    Hey! I didn’t know y’all had a UA-cam channel!! Just reached out last week about adapter thicknesses, think I’m gonna use the Coyote one for my short wheelbase project. Will be running it on MaxxEcu so the whole drivetrain is speaking the same language.

    Hi, we have your SLG wiring kit installed, all is ok except the static adaptation is stuck on 3rd gear. I have used a config file I have use with 2 cars with no problem. They came with another wiring kit.

    Curious to ask, the video is titled “ANY CAR” so how would I adapt the shaft splines to other Engines to make it work any ideas or parts that would help?
    Also what ECU would you recommend to pair this with for non BMW applications
    EXAMPLE: a lexus IS350 or any Toyota V6/V8

    • @SeemsLegitGarage
      @SeemsLegitGarage  2 роки тому +4

      We make a variety of adapter plates and flywheels for many engines, and can make them for really any project moving into the future. The flywheels have a sprung hub that has the splines. This sprung hub bolts to whatever flywheel we make, protects the clutch basket, and dampens vibrations.
      Any ECU that has CAN and an electronic throttle body is preferred. The CAN can provide engine data and the GCU can alter the pedal signal to command cuts and blips without the ECU knowing it exists. No need for a standalone, factory ECU have very accurate torque models and work well. If you have any questions please let me know!

    Hey so I’m doing some research I’m loving the video seeing this is possible, I’m planning on swapping my TSX transmission with an ILX transmission that comes with an 8 Speed DCT which a lot of people didn’t know lol until now. So question this same process would this also work if I did these same steps, very curious I would need to do the custom harness thru you guys also most likely with the ecu correct. Also to note the ILX comes with also a k24 engine as the TSX

    The transmission uses the same yoke as the GM autos. Sonnax makes a billet piece that goes straight to a 1350 joint.

    Hey guys. Do you still recommend HTG? There is ALOT of hate recently, for the last year or so. I have only heard bad stuff about them, they basically don’t do any support and their main development hast left the company so it’s basically shutting down. I know you guys have endorsed them trough your videos so i just want to know your thoughts on the matter. I don’t want to spend 2k of my hard earned money for something that’s bad. What would be alternatives for the DCT controller? There is turbolamik but they are only for 8hp transmissions

    • @SeemsLegitGarage
      @SeemsLegitGarage  2 місяці тому

      You're right, right now HGT doesn't offer any support so we are recommending CANTCU or Turbolamik depending on what your use case for the car is.

    Forgive me if I am wrong, but @14:47 we are shown the table/diagram for pinning, and it says the Trans connector pin is small 'd'. not capital 'D', yet at 14:58 there is a graphic that pops up showing pin 'D' yet he places the pin into pin 'd'. Hi, if you have a OBD2 port you have CAN which is sweet. If you don't have CAN, its not the end of the world, you just need to wire the GCU to some of the sensors going to the ECU as well. Its just easier with CAN (less wires)

    Regarding the actual Mechatronix rewire; is the wiring general off the shelf Autozone wiring? If it is, wouldnt the cheaper wiring insulation break down from long term exposure to ATF oil.., throwing codes ect, ect? Can a heavier duty oil resistant purpose wiring be used instead?

    • @SeemsLegitGarage
