Destroyer was basically the biggest badass of the group, seeing as how he nearly took out a hell knight by himself as a human. Or at least put up the most fight. Without any guns. And a very small arena.
I think they mention it in the movie "What was she shielding her child from?" That looks like an instant death, not protecting someone from a predator. It's a goofy movie, but a great and fun one to watch.
The movie isnt so bad. As a mute protoganist, DOOM GUY gets more and more powerful, becoming a god because thats what you do in the game. As a STORY, they needed human interaction. so this was made.
This is actually more like Doom 3. We see "grounded" main character, not magical fighter. Good adaptation for series? Hell no, good adaptation for Doom 3? acceptable level. Final scene was good.
On a related note, unless it's been done, a full breakdown of the original doom law, (demons from hell and the doomslayer and his rabbit etc) would be amazing
What I found intriguing about the film back then was it's ability to change an individual based on their morals..also enjoyed watching black adam and skurge duke it out..pls do a film analysis on Spring...
I really loved this movie no matter what people said. This is one of the first Midnight movie i watch in Tv when i was a child 😂 I keep screaming when the Monster appear. And when Karl Urban Character Griim start doing the First Person Shooting scene is amazing 😁👍and also Rosamund Pike as Samantha is so beautifull 😁 (Sorry for my english.still learning)
The writers of this movie didn't really think through how they were going to do Doom without actual demons very well. A lot of people in the real world have an extra chromosome - it's called Down's Syndrome.
As with the constantine movie I do not look at this as an adaptation in the strictest sense. I actually enjoyed this movie for what it was. Stupid fun.
@3:48 So, it was Dr. Carmack who conducted human experiments on Mars...to think that John Carmack made the game, I think that's a subtle easter egg in the movie.
I remember watching this as a kid and being like “wth is this?…” and being so disappointed as someone who grew up with the OG Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem, and Blood games, and theyre sequals from the age of 3ish and up.
What would make this movie gold is if the main characters discovered the DoomSlayer (throw out genetic mutations as a part of the movie, just demons) and then watched him through the security cameras lmao
God i love this film. The fact we got a film with Karl Urban playing doomguy is enough to be a win in my books. Plus the plot was not bad either I found it quite interesting and a cool idea.
I mean if Hollywood can make Irobot into an action focused but cop movie or I am legend without the whole humans are new monster thing Doom without doomguy or demons seems about par the course
I like and hate this movie at the same time I like some of the parts especially the 1st person moment and and some of the monsters do look sweet yet the rest of it not so much
MY SUGGESTION IDEA FOR A (DOOM) SHOW SERIES, WHAT I IMAGINE IT MIGHT BE LIKE & MORE: I think it could be great if a (DOOM) show series was made someday. In addition I think it might be great if the aspect of the (DOOM) movie’s storyline could be added in the series; What I mean by that is that I think it would be great to include the C-24 genetics into the show series storyline, and I think a bit of the aspects from the DOOM VideoGames could be added into the storyline as well. For instance I imagine the discover of an alien race whose genetics had 24 chromosomes, instead of just 23 like humans do, and I imagine that a very old locked gateway to a very dangerous dimensional realm that has demonic looking monsters in it some how destroy the lock, and then get loose causing allot of destruction, and to add killing allot of people too once they start slowly coming through the portal one at a time.
Seen this in theaters when it came out lol i was so little. Even rented it from blockbuster and Hollywood Video. Eventually my dad bought it for me. Ive had to of watched it over 400 times aha
Me too. I just want my skin and health back (I’m chronically ill), and C24 would give me that and my compromised immune system back, but I’m afraid I’d turn into a monster, despite not being anything like my father.
Just do a remake and let Karl carry the movie. He has proven with DREDD (very good remake), that he can be an excellent action character in a believable, no-nonsense way.
T8:37 -- 'With the added *caveat* of not having to transform into imps." Except 'caveat' is synonymous to caveat-emptor; but what is negative in terms of *not* turning into an imp? The meaning is sharply disjoint. "Let a person beware" is a negative denotation in the caveat/caveat-emptor. But *NOT* turning into a demon -- is the thing to be aware of? The terrible drawback of having 24th chromosome as a human who is good, is that you don't turn into a demon? That just doesn't make sense.
"It's a shame I'm such a morally good person. I can only have enhanced strength and senses. If I had truly committed to being evil, I'd be a DEMON IMP right now! ~Oh, woe s me~ " It makes no sense! :p
This movie was supposed to be the first of a trilogy, being just the origin story, with the other two movies being more like the DOOM we all expected; however because most people saw it as a stand alone movie instead of the first of three, it flopped, and the other two movies were never green lighted. The video was great, but short and lacked a lot, in contrast to the monster from Stanger Things, were you made a longer video with less information. I suspect you didn't enjoy the movie
Reaper is more like Doom guy which is just a super soldier like Master Chief or Captain America and less like the DoomSlayer since DoomSlayer is a actual God like a god of destruction or a god of war.
Love the new DOOM games. Still like the original DOOM games a bit more. For some strange reason my favorite is 3 though…. But that isn’t a fair comparison cause it’s largely not the same in genre as the others. I guess I like the survival aspect more. Still like going all macho on demons in 2016 and Eternal though can’t beat that brutal carnage. However, I could actually never need a break from the originals….could endlessly play those for weeks upon weeks and weeks. Kinda wish I had them in an arcade cabinet that takes quarters.
As an adaptation: bad
As an entertaining, stand-alone movie: a pretty good, guilty pleasure
Agreed!
I say that to people if you don’t like a film because it isn’t faithful to its source then think of it as a stand alone movie
Totally agree.
Guilty? Nah :)
I always liked to think of it as a more scientific version of the series where it wasn’t demonic
Destroyer was basically the biggest badass of the group, seeing as how he nearly took out a hell knight by himself as a human.
Or at least put up the most fight.
Without any guns.
And a very small arena.
He may have won that fight if he didn’t try to bug out.
@@Mudoh415 I think he would have and made it out alive being severely injured
This movie was actually pretty fun to watch. Great popcorn film
What REALLY needs explaining is how those bones stayed in perfect shape hugging.
I think they mention it in the movie "What was she shielding her child from?" That looks like an instant death, not protecting someone from a predator. It's a goofy movie, but a great and fun one to watch.
It's the power of love.❤️
Does nobody know about Pompeii?
@@graydi66y was about to say the same thing
@@graydi66y Not just that, but also the Velociraptor and Triceratops skeleton, that were frozen in place during their death battle.
The movie isnt so bad. As a mute protoganist, DOOM GUY gets more and more powerful, becoming a god because thats what you do in the game.
As a STORY, they needed human interaction. so this was made.
Karl Urban could carry a doom movie on his own.
This is actually more like Doom 3. We see "grounded" main character, not magical fighter. Good adaptation for series? Hell no, good adaptation for Doom 3? acceptable level. Final scene was good.
the first person view scene was the most memorable moment in my opinion, i wish they would have filmed the entire thing just like that
@@D0NU75 Most people (Including myself) said the same thing when it came out.
So the 24th chromosome is basically the super soldier serum from the MCU "Good becomes great, bad becomes worse."
On a related note, unless it's been done, a full breakdown of the original doom law, (demons from hell and the doomslayer and his rabbit etc) would be amazing
There was one... I dont remember what it was called. But it came out in 2018-2019 I think.
Karl really carried this movie and I enjoyed quite well
Great choice 🤙🏻The first person shooter view at the end was the highlight for me
It was so doom 3
A lot of people think that part was a low point and unnecessary. Those people are wrong.
"She’s my sister"
"Oh shit"
It's weird to see the Rock play a bad guy.
The one moment where it had that classic fps camera shot is all that I remembered about the movie lol.
Thanks for another video on my favourite franchise!! Il’l have fun watching this!!
What I found intriguing about the film back then was it's ability to change an individual based on their morals..also enjoyed watching black adam and skurge duke it out..pls do a film analysis on Spring...
Awesome, as always!!
the amount of science you put in this video is impressive and entertaining
"A Doomslayer, if you will."
My family carries a "super power" gene, hardwired into our Y chromosome. Its fucking *awesome*
Wouldn't mind seeing you do a video on the second Doom movie, Doom: Annihilation which sticks a little closer to the source material
I really loved this movie no matter what people said. This is one of the first Midnight movie i watch in Tv when i was a child 😂

