I'll be 100% honest. I think I liked how it looked before. Only issue was how high each step was. Yet I can't say I'm in love with the replacement concrete work. Given not all of the steps look even and the railing looks dull. The other one had a lot more character and style to it.
For a slightly above average job, you guys did great. The only tip I have is to bevel the bottom of your riser form so that you can trowel deeper in the tread
100 years ago we always shot for 7 3/4 rise max and 8" tread max, had to stay lower then 1/4" difference in the whole run, that's in Michigan, been so long I've no idea what's code now...but looks great guys...
I'm tackling a similar project but much larger. Why did you choose not to have concrete footings? Are you worried that the stairs will wobble over time?
