- This video is about testing diesel injector leak off on a CRD style diesel injector rail. This is on a Vauxhall Zafira 1.7cdti A17DTJ but is the same on most modern diesel fuel injected cars.
Also, when you snap the plastic connectors as I did, replacing them and showing how to recover and solve this added problem!

The Denso is junk compared to the Bosch injection.

Suction control valves are very common on the 1.7s a17dtr engines gives hunting idel my astra van 1.7 has a slight miss on start but soon clears done that fir 5 years or so neaver got worse but iam suspecting a injector needs doing
I replaced the whole return pipe (T) and removed air from the system, now it won't start. What could be the problem?

Wahrscheinlich ist die Hochdruckpumpe altersschwach, deswegen läuft er auch so verzögert an und stirbt schnell ab. Raildruck messen, dann weiß man Bescheid.
I bought a new fuel injector return pipe as mine broken on the injection part. The problem is that the new pipe has a smaller diameter making is very difficult to enter the metal 'pipe' ending into the rubber pipe. As a result mine broke so I have to order a new one. Do you have some tips on how to bring it inside de pipe without damaging it? I have tried lubing the end with some oil and some soap, but without success.
what do you think the problem may be, and you said your car had a bosh injection system, i thought it was denso.
Also have you looked at the fuel filter, that can cause smoke
Yes Denso, I mentioned the correction on screen and later in the video, good spot!
I replace fuel filter yearly as part of servicing so it's not that, need to track it down though!
@@junkendriven the bosch systems were actually installed on the 1.7, but the corsa only as far as i am aware, hence suction control valve problems on the zafira.
The zafira isnt the only car that has scv problems though, the nissan navara does too on its denso systems, but the navaras go in to limp mode on those, and thinkng about it has idle problems too.

Hi Nathan, nah it doesn't normally take that long, I didn't show that I'd been messing about earlier with the leak-off pipes and this caused the rail to lose pressure, hence having to re-prime and taking a long time to start. It normally starts immediately.
Do you have a video on how to replace an actual injector? I can't find one on UA-cam. I have a 1.7 eco flex and my injectors need replaced

May i ask, i noticed in re ent videos you have cleaned, repaired Egr value, Dpf and not checking Injectors. May i ask, What is the issue/fault with the Zafira B 1.7cdti ?
Hi Neil, I've done injector leak off tests in another video and those seemed ok too.
It's very stuttery at first start, often won't boost at all until 5-10minutes into a journey (almost like turbo or actuator is stuck and frees up once car is running).
Hi Andy, this looks to be the same engine layout as my 2011 Vauxhall Astra 1.7 cdti. I'm about to do a leak off test myself today so really appreciate this video and am expecting some snapping too 😅
Hi Alistair, yes this same engine was used on the Astra too so it'll be similar engine layout. Good luck, hopefully you can tell if it's injectors or not.
Look for quite a bit of leak off in a short time as a sure sign
