Regarding durability, the switches are known to go out since they are all small momentary style. Even the big ones (connect mechanically to smaller switches). The key to Zoom in the 2000s was they had relatively high bit rates and 6 band EQ vs. the other digital pedals out there. I can't tell you how many great players playing great analog equipment sounded like mud at various venues around town since they didn't know how to EQ their rig to the room. The Zooms of this era gave you tremendous flexibility. The digital effects range from yuck to meh to very good to some being excellent. I love that you can stack 3 delays for ambient or related spacey textures for a pedal that you can now get used for $20 (without pedal) to $50 USD (with pedal). The effect order is fixed, but rational. If you look around you can find the signature pedal patches each as a set from the 4 or 5 celebrity endorsers which gives you a lot to play with (Mustaine, Lynch, Vai and a few more). It's a toy, but a damn good one. Even though the world has moved on (their G6 and G11 are using IRs), these can still sound pretty good live and into your DAW.
Thank you I purchased this I don’t know how long ago, and like a lot of electronic equipment I didn’t think the user manual was very much help and I never really figured out how to use it. So thanks for the video and the link. Using the headphones and no amp saves so much space lol!
Hi great vidio, I just purchased one but having problems on connecting drivers on window 10. Any ideas, looks like I’m not alone with this problem. Any ideas 👍
Is there a way that I can tap tempo the delay with external footswitch? I've been searching all round but they don't show how the tap tempo works with the external footswitch.
From manual (page 21 - 22): www.zoom-na.com/sites/default/files/products/downloads/pdfs/E_G21u_0.pdf 1. Plug the cable from the FS01 into the [CONTROL IN] jack, and then turn the G2.1u on. 2. Set the Module selector to the "CONTROL" position./ 3. Turn Parameter knob 2 to select one of the following functions for the foot switch. tP (tap tempo) Pressing the foot switch repeatedly can be used to set the interval for the rhythm function or to make settings for effect parameters supporting the tap function. This has the same effect as pressing the [TAP] key.
To be honest with you I haven't used this in a while. Its all stored up and I can't dig it up at the moment! Sorry. It does chain effects though. If you just google it, you should turn up a bunch of guides.
I know this post is a bit dated. But my RP is dead and now I'm shopping for a new one but they don't make RP's any longer. Have u ever used headphones with it? If yes, hows the volume level. Soft, OK, Loud? curious to know about it. Appreciate your thoughts, thanks I gave a like and sub for u.
Never used headphones. Its a beast of a digital pedal though. The tone is just perfect. If you like Type-O, Megadeth, Grunge.... and pretty much anything at all, it sounds fantastic. Volume is fine too, although again, never used with headphones. Mine had a little bit of a sticky switcher button though, so I boxed it up. It still worked, it was just a pain to switch tones. Still, the tones I get from this thing are amazing. If you can get one without problems it should be a great buy. I wish you luck! Thanks for the sub too! Glad you like the channel.
@@GroovySauce thanks but need one with decent head phone volume. I work days and need something that I can play as loud as I want at midnight without disturbing the family. I got a nice little wireless headphone set up that I absolutely love. I'm currently still shopping but appreciate your input very much. Keep Jammin' bro.
Im allready tired of searchin for a pedal, but im thinking, thats a thing almost like a guitar youll going to keep it fo while if not for whole of it life untill the "transistor fall off"...
I bought one of these around 2006 when I was learning guitar, it's a piece of junk. The expression pedal gives trouble, and the built in tones are brutal. Spend a bit extra and get a second hand Boss GT6 or GT8. Far superior pedal
Not all tones are brutal. You need to understand the difference between live and direct as well as how to set the EQ. I never had trouble with the control in.
I've had a GT5 a HX Stomp , Pod Xt live , Boss Me50 , and very expensive seperate pedals . I just bought this pedal and it's great . You are lying , or bad at creating sounds .
Sorry, I just recently traded this. From my recollection, its super easy though. You just set it to tune and the red display will tell you what note your on.

This is not a Boss pedal.
Heheeh
It's a DOD pedal 😁
Someone is selling me this pedal in a good condition for $40. Is this worth it? Does it sound good on a gig in a local bar?
I want to add a drum line but when I press the button it wont start, does the knob have to be somewhere
great review ... good info. get my g2.1u working ... after sitting in storage for years ;-)
It has an amazing tone. This is the best digital effects pedal I have owned.

@@GroovySauce thanx for reply and tips
I wish this had looper as well. Got this used but i think only part missing is looper.
Good tones on this thing. My favorite Type-O tone is my go-to with this pedal.
zoom tap timing is great
Thanks...

Can a bass be used with this pedal?or only for guitar
My brother uses this for recording his bass. It sounds good too.

I wish I knew... Its been so long since I played this. You should find some on eBay though. The Mustaine model I heard is nice.
A have this pedal about 18 years,i buy new. I love it
So helpful thank you
Glad it was helpful! Its got a killer sound, even for a digital pedal.
Does it have a loop option?
I have since sold this, but no I don't believe it does.
Yes it does....check the Dave Simpson review :)
@@anthonyplayter2981where is it located?
How make noise like slash, tnkyu?
Just go to toilet and start peeing while gently move yourself right to left and tgen left to right.
how do u set it up as a tuner tho
Sorry, I just recently traded this. From my recollection, its super easy though. You just set it to tune and the red display will tell you what note your on.
Press on both footswitch at the same time and it's gonna put the pedal in bypass mode and also in tuner mode.
build yourself a stereo amp
NOT Boss.
Лучше бы ты в конце не играл