This is by far the best channel on you tube, I look forward to all your videos even the old ones.

The Down's Slayer

This movie feels like its based on the Doom 3 storyline but with some changes.
Can you do a video on the games, like the Doom Slayer or Davoth?
I've done a few. Type Doom in the search options for the channel!

Look how TINY the Rock is.... awwwww!!!!!
He was a pebble back then! Lol
Could you cover Coraline?
If a proper doom movie was ever made, I definitely see the rock being the doom slayer
Love this movie. Probably would be more popular if it was not titled doom.
This was a genuinely a good movie. It could have not have room in its name and I would still watch it
This movie is a guilty pleasure of mine
now you gotta do the lore of the DOOM games ♥️
As with the constantine movie I do not look at this as an adaptation in the strictest sense.
I actually enjoyed this movie for what it was. Stupid fun.
good thing Karl Urban is a Main Character of Doom Slayer
Karl urban does vaguely look like the new Doom slayer face without the beard
Please go back to the old way you finished your videos with clips from the movie you were explaining, I miss those 💜
Knowing that in the movie, C-24 is based out of being “good or bad”, its kinda like a demon invasion but its only kinda
I have not seen this one yet but now I want too. Thanks.
Wait based on doom but no demons just...mutants
i have extra chromosomes and it just gave me mild autism
@3:48
So, it was Dr. Carmack who conducted human experiments on Mars...to think that John Carmack made the game, I think that's a subtle easter egg in the movie.
How's about a Doom movie will Hell itself involved?

Bonus points if doom music played when it cut from camera to close up

Any chance of doing a video on the lore from Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal?
Sure
Nice video.
This movie takes me back to my younger years.
Watched the hell out of this with my buddy as kid haha Great action 🤘
"Loosley based on Doom"
That's putting it nicely

I love this movie thanks for explaining 👍
Do Planet Terror's Project Terror
Zombies, Guns, Female Firepower, I'll be great
The movie is what introduced us to the Hellknight. Unfortunately, the movie was based on the Doom 3 game
"You killed the kid.."
Now I know this film wasn’t the best but at least it had something Annihilation is sorely missing.
*Testosterone*
I actually liked this movie for what it was a B horror movie loosely based on a hit video games
You should do one on Deepstar Six. It's a delightfully horrible late-80's underwater horror movie.
lol the night king
Cool ending song
Has anyone made the request for you to cover the other Doom movie?
Doom: Annihilation
Doubt it, as its a pile of poop. Unless you like it, then more power to you.
I wouldn't say it's a good movie, but at the very least I can find entertainment in it.
Please do the flood from doctor who, it's from possibly one of the best episodes of the show and it's such a cool villain
Please do a video on Edith Finch. I believe there is great content there for you

You should do Doom 2. They explore the religious, demon side of the movie
