I cannot speak for anyone else's experience; however, I have been natural for over 18 years. I have tried many of the big name products for natural hair on the market. Last year, I began using the Olaplex line. It has been a game changer for my hair. My hair is more manageable, retains more moisture, splits less, I have better curl definition, and my hair bounces back from heat sooooo much better than it did with any of the products I've tried before. I LOOOOVE Olaplex!! I have combined Olaplex with Camille Roses Curl Love and all I can say is LIFE is GOOD!!

      Agreed!
The entire product line is not meant to be used at one time. For example, the shampoo, conditioner, and no3 are all bond repair that I use when my hair is damaged. No3 is meant to be used before washing.
People used to wonder why my 4C (bleached) blonde hair always looked healthy… Olaplex!
It has a great hydration bond repair solution that when paired with a high quality moisturizing mask will leave your hair feeling wonderfully soft and your styling products will work better. Oh, and for those who like to flat iron your hair they even have a heat protector.
My (Afro) natural hairstylist uses it on most of her clients.
I hope this gives you hope and helps.

I think people who have issues with Olaplex are due to user error. They are following tips which the product was not meant to do, like leaving no.3 on overnight . It can work on natural hair but it's not meant to be used as frequently as someone with chemicals on their hair. I have relaxed hair and I use it weekly/biweekly and love it! It helps my hair to not tangle, fixed the porosity, I can go much longer without a touch-up, and my hair retains moisture much better. Only one product that does all the work is no. 3.... No. 5 and 6 are good, but the rest are optional

4Z girlie here ( meaning I’m a real 4c girl fr) and I’ve used olaplex on my color treated “natural” hair and it worked wonders for keeping my color and preventing breakage. But it’s really not that special if you are just looking for something hydrating/moisturizing for the hair. But a necessity for bleached, permed, transitioning hair because it will keep the integrity of the hair strong. Also I like it for the girls who have protein sensitivities and don’t respond well to protein treatments. Psa: you don’t need the whole line just pick the products that will blend into your already existing routine!

Olaplex isn’t for natural hair, it’s for chemically treated hair. It repairs disulfide bonds that can only be broken by chemical processes. This is why it works on your color treated hair. Disulfide bonds are the hardest bonds to break, not even heat can break them. They can only be broken with chemicals. Please learn about the products you’re using before slapping them in your hair. Olaplex isn’t meant for natural hair, unless you’ve chemically treated it with color for instance, in which case it is no longer natural in reality. People need to do their research instead of just buying products with no idea of what it is meant for. By the way, all that I’ve said can be easily found on the company’s website if anyone bothered to look into it.

I was skeptical too, but Olaplex No. 3 seems to work for me. I’ve been transitioning from relaxed to natural (a mix of types 3 and 4) for two years now. About an inch or so of my natural hair, just above the demarcation line, was getting rougher over time despite giving it lots of attention and moisture. I decided to try No. 3 on a small section of my hair after I saw a few natural UA-camrs review it, and what do you know-that section of my hair is now much smoother after one use 🤷🏾‍♀️ I tried it on another small section (different texture and curl pattern) during my last wash day, and that part is no longer rough either. I have the 4-piece kit, but I think I really only need No. 3 and maaaaybe No. 0 because I don’t heat style or dye my hair. To anyone interested but nervous, I recommend trying it on a small section of hair, not using any of the products on your scalp/roots, and buying it from an authenticated retailer with a good return policy.
Edit: This UA-camr (ua-cam.com/video/7nQr0qIP3K0/v-deo.html) explains the need for bond repair on Black hair pretty well. Green Beauty also made a video a couple years back explaining the different types of damage otherwise healthy looking Black hair can have.

As far as olaplex, you really only need the 0 and the 3, but i strongly recommend 8. To reduce the amt of product going to waste, i clarify my hair with a clarifying cleanser, towel dry, section and apply 0. Wait 10 min, apply 3. You really won't need much that way. I highly recommend olaplex used this way. Have not tried bondbar yet though. Not sure how my hair would react to switching bonding product😅

I love it. I have a mix of low porosity 3C-4B hair and it’s done great with my hair. Usually I’m super protein sensitive (low porosity hair doesn’t really need protein treatments like that) but usually I like to do one every six months during my shed cycles and I’ve definitely noticed a difference. Of course, I do what works for my hair because the gatekeeping of products is way too expensive for me to keep up with. But I will say that my hair loves OLAPLEX. It doesn’t strip my hair and surprisingly, I don’t have to get out of the shower to detangle in between the shampoo and conditioner process which is always nice. I’m a Mielle girl through and through but OLAPLEX has won me over. I’ve been reaching for these products more than my Mielle products (that pomegranate honey line has me in a chokehold). Buy the travel size ones first before you commit. That’s how I got started a year ago.
For reference, I have never dyed my natural hair. The only chemical treatments I have done were relaxers (I’m 5 years natural now). I do use protective styling and get scalp injections for my psoriasis.

It works wonders on minimizing breakage and tangles even for the next wash day when I don't use it. I have all the 4types in my hair, fine hair with multiple porosities and protein senstive. It's not good on healthy hair becuz it's for damage hair or b4 you are about to do a style that can be damaging. I still use protein but I can use lower protein treatments now instead of harsh heavy protein treatments that make my hair super dry and brittle. Olaplex worked wonders for my hair. I had postpartum shedding, iron and Vitamin D deficiency. It helped my hair recover so much. I use it every other month now and before silk presses. When it was damaged, I was using it two to three times a week (directions said it was perfectly safe) until the shedding and breakage stopped. I just cut about six inches of hair off.. because my hair was layered and I wanted a blunt cut. I still have about 12-14 inches of hair on my head. It’s healthier now more than it was when I was waist length (wasn’t using olapex then). You have to know what you’re doing. It is pricey, I’m experimenting with other high end products.. but on average I don’t think it should be used all of the time.

I have natural hair but very thin, (sometimes breakage) sensitive and always greasy, I have tried out a lot of hair products and nothing seemed to work for my hair. I tried olaplex and this rlly made my hair smooth and not-greasy though I recommend looking at your hair and see if you even need it since as a lot of people pointed out, this product is rlly good for people that have chemical-ish hair (bleaching, coloring, heat damage things like that) and yes, I have tried other cheaper products (from my local drugstore) these did not do good for my hair. My routine for olaplex is: I use a light shampoo, do a quick drying with my towel so it's damp but not soaked then I put in 0.3, ( after application of 0.3 ) put my hair up in a bun and leave in for 10-15 mins and rinse then I just use the shampoo and conditioner. I use the 0.3 once a week and same for the oil 0.7 also once a week. (I wash my hair 2x a week bc greasy hair) and then I just blow dry it and be done with it!
