- I was lucky enough to catch this while I was doing business in Amityville and I had planned to go into the city today anyway. i parked my car and hopped aboard this train here. The Autumn color still looks good as we speed west to NY. All stations, signals, signal indications, interlockings, and passing trains are identified.

Awesome 💯😎👍🆒😍
I love your blog thank you for sharing your blog it was a nice ride it felt like I was actually taking a ride 😊
Thanks for the great cab view and the signal explanations.
Amityville: My father's hometown! He can still rattle off the station stops by heart, including the dramatic "Baaaabbylon!!!" flourish at the end.
Are there sharks 🦈 at Amityville?
I've seen others do "Front End Views" but your with the narrations and side notes is truly enjoyable. Thanks for the ride, might catch you in the Hudson line sometime.
Great video, I was lucky enough to get M3s from Babylon heading into work yesterday morning, the fall foliage always looks great against a grey sky, especially from trains that look like a wood paneled 1970s/80s den inside
Love this route as I worked in Lynnbrook and Baldwin McDonald's as mgr. btw Baldwin chevy known for modified Camaros back in the day
Nice video, sad to see so many colored lights making their way east out of penn. Hope you have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
Great ride!! Thanks Tim💚💚👌👌
very enjoyable - HAPPY THANKSGIVING
This head car seems to be very sensitive...... Listen to it through Seaford and Wantagh especially..... Wow, Love that ! 5:05
Great RFW video, RRHG! I'm from Philly so I don't get to see these great NYC/LIRR trains with the long tunnels and wide open tracks like this! Thx!
Thanks for this analysis.
My pleasure!
I take great joy watching these videos and reliving my youth traveling the LIRR rails (pre-electric) with my dad many decades ago. Such great memories.
I'm hoping to get back into model railroading in the coming years, post retirement.
Thank you!
I participate in a model railroad but I don’t buy much. It’s very expensive.
I want RRHG to show us the Atlas-100 locomotive on NJ Transit on this Yt channel.
@@295g295 check out another posted video for that.

I have seen other NJ Transit 'heritage wraps' on this channel.
Great video. Watched from start to end, you should do more RFW videos if you can.
I will try
Another great railfan window video. Sure hope you get many more opportunities to do more. Would love to see you do Penn Station to Huntington while the trees still have their autumn colored leaves.
Nice RFW as always!
I get them when I can
@@3985uprr that's my philosophy.
Love the leaf colors thanks!
Thanks for the ride!
Massapequa was my hometown.
Once again great smooth video with accurate commentary’
Ray from Philly Ex Long Islander from Westbury.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wish you and your loved ones a happy Thanksgiving.
I see there doing trackwork east of Jamica were the Atlantic Branch exits
29:43 looks like the Hall expansion project is in full swing! The main plan is to increase throughput of Jamaica station and prevent the slowing down for exactly what you experienced when the Port Jeff train cut in front of you.
Oyster Bay train
Would be nice to integrate LIRR,Metro North with NJT and SEPTA to provide 1 traìn/1seat services between NYC al ong with its suburban areas, Nèw Jersey and Philadelphia and its 5 County suburban area which extends into Delaware.
14-car platforms? Holy cow!
Just that one
@@3985uprr ....I believe the new stations on the main line ( new 3rd track) from Floral Park to Hicksville seem to be 14 car stations. Look at how long they are !
I do love these RFW videos, especially in autumn. The LIRR picks up quite some speed! Also love the door chime on M3's... It's more of a door bell?
Another great video! You've upped your game with the text overlays (or whatever they're called). Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Whether you have a kid or grandkid helping you I'm impressed. My sister, the last surviving family member to live in NYC or the metro area, moved from Amityville to Charlotte, NC in 2020. For the first time in a century there isn't a patch of dirt flying the family name. I expect I'll ride the LIRR again. I grew up in GC on the Hempstead Branch. I tease my sister that once we left, NY got it together- they fixed LGA and the long running fever dream of East-side Access came to fruition. That alone is worth a ride. Your calm and informative narratives are great. Cheers
PS- how do you know what equipment is covering a run? Is there an online resource or do you have a buddy in the operations side?
I checked the Long Island railroad TrainTime app
This line really has some stations really close to each other like SEPTA does.
Great videos.... Can you also put a small window in the videos with the train speeds????
I haven’t mastered that art yet
On my way to NYC. Going to do some pre Thanksgiving rail fanning at 125th st and GCT on Metro North and Secaucus and Hoboken on NJ Transit. Hopefully going to catch some heritage locomotives.
Will you be going to the Greenberg train show in Edison NJ this weekend?
No
Nice video. One of my favorite branches.
What does ugb mean when you list the Wantagh Parkway?
Under grade bridge. Perhaps I should just say underpass.
We all need a flying Yankee rfw m3 vid
That’s not likely to happen since he prefers Grand Central jobs and they don’t run the M3’s there
@@3985uprr why don’t the run M3s under there
I know nothing about LIR. How many tunnels are there under the East river? The Jamaica station looks big but what is it like-upstairs?
Very spacious. There are four tunnels under the east river.
