I just found you and I have to say, you're an EXCELLENT teacher. You don't skip the small things and often the small things are the things that get us stuck. Your presentation flows in a way that helps the new information be understood in the order required that layers on top of previous things taught. I like you! Hope you're still teaching.
Thank you so much for these tutorials, they are so helpful, I’ve been scared of using word and excel for fear of being unable to learn them well, but you explain everything really well and I can’t believe how much I’ve progressed by binge watching your videos for the last week! Kindness comes in many forms and this is truly one of them. 😊 Thank you I now feel nearly ready to start my new job on Monday 🤞🏻
Thank you so much for sharing! I have been watching your Excel videos daily. In just a few days, I have learned so much!! Saved me tons of time at work!
Amazing video. Everything has been explained in a very simple and understandable manner. I had been struggling to understand formatting and could really not understand fully. This video has explained everything very nicely and now I can make tables and format them without any problem. Thanks a lot for wonderful videos.
Thank you very much! You truly are not just Excel sorcerer, but amazing teacher! Amazing how you explain in simplified, understandable way something that is normally difficult to understand. I have been dreading of Excel , but with your tutorials I am mastering it for my new job. Your videos are so addictive, I've got hooked up! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This is awesome! It can sometimes be difficult to see the important parts of a spreadsheet. My go to conditional formatting are the color scales but I’m going to start using Icon Sets more.
Thank you so much for your excellent diction and patient, thorough style of teaching. I am really learning a lot from you. I hope you're making some good money for doing this, because you deserve it. These videos are soooo helpful.
Ive watched so much excel vids and your the only one I can handle hearing and thank you for the DL 'workbooks' on the intermed course. Your def the best out there for this and worth subscribing to for future ref. Im writing my test tonight.... Thanks agian!
oh Gosh. You make us addictive to your Tutorials and make it as interesting as getting involved in a game - puzzle or say even a free cell game. Cheers. Keep up the flow,
how lucky i feel to have followed your content for some years that i landed on this page now from a forage jpmorgan excel course learning material link.
great video thanks but how do you conditional format according to type? e.g. Genre in your movie dataset? Make all Fantasy movies one colour for example? Is it just Highlight that which contains specfic text? Thanks
Thank you for your video, this is the most clear and best explanation I've seen on this topic, kudos to you, I will check out the content of your channel! :-)
Video is quite informative ! However -would like to know as to why we didn't choose $ sign when selecting the range in greater that or any condition we need to format to.. ex- you chose 9.99 as an example and not $9.99 in first ex.
Urgent, please. I need conditional formatting using an IF/THEN/ELSE option. is this possible? Does the data have to be in table function? Example - If column F contains the word YES, then place a symbol (such as a green check mark or a yellow caution sign) into cell C10 and highlight it blue, else, highlight cell red and enter the solution for the formula using column G multiplied by column Z +15 divided by 3, and copy/paste the symbol (or number) now in C10 into X10 formatted as a % (if C10 is a number, else fill cell X10 with an orange flag). Is this complexity possible and if so, how to do it? Can anyone help? Thanks. (PS> So glad I just found your videos! Great explanations!)
Your videos are so easy to understand and have helped me greatly at work. However, I din't see a video that would cover multi formula's within one cell that would answer my concern. I have a rather complex situation within excel. How to make a cell change colours as the date within the cell progressively advances. i.e. I have 3 cells, B27, B28 and B29. B27 is the start date of an audit, B28 is the last date on site and B29 is when the report is due. I have 45 days to complete each part of the audit. Cell B27 contains a "start date" of the audit, which needs to remain permanent. Cell B28 is the "last day on site" This cell will change colour when the date progresses from +1 to +25 days from the audit start date. Then changes to another colour when the date reaches +26 to +45 days from the audit start date. Cell B29 is the "Report Due" This cell also needs to change colours as the date progresses from the "Last day on Site" i.e. When the date is +1 to +25 days from the "Last day on Site" could be "Yellow" and changes to "Red" from the +26 days to +45 days. Any help or videos on doing this would be greatly appreciated.
How do you conditional format other cells based on a different cell's value? Or is this possible? Example: back in your checkbox video, let's say I wanted the entire line with the name and everything be formatted based off whether or not the checkbox is checked and the following cell says "false" or "true."
Amazing videos! However, as a teacher, I wish I would have access to the file he is using, so that I can use in my class. Does he upload the file somewhere that I do not see?
😢Identify accounts that have not been cross-sold with Product 2 by highlighting the appropriate Product 2 cells in orange. How do i do this please help
Hello.I have 2007 excel and that's ok. So far I have done some of the work on my Student Record on excel. So far I set the checkbox and put the names of my students in. Now this record is pass or fail. This is for a martial arts school. The check box is indicate that the student passed. Also I have Drop list where all the ranks are listed. One column contains the current rank and another have the new rank if they pass. Now how I set up the new rank column to display the new rank when I click the checkbox?
You should have added the worksheet which you are showcasing in the video it might help the lenerners to practise in a better way . by watching this video simultenoulsy.
I want to conditionally format a column of dates if they are before the current date AND if the adjacent column equals a certain value. Is that possible?
Hi all. I m working for medical lab reporting system build in excel. I need to do conditional formatting for a cell containing test value based on following criteria. Conditions: 1> There is a cell where user enters Gender either Male or Female. 2> Normal range for a Male for a particular lab test is between 10 and 20. 3> Normal range for a Female for a particular lab test is between 15 and 25. 4> Depending on the Gender and related value, the cell value should be formatted. 5> Example 1: if gender is Male and cell value is between 10 and 20, its normal and no formatting else format the test value cell. 6> Example 2: if gender is Female and cell value is between 15 and 25, its normal and no formatting else format test value cell. I m desperately waiting for helps.
How do I configure a date format such that the 1st - 10th of every month is given no value or 0 , but 11th to the end of every month (30th or 31st) to be given a 1, how do I do that using conditional formatting or if statement? any leads or help will be appreciated. Thanks
I'm trying to create a workbook to track how long work has been outstanding in our office. I want one column to hold the date we received that piece of work and the next column to be a counter for the number of days it has been outstanding. Between 1-6 days I want the cell to be green. From day 7 I would like the cell to go red as we should have dealt with it by then. Can anyone help or signpost me to a video that will tell me how to conditionally format the workbook to achieve this. Thanks

