Heat Health Alerts in force as temperatures soar across England

- Temperatures will soar to highs of 26C in Greater Manchester today - as a heat health alert kicks in for much of England.
It's set to be a 'very warm' and sunny day in our region on Monday (June 24) as the mercury climbs to an average of 25C this afternoon. Met Office forecasters predict some cloudy spells amid sunny intervals in Greater Manchester.
The warmer weather comes as forecasters predict there may be a heatwave in some parts of the UK as temperatures climb to 31C. Forecasters said 'some central and southern areas are likely to see temperatures approaching the values needed for heatwave conditions'.
The values must remain for three consecutive days to be classed as a heatwave. A yellow heat health alert has also come into force across much of England today.

They're hardly calling it the end of days, every summer its you lot that overact, all the MET mean is make sure you should drink more water and wear some sunscreen.
Yeah that might be common sense but its what we're paying the MET to do. If you wake up in the morning and you can't tell what the weathers gonna be do you not want a forecast telling you its gonna be a bit hotter than normal so you can dress appropriately? I just dont get why every year you have to go like "duuur ooooo is it gonna be hot duuuur you dont say".

I'm from South Spain but have been living in London for a decade. I still remember two years ago, when they were announcing the hottest day ever in the UK as if it was the Armaggeddon... Then the day came and it was just like a regular summer day in my hometown, where we have like 40 of those in a row LOL

a health alert for summer of measly temps of 26? You've got to be kidding, you should try Cyprus with temps of over 40C, now that is a heat alert. Next they will be saying stay indoors and locks your doors and windows, and do not go in the sun as it could give you heatstroke.
I went to turkey last year it was 20 degrees higher than uk and funnily enough nobody died

I was in my garden this morning at 5.30am and I foolishly let the sunshine touch my bare skin with no factor 180 on. Should I lock myself away in a dark cuboard somewhere to negate the warmth and comfort that washed over my physical and light body? 😂 Also, a special thank you to our "satanic overlords" for leaving the skies alone for a few days. 😂
Guys just remember if you want to walk you have to put one foot infront of the other continuosly to move forward otherwise it wont work, also if you need to take a shit you need to walk how i told you before, walk to a toilet, lift the toilet lid and sit on the toilet seat with your asshole aimed into the toilet bowl, ( now this is the important part) make sure you pull your pants and underwear down BEFORE you sit down otherwise you'll shit in your pants, then let the shit fall from your ass, make sure it lands INSIDE the bowl, otherwise you will not have fun cleaning it up..... then fold some toilet paper and wipe your ass front to back, throw the tissue in the toilet, close the toilet lid and flush by pushing a button or lever. Pull your underwear and pants up, make your way to the sink, turn on the tap, squeeze some soap out of the soap dispenser, rub around your hands then wash your hands under the tap. Did i miss anything? Does anybody want to me to explain how to do basic shit for anything else? Like how we're in summer now so its hot outside because the sun is out?

These temperatures are not dangerous, in the 60s 70s when these temperatures were about it was normal summer most of the time it was hotter 😊
