What do you think about muOS? Zu seems to love it, but do you? *Gary's Note* muOS released a new version this morning that has RGB controls for the analog sticks on the 40XX and 40XXV, if that's your thing.
If you’re starting from brand new device without MuOS before, then yes you need to flash a new SD. But their last update allowed you to drag and drop the new update folder on your current SD with MuOS already installed and update using the application updater. No need to reflash for updates. So you might want to make note of that massive change. Also, as others mentioned, MuOS is very buggy. I had to wipe my entire SD and start over as it crashed on me also.
I think I can take some bugginess if it lets me use Syncthing across other platforms. My 40XXH is the perfect on-the-go PS1 device but I might want to continue the game when I get home on my Odin 2.
When the RG35XX-SP giveaway video hits 10k views and if I inexplicably win, I'm going to be very happy I watched this video. This OS looks both beautiful and practical; like a Volvo wagon sculpted by Michaelangelo.
I can confirm it is completely usable by simply moving your anbernic os Sd card into the TF2 Slot and flashing Mu on another one my MUOS drive is 16gb, everything works well I havent bothered messing with Box Art or Bios Files but somehow Saturn and PS1 games launch without me specifying the Bios Files, not sure if Mu just found them itself or they werent needed
Same. I donated $9 for the Knight Tier and tried asking people in the Discord and still no one is giving me a straight answer. It's kinda ridiculous to not make it an easier process to give access to people that actually pay money to support the devs. -Edit Actually it's available in the Discord server under Test-Release with the name muOS 2405.3 Cool Beans - Roll On Edition
@@echelonredmedia6512 yeah it isn’t the most intuitive thing and I had dig and dig lol. It’s in the discord under test release ..apparently it’s still called cool beans and not yet banana so it’s that one..I’m getting it set up as we speak.
Is there a drop date for non backers? How is the boot time compared to Knulli? Not that the knulli is unbearable, but I love a fast booting SO. Also, how is the portmaster compatibility for AMR2 and SoRRemake? They're unavailable on knulli right now due to kernel shenaningans I believe.
Thanks for the overview! Still deciding between this and the other OS options. Was there by chance any lists that go over the features that muos is missing compared to other OS's that are available?
Left/Right on the d-pad should move one page, and L and R should move to the next letter in the alphabet. This makes it so much easier to navigate large ROM libraries.
It's out now and fixes the sticks but still now Bluetooth. Still waiting for that before switching from Knulli for good. As I consolize the handheld regularly I need to be able to connect a wireless controller and headset...
Just gave this a try on my Ambernic RG40XX-V and the Core selection issues remains an issues. Tried to play GBA and its selected on the Core gbSP where as I wish to use mGBA. I click X to assign mGBA and loops and back to the Assign Core, System Governor menu. Re click Assign Core and the star is still on gpSP not mGBA. Click A on mGBA same thing. Em I doing something wrong here or is this the same issue you where talking about in the Video? Just noticed that is the same if I go to System Governor. Its stared on ondemand and will not let me selected or assign Performance or anything else for that matter. Tried this on RG40XX-V build called muOS-RG40XX-V-2410.1-BANANA-d1bae326.img, no other build up.
Is the RGB on the joysticks able to be turned on with MuOS. I added Knulli and unfortunately no RGB, it's not a huge deal but hey 1 less option is a missed opportunity to be even better
There is a workaround to get the RGB working with Knulli until the developers get it working. It's on the Knulli Discord but you have to do some searching.
@@jasonshiers5771so I emailed customer service at anbernic and I got a quick automated response with a link to the update …it only came with the 64gb version lol: it came with everything though that was on the original sd card so that’s nice. It feels fast and responsive. You choosing stock over muOS?
I want to like MuOS and I've tried it on a few different devices (such as the RG35XX Plus and RG35XXSP) but in my experience, it's been buggy and has crashed on me a few times. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Loving my 35xx SP, but main issue with muOS is its gotten to where my PS folder says no content when its full of games (using a Sandisk 128gb sd card in slot 2)
That's not only not true, it's not possible. You're probably just putting it on sleep mode instead of shutting down properly. If you actually turn it off then it doesn't matter what OS you have because the micro SD with the OS wouldn't even be receiving power.
Flashed the 40xxh image but the device simply refuses to boot - no light, nothing - just will not power on. Looks like I'll be sticking with modded stock or exploring knulli
Try Flashing with Raspberry Pi imager, make sure that SD card you flashed is in the TF1 Slot, before you flash make sure the SD card is properly formatted into a single Fat32 partition, if the card has leftover pattitions from another OS it won't boot, that can be tricky to figure out but I have had that problem before making a bootable Linux Stick
If I support MuOS will they take my suggestion to not use what strongly appears to be AI art on their Supporting MuOS page? (unless you think that think the Hero is holding was designed by a human-being on purpose.) Maybe MuOS should support real artists.
You don't need to. This is already happening. I've seen some of the preview art from Ravens to Roses ordered to replace the AI placeholders and it is turning out great.
What do you think about muOS? Zu seems to love it, but do you?

Nice 👌
This is great, Thank you so much.
Thanks for the love Zu!
Always!
the sound of zu's voice is all I need for lunch
I appreciate this, but be sure to also eat food.
Ive been using a test build on my RG40XXH for a while and its so good!!!

muOS is the bees knees man, just can't beat that boot up speed.
A 'gal' here thanks for the acknowledgement 😂
Is the cardinal snapping gone with the latest muOS?
It's on the next update
It's fixed on banana

You're actually hilarious 😂
I just donated the $6 plan. Where do I get the build ? Lol I’m looking around the site and I cant see it ? Is it in the discord ?

I wish they would add scrolling games by page with left and right on the D pad instead of L1/R1. (make it an option - best of both worlds)
Left/Right on the d-pad should move one page, and L and R should move to the next letter in the alphabet. This makes it so much easier to navigate large ROM libraries.
@retrohandhelds after flashing the drive with MuOS I get a critical error message saying “failed to mount bios onto mmc” what’s wrong?
Will try this. Wish it had support for bluetooth headphones and video previews like knulli, but I'll keep an open mind.
Does the Deep sleep work as it should? Where it only sips on power?

When muOS can use bluetooth?
What about the rgb light on the analog stick, does it work with muOS?

Does bluetooth audio work on either?
muOS the best!
Is this better than Knulli?
Does it work with wifi WPA3?
where can i download the iso? i searched in the website and i dont find the link for 40xx.
Gonna pick up the RG406V you think it will work on this device? Same form factor as the RG40XXV.
muOS isn't supported on the 406V.
No, the internals are completely different and it runs Android.
Is the RGB on the joysticks able to be turned on with MuOS. I added Knulli and unfortunately no RGB, it's not a huge deal but hey 1 less option is a missed opportunity to be even better
Yes. They updated it this morning, so I added it to the pinned comment.

I do like MUos but the performance imo is still not as good as the stock is , the latest update from Anbernic is quality, Saturn works.
I just downloaded it ..40 gigs ! And the Rufus flashing is taking forever !! lol is it worth it ? I’m gonna try it tonight
@@robertsoliz4123 , why didn't you just download the 16 gig file?

I love saving money to buy more hayndhelds!!
what about the led on the joystick anybody got it to work on any custom firmware?
Is there a problem with a battery drain? Bcs Knulli drains your battery even if your device is off. Actually knulli is impossible to use.

which better muOS or knulli for this device?
I like muos, but it comes down to preference.
Any info when this will go public for non backers
Soon TM
There's no regular 40XX. There are (for now) 40XX H AND 40XX V
For a while the 40XX H was just the 40XX, still takes some getting used to for us haha.