Sir Can i get this data for practice. because you won't upload this excel sheet data in the discription. please upload this data practice sheet in Discription or Comment Box Asae Earlier./immidiately please. while you upload xlsx data sheet file please reply me.
Ok... clearly you're an Excel Expert. Maybe you could help me format something. Ok, let me lay it out for you. I have one excel sheet (we'll call it Sheet2) that auto-refreshes it's data from a website, so the positions of the data can and will change from update-to-update. I have a second excel sheet (we'll call it Sheet1), where I'm trying to conditionally format the cell (if that's what I'm even supposed to be doing) to pull data from Sheet2... Layout... *Sheet2* Column A is the Name, Column B is a Number corresponding to Column A's Name. What I want to do in Sheet1 is have conditional formatting (over whatever I'm really looking to do) search Sheet2 for a name, then update a cell in Sheet1 with the corresponding number from Sheet2 Column B (Number). Example: Column A Column B John $85.00 Carl $45.00 Paul $610.00 Steve $58.00 I want to be able to write a formula to search for Paul, then plug in an input for the $610.00 from Column B. Is that possible?
I got a job because of your videos. Thanks!
congratulations!

These tutorials are amazing. Thank you so much for your videos !!!
Very good presentation. I learned that using the icons is a symbol of how the data is divided.
Outstanding. Thank you. It makes dealing with numbers a lot less scary.
You are a great teacher.
Thank you so much.. I was searching for conditional formatting in your channel
At time marker 1:53 perhaps you could select the entire column D. Then hold the control button to deselect D2.

Can you use conditional formatting for the checkbox itself? For example: If cell contains “X” then reset (uncheck) checkbox.

=SUM(B$3:INDEX(B$3:B3,ROWS(B$3:B3)-1))
