Just bought this boat from TG Saturday. Alex and his dad were AMAZING at selling this wonderful product. Their customer service and time they spent with me was like no other. Amazing people to do business with and couldn’t be happier with the Big Rig FD! Thank you Alex!
So far I have bought a Jackson Big Tuna and a Blue Ski Boatworks Angler 360 from these guys. I have had a great experience with them both times. As soon as I sell my Big Tuna I'll be buying one of these new Big Rig FD's from these guys.
@@jayrough1413 The storage and stability is off the charts. I highly recommend you try one out before you buy if possible. Personally I would also make sureto have an easy way to transport (trailer or pickup truck).
@@tgcanoesandkayaks Dual Left and Right like the Hobies. I demoed the Coosa Fd and didn't like the steering at all. Absolutely love the idea though of the drive kicking up when hitting something or running shallow.
I hope I am not misunderstanding, all Jackson pedal kayaks have steering controls on the left and right side of the kayak just like Hobie. Hobie uses a left right turning action while Jackson uses the forward back action. I agree the kick up prop was a great design on the Jackson. Its always a great idea to try before you buy, glad you are getting the opportunity to do so. Appreciate your feedback.
Have you experienced any tracking issues with the Big Rig FD? I purchased the Coosa FD so I could fish with two hands while still moving. Unfortunately, because the kayak does not track straight I always tend to have one hand on the rudder steering knobs. As a result, I designed and fabricated my own larger rudder which is self-retracting so you can still fish in shallow water. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/gX1CZFJNjnY/v-deo.html
I have found many peddle kayaks on rivers don't always allow me to free both hands consistently. I have had no issues with the HDFD. I watched your video, looks like a really great idea for more steering. Thanks for sharing.
Biggest adjustment I made when in a pedal kayak, is to go at a relaxed pedal speed. I have found peddling harder to try and gain 20% more speed just doesn't work in any peddle kayak, it burns my legs out very quickly. The drive design is great I will agree.

Our pleasure Dorion, Enjoy it!! Let me know if you need anything -Alex
Is this kayak good for open ocean waters??
Yeah I believe it will do well.
Can you get this without the pedals
Yes, BigRig HD is the non peddle drive version
Do you ship to jersey ?
Hey, sorry we do not ship kayaks.
What about transducer mounting? By utilizing the rod storage you couldn't use a yak attack arm mount. Very curious about this
A arm swing can go up and over the rods in an ark form.
How does it handle in open water against the wind in heavy chop
In the chop its great, very stable, handles fine in the wind as well.
Could you send me a price.
Prices change every year, head over to Jackson's website for current pricing.

Hi Benson, looking forward to it. I have a demo model FD, come try it out sometime -Alex
Is this kayak still available? I can't seem to find it, not even on their site.
Yes the Big Rig FD is available
Hmmm nice but I don't think its convincing enough to give up my Titan 13.5....Jackson is sweet tho
Titan's are great as well!
is the steering handle by the chair stiff like the coosa hd? i assume they used the same rudder system
It feels very similar to the Coosa FD in my opinion, with a different handle.
What camera u using
I used a GoPro Hero 7 Black
Oh wow surprising quality from a go pro. Thx for the response
Are y’all the new owners
Same owners nothing has changed here at TG
That seems to really track well Especially in choppy water and that current
Howdy Jay, the HDFD Tracks well imo. The under-stern rudder makes for easy turning as well.
@@tgcanoesandkayaks I am really considering this kayak it has tons of room and it looks super stable as well I just have to find one

@@tgcanoesandkayaks you are right I definitely need a trailer for sure. I have a jeep with a trailer hitch thank God
@@tgcanoesandkayaks out of curiosity would it be possible to fit a kid in it with a cushion seat?

Still think the steering design is all wrong. And need a bigger tankwell. Jackson is close with this one, but not quite there yet.
I am interested in hearing what you think should be changed to the steering. What design do you believe would be best?

@@tgcanoesandkayaks that's what I meant. I prefer the L & R rather then U & D. Just a preference.
I got ya now, the L-R over the U-D.

@@tgcanoesandkayaks - Just because they don't typically track straight doesn't mean that they shouldn't. Hopefully, I have corrected this design flaw
I absolutely love this design, but man that flex drive gets really hard to pedal after about 30 minutes.
