Kristen, cardboard needs to be laid down in late fall. It helps with weed suppression, but it also improves the soil because earthworms LOVE to it. As they do so, they aerate the soil and their castings (worm poop) add black gold to your soil. Since it is later in the season, don’t do cardboard. Instead, add some compost into your existing soil. Plant whatever it is you wish to plant. Once your plants are about 3 inches tall and fairly sturdy, you can then place newspaper around the base of your plants, then add your mulch last. Wood chips make a great mulch. The newspaper and wood chips (or whatever natural mulch you choose) will break down over time and improve your soil. Next year you will repeat the process!

Kristen, newspaper is a better solution for your front beds. You can maneuver the paper around you plants and the benefit of paper is weed barrier, it brings all the worms to the paper working miracles for fertilizing your plants. Then top dress with what ever you want.

The best part for me in this video is when your middle daughter Ruby came into the frame with her Hello Kitty helmet on. This brought a smile to my face, and I laughed out loud. You have such sweet girls.

I love that you are real and show the reality that nothing is ever absolutely perfect except Jesuscand there is a lot of joy in taking something mot so pretty and making it very beautiful.

I loved this video so much. I'm a Grammie but still appreciate watching you and your adorable daughters. I love your sweet messages and encouragement for young families. Have your husband plant some bushes in the front yard flower bed and then you can plant some annuals in front of them as the weather gets warmer there! Have him till the soil for you so that it will be easy for you to plant and the things you plant will grow easier. Add some peat moss, bone , vitamin B1 if needed. Ask someone knowledgeable at the nursery what you need for your area. ❤

I would just plant bushes by the house. Flowers in front of the bushes then add a couple inches of mulch. Done and pretty. I refresh my mulch once a year in the spring.

Kristen, You’re a beautiful mama and you’re also mothering the baby you’re carrying. Please show yourself the love, grace and mercy of your Heavenly Father. We all waste time. It is a precious commodity. Guilt isn’t the same thing as conviction. Take care of yourself as you take care of your marriage and sweet family.

I love seeing you with the children making the bird feeders and little Rosie talking about it. Also Ruby in the Hello Kitty hat and little Ivy just so happy working with her sisters. These years fly by so fast so keep mental pictures in your heart.

  • @nclare7

Your daughters are absolutely beautiful and delightful and Ivy's verbal skills are very advanced for her age!

  • @fabiolagalindo9102

Your kids are so adorable; your daughter watching you wash dishes brought back so much memories 😢 I am 45 and all my four girls are all grown up. But I wish I could go back on time and do it all over again

  • @annw1395

You are NOT idle! Not only are you taking on projects, but you're doing fun activities with your girls. And don't forget, you just had months of no energy and feeling lousy. Take time to get the rest that you need. No one should be working every waking moment.

  • @shelbyhambright9543

I'm really loving the scripture discussions. Very good. I rarely tecommend channels but I will certainly gladly promote yours. Very wholesome and beautiful.

Sweet video. I think we ALL could learn from this, & get off our phones more often❤

  • @lynneross319

I often take the remaining flowers that still look good from the bouquet and put in either a smaller jar, or pop one flower each in little single vases (found at thrift store) and line them up on my kitchen window sill. You can enjoy them for longer that way. 🌸

  • @melaniebecigneul705

A mom of three girls couldn't ever be idle. Rest when you need to, you're growing a new beautiful baby. ❤

I’m a 44 yr old with kids 29 boy, 21 girl,20 boy and 18 girl. 3 grandchildren from oldest. I will tell anyone enjoy your children to the fullest! It goes by the childhood years. It’s videos like this that puts smiles on my face. You’re such a good mom and it shows. The beautiful homemaking is a plus. But seeing all the quirks makes me feel normal. Our lives are not staged they are lived with everyday trials and beautiful little moments.❤️🌻
