From seeing the video, i think you forgot you can stack genes... So you basically missed out on stronger attacks. Anyways, good job on using one of the best monsters in the game that is best at weird scenarios

@@asadmosley2748 idk, the strat for herbivores is normally just to counter the tech-power-speed attacks and use kinship skill when the enemy is about to use some attack that isnt tech-power-speed
Yeah... Tied with Nerscylla. With gene modifying this challenge run seems awfully similar to my normal run. You still end up needing non-Aptonoth monsties because of Ratha, tutorials or overworld travel. Can you clear with just Aptonoth? No. Should you? Absolutely.

If you and a partner use Aptonoth's kinship together they have a special dual move where they do a rollout at the same time and spin around

Ngl, my favorite part of all this was seeing Molotov get into a breath battle that first time. Something about seeing an Aptonoth breath fire just made my day ngl.

the Nergigante and final boss of the main story (cause thats how far i have gotten so far) where for me the two biggest annoying bosses cause i remember diying to them the most so that at the end i had to watch a tutoriel on how to beat them easely ;-;
@@phantomraimundo Nergigante was easy, FUCKING MIZUTSUNE though, that bitch kept spamming the bubbles that lower attack and accuracy. I kept missing all my attacks
@@dynastygirl2912 it was probably because i kept avoiding fighting monsters and not leveling up my gear and monsties to have an advantage that i kept on atleast dying 3 or 10 times to bosses later on in the story tbh ;-;

The Glavenus fight could be done easier by breaking the tail, thus disabling its Tail Blade attack and weakening every other tail-based attack, the tail has no weapontyp its weak to but it will stop oneshotting you

Something that is useful to know for the Rider vs Rider fights is that you should always prioritize the Rider as a target, they have much less HP & Def than the monsters, also a useful info for PVP whenever you can Ride-On
The problem is that riders can only hit monsters

Gunlance shreeeeds AI riders and monsties, since they always use the same attack type. Then you just wipe out the field with Wyvern fire

I never played the game, so i might be absolutely wrong, but that skill sounds pretty good.
Atleast if you can have more then 1 monster in play and multiple monsters can attack in a round.
Cause then its essentially a "disable 1 enemy for 1 round and taunt another"
The 1 the aptanoth made slip cant do anything and 1 of the others has to attack the aptanoth if they dont want to have their monster disabled for another round.
Not attacking it would be a waste.
No, you're correct. Aptonoth Kinship is VERY good.
Aptonoth is essential for beating Fatalis, DO NOT DIS HIM BY CALLING HIM THE WEAKESS.
Also, in my second playthrough, I kept training in the area until I could quick finish anything in the area
I was not aware that fatalis could be made easier with slip and slam. Did him normally like a scrub

Don't know if you played stories on the 3ds but I'm glad this series is getting love. I'm so tempted to buy multiple copies when it goes on sale just so Capcom can make more games!! Glad you enjoyed the game!

Ngl I played stories on IOS (not illegal pirating) cuz on the App Store there was a port made to mobile by capcom for 20 pound and I killed the final boss (which was some weird looking mammal with the frenzy I think?) but anyways it was really fun
The first one on 3ds is my favorite game
What I learned from breezing through the game is, that status effects, specifically paralysis are extremely powerful.
I beat Glavenus without any issue, because it could barely move, since I kept paralysing it with the Mizutsune bow.
Nergigante was also a push over, because I had high evasion on my equipment, and got lucky dodging a lot.
Basically, what I'm saying is, that it might be a better idea to make status Aptonoths, instead of going for elements.
Also, Bazelgeuse is pronounced like Basilgeese, as far as I know and I don't know how I feel about it.
Watching you slowly go insane was so entertaining! Can't wait for the next one!

The best moment for me in this game is that Oltua was about to finish charging it’s final attack, and then Pukei-Pukei managed to break the last wing before it could use it.
I know the herbivore for the second area break dances when it does it double kinship skill
got a potential challenge for another run; Water Monsters Only.(starting from when you can get your first one, of course). or to go one step further, only water monsties with only water(and default) moves. Other monsties are only useable for field moves and genes

1:56 take this with a grain of salt because I’ve only played the first monster hunter stories but I remember the rider being really weak are you sure your going to be doing more damage with your rider?

So, my starting Monstie was an Aptonoth named Apple. I... Kind of already did this because I loved her and grew attached, so when I saw the title I laughed and just had to leave a comment.

I figured you'd want to use the greatsword/hammer if you wanted to rely on your Rider's damage more then Aptonoths
Usually for the weapons I do a sword, hammer, and bow. So that way I have a weapon for each weakness
I think you also made it even harder for yourself by being very underleveled. In my playthrough, i was about 6-8 levels higher than you at all times starting at Loloska i'm pretty sure (at least at the Seltas Queen fight).
Though i would have never expected only two tries at Oltura at level 36, that's insanely low for the final boss. I did it at level 42 and still struggled.
Also i did not know you only had to break the ray wings in phase 4, i destroyed all 4 lmao.
Another big thing would have been to grab the Breaker (L) talisman from a chest next to Nergi's arena. Would have really helped against both him and Oltura.
aptonoth kin is the best in the game so if a monster is in rage and you have your kin you can put it out of its rage + HES NOT THE WORST MONSTER OK
Today I learned that you could order your monster to do moves and that I didn't have to switch to a power/speed/tech monster to get them to win a head to head because they do their default for their first move.

i beat mhs2 using just Ranmar, with the right preperation i'm pretty sure any monstie could beat the game.

I managed to not die at the rage rayed crimson quropeco since i knew it was weak to ice as well as the crab it summons and i had a barioth with me who i build and used ice weapons so i had an easy time ngl

I hate the monsties that have powerful wings, fly in battle, or are literally called flying wyverns, that can't fly

Mayby being a higher lv for some of those fights would have made it easier, i dont remember what lv i was when fighting nergigante but it was above lv 40
In one of my normal new savefiles wich i started like last week or the week before that , my nexst objevtive is to kill story nergigante and so far i managed to not lose all 3 hearts (and nether my buddys) wich is so far my best record
I now regret not having an aptonoth on my team…even though I kill every monster in sight. Yet I’m playing the game as Door-kun (If you get the reference then you are cool)

Avinia is pretty good but we all know kayna is the best teammate
I wanna do this challenge but with just a puki puki I've only played the demo but that's my favorite monstie they are so adorable and the kinship skill adds to it with them using it's tongue as a umbrella in the toxic rain

Nahh you can't switch unfortunately, that's what makes it worse. I learned to like it a lot more throughout the game, but any scenario where the opponent is more than just one monster is WAY too dangerous
