1st Round Predictions Update: Despite some shocking upsets and unexpected last minute withdrawals I got 94 out of 128 matches correct. Not happy with some incredible draw busters on the women’s side such as Vondrousova & Zheng losing 1st round. 😩
If you really knew who was going to win a tennis match, you could make a fortune betting on it. There's almost no limit to how much you could win in a year. That you can't do that proves you are just guessing.
I am not surprised you picked Jannik. He’s the most logical choice based on form. I personally want Alcaraz to win but that’s cause he’s my fave. And it would be cool to see someone other than the big 3 go back to back at a grand slam. I am looking forward to Wimbledon. And as I always say may the best man win. 🎾🏆🇬🇧
Swiatek wins 87% on clay, but only 71% on grass. However even on her weakest surface her win rate of 71% is still better than Rybakina's 70% and Sabalenka's 64%. So Swiatek will certainly be capable of winning Wimbledon some day. However, this year she will likely meet Ostapenko in the 4th round, and Rybakina in the semi. Given her head to head of 0-4 against Ostapenko and 2-4 against Rybakina, these two big hitters can post serious threat to her on grass. If Swiatek makes it to the final, I agree she will likely win the final, given that the in the final the grass is largely gone and the court plays somewhat like a clay court. The odds makers put Swiatek's chance lower than Sabalenka's. They must have figured that it will be difficult for Swiatek to pass both Ostapenko and Rybakina, two of her nemesis on fast courts. Separately, Wozniacki should have no problem pass Alicia Parks in the first round.
I do as well. But also keep in mind. In the recent years Wimbledon has gotten a bit slower. Not as fast as it used to be. Some of those potential upsets will really come down to mental toughness
Indeed. Who would have thought that Qinwen Zheng would play final in Australian Open and Paolini in the French Open? Who knows? There can be a bunch of surprises, especially as some of the top players come into the competition with not the best health conditions.
@@littledorrit6819 that's what the Federer fans hope anyway because with 8 each (2020 was a gimme lost) Djokovic has the 3 finals to 0 tiebreaker in the bag.
@@huzcer just imagine if Novak in his current form would have to face a 6 year younger Federer. Would get smoked every time. Crazy how people like you just pretend to ignore that fact. Like they were the same age when they played lmfao. Y'all Novak fans talk about numbers and then cry because no one recognizes them. But thats because he could only beat an old version of Fed and has been beating Casper ruud and berretini to get all the records, players who couldn't even beat an 18 year old Alcaraz. Fed used to smoke Novak until he was past 30 years old. First grass court match Novak won against Fed was in 2014. Read all the facts, not just the ones you like. You pretend like age doesn't matter when it's convenient, and when it's not and Alcaraz destroys Novak in the wimbledon finals, then you call out the age factor.
Very interesting! I'm a huge Iga Swiatek fan and to be honest I don't have much faith that she'll win Wimbledon this year but your video made me feel reassured. You're definitely right that her biggest opponents might not be fit but I have some doubts about Iga making it throught Siniakova. I believe that Iga will eventually win Wimbledon but I'm not sure it's this year, she didn't play any grass event to prepare, I assume because Olympics are the priority for her but I hope she puts 100% into WImbledon because she definitely is a contender.
I really cannot see Iga making it to the final in any logical way, she has not even played a warm up tournament on grass and her full western style grip does not help on grass like clay. She won't make it to the semis. Do not care if she is world number 1 it means nothing on this surface ! She is the best mover on clay and hard court but not grass, you have to move differently and she is not that good at it!
Exciting prediction for Raducanu. I thought that was some beautiful smart tennis she played in Eastbourne. Muchova hasn't had too much match play lately, but a great player. Would love to see have a good run.
I had Novak as Wimby champ earlier this year but now we have take into account his injury. So I agree with you Nick. Sinner's game looks like the sharpest one right now.
He’s been serving well and hasn’t been broken serve much this grass season. He still needs to work on not staying at the baseline the entire time. He rarely approaches the net. And when he does he loses the point.
Not really sold on Humbert to make it that far. Thompson has been playing great grass season. Humbert can’t find his form this grass season. Other player that have been playing very well. Jack Draper Billy Harris Fearnley(I doubt he’ll beat djokovic) But definitely some upset specials in the earlier rounds.
