Τσούτσουρας - Μαριδάκι/ Tsoutsouras - Maridaki, Crete in 4K

Ο Τσούτσουρας βρίσκεται 63 χλμ νότια της πόλης του Ηρακλείου, στην έξοδο των επιβλητικών φαραγγιών του Μίντρη και του Τσούτσουρα. Είναι κτισμένος στην τοποθεσία που ήταν κτισμένη η αρχαία πόλη Ίνατος, η οποία ήταν επίνειο της Πριανσού. Η περιοχή είναι οργανωμένη και ανεπτυγμένη τουριστικά, αλλά δεν παύει να είναι ένας προορισμός για πολύ ήρεμες οικογενειακές διακοπές. Μπροστά από το χωριό υπάρχει το μικρό λιμάνι της περιοχής. Ανατολικά και δυτικά του λιμανιού σχηματίζονται δύο μεγάλοι υπήνεμοι κόλποι συνολικού μήκους 2 χλμ, με χοντρή άμμο και καθαρή θάλασσα. Η παραλία είναι λίγο οργανωμένη με ομπρέλες, αλλά και αρκετά αλμυρίκια. Είναι ιδανικό μέρος για να το χρησιμοποιήσει κάποιος βάση για εξορμήσεις στις γύρω παραλίες.
Το Μαριδάκι είναι ένας πολύ μικρός παραθαλάσσιος οικισμός στην ανατολική πλευρά των Αστερουσίων, 65 χλμ νότια του Ηρακλείου και στη δυτική πλευρά του όρμου του Τσούτσουρα. Παρά την πολύ κοντινή απόσταση από τον Τσούτσουρα (2-3 χλμ), δεν υπάρχει εύκολος δρόμος που να συνδέει τους δύο οικισμούς. Μπορείτε να περπατήσετε από τον Τσούτσουρο μέχρι το Μαριδάκι μέσα από ένα υπέροχο και καλοφτιαγμένο μονοπάτι (35-40') που διασχίζει ένα φανταστικό άγριο τοπίο με χαρουπιές, σπηλιές, ξερούς βοσκότοπους και εκπληκτική θέα στη θάλασσα. Αλλος τρόπος επίσκεψης στο Μαριδάκι είναι ο κακός χωματόδρομος 15 χλμ που ξεκινάει λίγο πριν το χωριό Αχεντριάς με κατεύθυνση το μοναστήρι του Αγίου Νικήτα και διασχίζει τοπία με απόκρημνους γκρεμούς και άγρια βράχια.
Το Μαριδάκι, αποτελεί ένα παραθεριστικό οικισμό κυρίως του Αχεντριά και τα σπίτια είναι μικρά, ασφυκτικά και άναρχα δομημένα. Ωστόσο η περιοχή κρύβει αρκετές ομορφιές που μπορείτε να ανακαλύψετε όπως το άγριο φαράγγι του Αχεντριά με τους καταρράκτες του Λιχνιστή.
Η παραλία που βρίσκεται μπροστά από τον οικισμό είναι μια υπέροχη ακρογιαλιά με ψιλό βότσαλο και κατακόρυφους βράχους να την προστατεύουν τριγύρω. Κατά μήκος της παραλίας σχηματίζονται μικροί συνεχόμενοι κόλποι με υπέροχες παραλίες με σπηλιές, όπου μπορείτε να κατασκηνώσετε.
Τsoutsouras is located 63km south of Heraklion, at the exit of the imposing Gorge of Mindris. It is built on the site of the ancient city Inatos, which was the port of Priansos (located near Kasteliana village). The area is organized and developed touristically, but still is a destination for quiet holidays.In front of the village there is the small harbor of Tsoutsouras. East and west of the port, there are two long sheltered bays with a total length of 2km, which have lovely coarse sand and crystal clear water. The beach is slightly organized with umbrellas and several tamarisk trees around. It is ideal for family holidays, because all necessary facilities for accommodation, entertainment and food are in close proximity.
Maridaki is a seaside settlement on the eastern side of Asterousia Mount, 65km south of Heraklion and in the west side of Tsoutsouras Bay. Despite the short distance from Tsoutsouras (2.5 km), there is no direct road linking the two settlements (except from a footpath). The village can be accessed via a 15km long poor dirt road that starts before the village Ahedrias (near village Mesohorio). The route passes among the towering cliffs and wild rocks of Asterousia. The same road leads to the monastery of Saint Nikitas. When in Tsoutsouras, you can walk to the Maridaki through a beautiful and well built footpath (20'), passing through a fantastic landscape with wild carob trees, caves, dry grassland and superb sea views.
It is built in the wild and dry landscape of southern Crete, at the exit of the imposing Achendrias Gorge. However, a spring and a small stream brings potable water to the beach all year round, creating an oasis with perrenial plane trees along its banks. Just beyond this place, the locals say that the fairies live. About 15' minutes from the settlement, you can see the amazing waterfalls of Lichnistis (till early spring).
The shore in front of the village is a lovely beach with fine pebbles and huge vertical rocks around. Along the shore, several coves are formed with sand, where you can find shade. The sea is quite deep, but also very cool because of the stream.
