4. Enable System Extensions: For scanning internal drives, enable the macOS system extension. Check out our linked tutorial below for a quick guide.
5. Prepare External Drives: Connect any external drives you wish to scan. Consider creating a byte-to-byte backup to safeguard your data before scanning.
6. Initiate Scanning: Launch Disk Drill and select your drive to begin scanning for lost data. Disk Drill will automatically use all available methods to recover your files.
7. Review and Recover Files: As the scan progresses, you can preview and select files for recovery. Ensure to recover files to a different location than the original to avoid overwriting.
8. Complete Recovery: Follow the prompts to recover your selected files, choosing a safe location for them. This concludes the recovery process.
9. Remember to Save Your Recovered Files Safely: To ensure the safety of your recovered data, choose a save location different from the source you're recovering from to prevent any potential data overwriting.

It worked! thank you.
Absolutely great presentation of the use of this program. I’ve completed the scan seamlessly. My questions are: 1) how do I know what to restore and not (some files seem super important, but I don’t remember ever deleting them), and what got me into this mess in the first place was that I had a momentary lapse of brain activity and thought that “cleaning up” the “recent” folder would be ok, “they’re just sort of like dupe files and not the original.” Don’t even ask. *Then* my ocd said I needed to then delete the trash bin. And here we are. Question 2: after I recover them onto an external drive, am I going to have to forever use that drive to access these files? Or can I rename them and move them to their internal drive spot?
Thank you! Thank you!
Preview your files with the Eye icon and recover files that can be fully previewed. After recovery is done, you can move and rename your files.
@@cleverfiles thanks so much! I’ve also been getting help from Mit via support email. He’s helped me so much. I appreciate you guys! I’m just about done with my recovery project now. It’s incredible how long it actually takes.
I installed the software, then the window with Grant Full Access appears. Then I go and I grant full access, then I restart the software. Then again the window with grant full access appears. But the full access is already granted. Basically does not start. It just continously asks for full access which is already granted.
I use MacOs Sonoma and I have a 2019 Mac Os 16 inch Intel Based

is it need actiavtion code to recover it ?
Hi I wanna ask something. So I empty everything in the bin and I can't seem to find them even after running the program. Can you please tell me where to look for this specific type of deleted files?
You can filter files by size or date modified and you can try using the search bar. However, note that Deep Scan does not recover files with their file names intact. The file you need may be in the list, but you don’t recognize it because it has been given a name like “file123.doc” or “180×600.jpg”.
Try to filter the results by file type, date and size and then preview each file by clicking the “eye” icon next to the name to see if it is the file you need. Mind that file name and the original folder are metadata that quite often can't be recovered.
Hi, I'm currently running disk drill on my 2012 Mac Pro it's been running for around 12 hrs and still completing the process however I'm only trying to cover all my photos which were in the photos app. At the moment I see 9 different file formats in folders, including thumbnail images stored from the web etc. How do I separate so I can save my photos and videos from the photo app? and not have a jumbled mess to sort through. I'm talking 100,000 images so far. Thanks

Hi there! Looks like a great software. Is there also a way to recover data from a HDD that was accidentally formatted from NTFS to APFS? It was a quick format, so the data itself should not be overwritten. Thank you! 🙂 Pino
You're welcome to scan your drive with Disk Drill. Make sure to check file previews before recovering.
Sir it is asking for upgrade, so how can I recover my reconstructed file? I haven't any activation code.
If you can fully preview your files, you're welcome to upgrade here www.cleverfiles.com/pro.html
Hi, Disk Drill is not recognizing one of the SD cards that I am trying to scan. Disk drill did recognize all of my other SD card, so I know I am following all of the instructions. Do you know how I can get it to recognize this one particular card? Thanks!

this is trustful ?? means if it connected / can be change in the pc , can it use our data ??
It is completely safe and secure.
Can it find files deleted from the Microsoft Outlook temp folder?
Scan your drive with Disk Drill to see what can be recovered from it.
I tried to scan 2 of my SD cards from my Mac after reformat, but nothing show up. Is this a setting issue ?

Can you recover up to 500 MB on MacOS or is it solely on PC? Each time I try using the free version they ask me to upgrade although I’m only recovers 230 MB.
For Windows users, you can recover up to 500 MB of files at no cost. Mac users can only preview files at no charge, file recovery requires upgrading to the Pro version.
What happened to Quick Scan? I'd really love to get my files with the metadata still intact and I'm told QS can do this but Deep Scan cannot. Only DS is showing up for me. Help?
The Quick Scan option is available for specific Volumes. Or you can click the Search for Lost Data button, it applies all available scanning options.
@@cleverfiles Yeah, "search for lost data" is what I did. It brought up a ton of files, but no metadata. Everything in the "deleted or lost" section seems to have the metadata. Is THAT the Quick Scan results? Amazingly, my TXT files are there as well, which is a huge relief because they were not showing up in my "Reconstructed" drop-down section (which I assume is the Deep Scan results).
HI I Purchased your software to try and rescue logic pro files from a fusion drive on a imac 2014 that decided to stop working and give me that stupid flashing question mark its a 1.2TB so put a diff os on a external drive got a systen up and running and bought your software to see if it could help and so far its done 2 scans and crashed both times and I had to restart every time. Its done a small recovery but the files are nonsense I need help in making sense in this data and what it recovered as so far its just nonsense.

Am I doing this wrong? All I see are files that already exist and don't need recovering yet it gives me the option to recover them

I am able to recover my .mp4 files but it does not show the preview and when I try to open the files it says there was an error that occurred and that the file may be corrupt. These are GoPro videos that I accidentally deleted from the GoPro itself so I am thinking it may be a case of fragments of the file that are missing. Can you please provide any guidance?

What if you can't find the file you want to recover? Is it gone for good
Disk Drill offers various filtering options and a search function to help you locate your file more efficiently. You can filter files by type, size, date modified, etc., or use the search bar to search for specific filenames. If it does not help, you're welcome to contact support at help@cleverfiles.com
I recovered my client wedding but some reason I can't play them it doesn't play.

Why has it recovered 9T worth of data when I only had 3T of data to begin with?
Disk Drill searches for all possible data found in different states, so you can see the same files but in different conditions found by different scanning algorithms - this is the reason why you see a bigger amount of data than the drive has
hey I accidentally formatted my sd card that I had in a ddi pocket 3 I have not used the sd card since I formatted it and I am trying to use dickdrill but for some reason only recover and archive light up? I need photo and video to light up. anyone know why?