Can't see Draper beating Zverev. Jacks biggest weapons are serve and backhand but Zverev is Top 3 in the world at both of those. He also has a much better forehand. Maybe Jack is better at the net but I can't see him getting there too often. Other than the lefty aspect I can't see a lot of hope for Jack in that match (if they both get there).
I do agree with you about him not getting past zvyrev. Only thing I can see preventing zyvrev from having a good run is because he’s never reach a quarterfinal at Wimbledon. Doesn’t really change anything. Also another thing about Draper I been thinking about is he can physically and mentally handle the extended format. Curious to see how some of these players outside the top 100 that have been playing well. This grass season are able to just adjust to the best of five set format with such short time.
Very much alignt with your predictions . Big quistion is how Iga (who is the bedst woman player on the planet) has adapted to the grass. Importent is how drive shots works for Iga The heavy shape shots don"t work so well on grass so that advantige is"t so dominant for Iga. But interesting to se how Iga handels that problem. Thanks for the predictions.!
I think your picks are spot on for the champions. It does seem like this is their time to shine. If Osaka can gain some momentum she could make it to the finals, beating Sabalenka, but if she goes up against Zheng again I feel she may face another defeat.
Really like how you explained your predictions but as a Brit I was quite shocked to see the organisers not give the current British Nr.1 Katie Boulter the prestige of playing first on centre court on day 1 but instead this honor going to WTA Ranked 168 Emma Raducanu. If this was random okay but if tactical the thinking behind it, yes Boulter is Nr.1 but its widely accepted Emma is the most followed, the most intriguing, most animated, most thrilling to watch of all the British women and we also all know she has a big game mentality and not daunted at the task ahead as the clear underdog in her opening R1 match. I just wonder if the decision was made in the hope that her opponent being on centre court against an Emma Raducanu might spook her and give Emma perhaps the advantage she would need with home crowd support to conjure a win. It would be amazing to see Emma go as far as you predict and good for the event. I guess we will see.
I agree with the men's predictions, Sinner looks like he's gonna win it this year to prove he's de facto No. 1 but I don't believe Iga is gonna make it past the SF, the wear and tear on clay especially mentally is gonna take a toll on her and she's bound for a meh performance in one of these rounds.
Nice Mens's Picks - I too choose Sinner to get to the finals. After losing to Carlitios in the Semis of The French, he was not happy on how he lost, so he will definitely be even more hungry to change this. Tommy Paul is one to watch too, with his great form on grass recently. Never rule out Novak, to have the discipline and hunger to comeback from knee surgery, plus remembering the 5 set loss to Carlitos last year, he'll find a way to get to the finals. As for the winner, does Novak have that extra gear to beat Sinner, based on Sinner's improved level of tennis?
I have to say you have great faith in Iga Świątek proceeding to the final and winning the tournament. Love Iga and really hope she has a very deep run. Hurkacz can be unpredictable at time, but when he's on song, he can go deep. Not so sure about Novak, however.

If he is in form, he'll smoke him.

@@kchainan1055 That will indeed be a big test for Alcaraz
No way iga is gonna win at all…as for the men if Djoko goes to the final I think he will win, but he can easily lose to Hurckacz and Sinner has a very difficult draw
Sinner 🙌👍🏆🙂
You were right about Rudd.
This has gone horribly wrong
Nicolas jarry vs shapovalov is jarry stronger
Thompson beats Humbert, Paul beats koepfer, mussetti beats rublev and korda, Huby beats the 🐐
The predictions are basically the same for everyone I don't think the favourites are going to win in women's
Radacanu might not make it outta 1st rd
true. up against a big hitter on grass. Garcia blasted her off the court there in 22
Samso beats Kalinskaya
Won't be surprised if Hurcakz meets Zverev or Draper in the Semi
NFW coco and Keyes
Iga out first round
Totally wrong
I got Tabilo or Shapo winning it all! I feel bad for Andy Murray. He's going to get destroyed by Tomáš Macháč who will have the most hilarious look in the tournament on the men's side.
Shapo parody account?!
Coco and Sinner win their 2️⃣nd Grand Slam 🏆🍓
I think if Djokovic makes the final, he finds a way to win even against Sinner, especially after his loss last year.
For the women's, I still don't have confidence in Iga making it deep. Sabalenka is the favourite for me given how consistent she's been at the slams.
