one and my personal favorite
The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings definitely gives this episode a run for its money as the best.
and then the more recent one all the way down.

I just realized that Prof. Farnsworth becomes a being similar to paradox at that moment.

Im not kidding when I say that this is my favorite episode of Futurama.

I loved this finale. Utterly sweet and beautiful.
"That was a very satisfying ending" Well, the writers had lots of practice.

Even to this day they play the first episode after showing this one which is amazing
Not gonna lie, this episode had me in my feelings near the end of the episode😢
This was really nice. I enjoyed watching you watch the show. I've been watching since like. Hell, I don't remember, I think sometime in the second season? Loved the entire show, yours and Futurama.
Who’s to say that Moon face being couldn’t of been an Alien that inhales carbon dioxide and exhales oxygen
There is plenty of oxygen in exhaled air. That is why people can hold their breath for longer then 10 seconds without going unconscious. Brain needs constant! supply of oxygen to function. Once the carotid is depleted of oxygen its sleepy time.
This was a perfect final
This episode in amazing in every way.
Great reaction!
One of my favorite episodes!
Gne stands for good news everyone!
And they made no new Futurama episodes after that.
Good bye, everybody! That was a fun ride!
Hulu Futurama....

Now react to Disenchantment before you start Futurama Season 8
He tried. It got his old channel taken down.
Should have ended here. It's all Zoidbergs fault
The last good episode.
Totally agree. This should've been the LAST ending!
Nah season 8 finale was also really good
7:11 That's is exactly what love is, 🥲: together with that person sharing your own world surrounded by a bunch of people. This is a finale
