One day, a man casting a part in a film called Mr. Caselotti and asked if he had anyone with operatic training who was about 14 years old for a certain role. Someone else was listening on the line. Find out more in this episode of Paul Harvey's "the Rest of the Story."

I doubt that I have seen Snow White in the last 40 (maybe 50) years but I can still hear that iconic voice as if it was yesterday. You hit the nail on the head when you said immortality. She earned far more recognition than she received.

I love knowing the story now! Thank you! She voiced that part perfectly, and she almost looked the part, too.

Now I need to see if I can find my SnowWhite DVD. I believe I saw the film in the theater in 1987. The old animation process is amazing.

I watched it again as part of the research for this. I still enjoyed it…maybe more than when I was a child. :)

I guessed Sleeping Beauty. I was wrong. LOL Thank you for the rest of the rest of the story. Great job, Brad.

My granddaughters and I probably watch it at least once a year. It's wonderful!

I still watch it too. I use my son as an excuse to watch it. :)

@BradDison Yes! I'm old enough now to not care at all and watch whatever I want (lots of Disney and other "kid" stuff). Lol

I love all those interesting details. Oddly enough, I don't know why my parents never sent me to this movie. Yup, I've never seen it! That staggering number of cells produced for each second of the film is mind blowing! Still, another sad story of how people in Hollywood get screwed out of their just dues!

I can only imagine how Mr. Walt Disney would feel about what's going on in Walt-Disney today!?
They're trying to *remake iconic films* that just need to be left alone, cherished & appreciated for what they are!

I agree with you on that one. What made Mr. Disney special was his seemingly endless fresh ideas. That seems to have gotten lost along the way, as far as films go. I've never had the opportunity to visit a Disney park. :)

    Talked about shoes
Google Chopines, platform shoes that were worn by women in the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries.
