    Christmas Vacation 1966, my brother brought home Hendrix's" Are You Experienced" album. From the first note of Purple Haze, I knew I was hearing something brand new and more than exciting!

      it’s really cool to hear about your experience, and a memory you had that’s associated to music, and I can only imagine how cool it was to hear something as fresh, and extraordinary as jimmy was, or should I say is because he still lives on through the music he left behind, and it was a cool experience to get to experience his music for the first time for me! he left his mark for sure!

    Jimi Hendrix is the king. There’s a reason they called him “The Master of the Stratocaster”. Good thing he had those long fingers I don’t know if you noticed but he’s playing a right handed guitar upside down strung for a lefty and taught himself how to play,
    I agree with all the recommendations below but my favorite performance by him is his remake of “Johnny B Goode” live I believe it was at Monterey.

    I saw Hendrix at Red Rocks in Colorado in 1969. Cost $5. I saw the Doors at The Family Dog- cost $3. My wife saw the Beatles for $5- twice. Times have changed. Woodstock, three days of Music was to cost $15, but must got it free.

    Funny you say that... he innovatived a chord nicknamed the Hendrix chord... based off the fact his hands were so big. His thumb would wrap around the bass string and his other digits would form the rest of the chord

    With those long fingers he was able to play the 6th & 5th string with his thumb . As well move his fingers up & down the neck. Although if you really want to listen & watch , look for him at the Monterey Pop festival , woodstock , live at Maui , also Hendrix and a band of gypsy's live at the filmore . And that's just taste of all the songs he's got . 🎸🤙🎸

    NEVER feel the need to apologize for not already knowing music released 50 yrs ago, when you are so young! Isn't that what these first reaction videos are all about? It's a journey that will often blow your mind (in a very good way)!
    I was lucky to see Jimi and the Experience as my first concert in 1968, at the LA Forum when I was 14 yrs old. The ticket was $5 (!), and we sat on the stage, as security was nonexistent. He was preceded by 2 opening acts, so didn't appear on stage until midnight. But he played until near dawn! And yes, it's a total brag. You should watch his live at Monterey rendition of Hey Joe, when his mad guitar skills are even more apparent, and was the appearance that made him an international star: ua-cam.com/video/fe82eYRjiBU/v-deo.html

    Great reaction. You should check Lynard Skynard live at Knebworth August 1976 song Free Bird. Allan Collins guitar solo will be the best you will ever hear along with Steve Gains and Gary Rossington and Leon Wilkinson the other 3 playing guitars as well. I have yet to see or hear a band that’s played on a stage since or before play rock n roll like Skynard simply put the reason is no group can!!! Glad I was alive and had that chance know this fact. Sadly a little over a year later tragedy struck when the plane carrying the group went down on Oct 20 1977 in Gillsburg Mississippi. R.I.P to the lives that were cut short and all original members.

    Not the most exciting Hendrix live version but glad you enjoyed, FYI the volume on the songs that i have heard on your channel is pretty low compared to your speech, not sure if you can change that the impact would be better if you could raise that song volume :)

      Yeah I’m trying to I actually reacted to JIMI last night I just finished editing the video, I’m gonna get it uploaded after I get me some food! It’s just the only time I can really record is late at night like 1:30 now cause more traffic drives by, and I have neighbors so I’ve been trying not to make it too loud cause of that but here lately I’ve been trying to move the volume up throughout I’ll do it moving forward cause my neighbors haven’t complained so far haha just doing it more of a courteous thing but thank you for your suggestion! :)

    You definitely have to react to a few things from Jimi Hendrix but start off with Hey Joe Live, the Black and White Version from 67. That's a good start for you. If you think this music was good, your mind will absolutely explode when you had some of his later stuff. This was nothing compared to the shit that he can do. Great reaction. I really appreciate you.

    Jimi is one of an unfortunate number of one-of-a-kind artists that were lost too soon. It hit me hard when he and Janis Joplin passed. It makes you wonder what they might have done if they had lived. He was ridiculously talented and charismatic. He defined guitar playing.

    • @SavyReacts
      @SavyReacts  3 роки тому

      He really was it’s super sad what happened, and how young he was and Janis both and it’s so weird that they died just a couple weeks apart from each other in the same year
      Oh they would’ve been doing amazing things just makes you wonder what other songs they would’ve released into the world! He most certainly did I’m sure he influenced, and had so many people when they were growing up say I want to be like JIMI!

Jimi was doing this in 1967 before anyone knew what a guitar could do. Really anything else but what you watched. I changed the spelling of my name to honor this icon because of his influence he was to me as a drummer....Let me add you are so freakin HOT as a woman, I had to watch your review.
