if you are interested in history, you might like to know ..... Jersey has more Neolithic artefacts than the whole of the UK. Corbiere light house was the first concrete light house built in Britain and that Elizabeth Castle was where the last siege of the English Civil War was fought.
And at Elizabeth Castle the parliamentarians fired 3 mortars from St Helier into the castle. Detonating the magazines beneath the Chapel in the parade ground killing over 40 men forcing the castle to surrender; which after 8 days George De Cartret and his 2ic kept their titles and land and all his men had to do was pay a small fine. After the Civil war Charles gave George a plot of land in the American colonies which he named. New Jersey.
A very beautiful island. Spent some days there and I wished I could live there forever. It's so beautiful with a very beautiful weather as well. I'd definitely visit again, someday soon.

My very first flight anywhere was to Jersey with my more experienced flyer girlfriend. I thought I was dreaming. Jersey seemed the most exotic and most beautiful place I had ever been to. If I couldn't go to Spain or France, would I go back again? Absolutely!
I really enjoy the pleasant and informative style of these videos, as opposed to the annoying "influencer" style travel videos, which teach little, show little (except for the self-centered author in glamour shots), abuse drone shots and generally end up being an utter waste of time. Went as a kid and it was fun. I remember playing and climbing on the ww2 cannons but they where out of use at the time (90’s) and I remember the coast as well and the war museums but my g.dad was obsessed wiv ww2. He was a couple of urs too young to fight in ww2.

@@Hmmm8327it’s an amazing place. The only problem with it is there is only so much you can do as it’s a very small island. Still tho it’s brilliant. The furthest you will be from the sea is a 10 min drive give or take. But none of the parishes are land locked so you can always go for a swim, paddle board or if the swell is good you can go for a surf.
Lived here from '99 until 2011 and it is a truly amazing place. This video doesn't mention the great night life or the sporting facilities, Golf, tennis or any water sport you can think of

We watch your videos to see the places shown around the world and also to listen to the narration . Music is always good to hear but for these videos I suggest you turn down the volume of music or not have it at all.
My dads side of the family is almost all from Jersey 😊 I’ve never been but I really want to go to see the family house in st Mary. My dads aunt found family history all the way up to 1300 :D which I think is incredible

I'm not British but I've been living in the UK for more than 10 years, I've always wanted to visit Jersey and if you're flexible with the dates there are some cheap flights, however the hotels seem to be pricey all the time regardless of the season, they are slightly cheaper in crap months like November or February but who wants to go to Jersey in those months?? For this reason I've always preferred holidaying in the Mediterranean, where there's a higher chance of nice weather, the food is way better and cheaper than in the UK and the hotels are also better value for money.
That part they conveniently leave out ofcourse seeing as it's mostly a tourist destination! If it's too expensive, the Islanders could always migrate to France (get to learn a beautiful language).

I was in the Great Storm of 1987, Jersey Island. I am trying to remember the name of the hotel I stayed in. The hotel was quite near St. Helier if I remember correctly. The hotel/motel was at least three stories, about half way down the side cliff of the island. The hotel was by itself, and built recently. I had to drive down the side of the cliff to the front of the hotel. There was one tree in front, and when the tide was low, one could walk to a "round defense bucket" that the Germans had used during WW2. (Looked like someone took a bucket of sand and flipped it upside down, like in sand box.) I remember the tree was broken in half after the storm. Does anyone know the name of the hotel? I read a British paper which stated it was the worst storm in some 325 years.

I was born in '88 and the place has changed significantly in my lifetime. So I wouldn't know what hotel or whether or not the German structure remains unchanged.
