I really like the leather pouch you made with the additional quilted sections. So glad you enjoyed your granddaughter, and I am amazed at your crochet work!😊
Thank you so much for your kind comment. I will be so sad to see that pouch go and I made a couple more which was sewing themed for my American friends. Now I need to make one for me! Have a good week 🧵😊
Super makes! Your LBD is going to last for years and will be one less worry as you approach performances. I like the way the thinner fabric drapes in the swingy skirt. A pretty colorful scarf will brighten it up and tie in whatever seasonal celebrations you are performing for. The pouch is wonderful. It's nice to have thoughtful friends who know us well. Your Disney socks are perfect for Chris' birthday celebration. My kids aren't coming till January so I just put out a ceramic Christmas tree and artfully arranged a few things around my fireplace and called it a day. Looks cheery but not overwhelming and no heavy lifting boxes up and down the stairs. Thanks for the video today! It was a lovely departure from the Vlogmas I am following.
Thanks so much for your comment Nancy. You are right about the lighter weight Ponte, even though I moaned about it. It just needs a slip under it which is quite easy to fix. I picked up a red scarf today from a Charity shop which I think will be perfect, we had the same idea. I am glad you have put a few decorations out, that is sensible and yes, no need for going into the loft unnecessarily! I loved Deb's gifts and that was so generous of her wasn't it, it isn't cheap to post from the US. I am so glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you have a good weekend 🧵😊
Hi Carole, lovely video today. Your black dress for your music event is very nice and suits you perfectly. So much amazing stuff from your friend, you were smiling so much when opening. Your crocheted items are lovely, glad you shared them with us. Thank you ☺
Thanks so much Babbra. I honestly can't believe I haven't made a black dress for our concerts before now 🤣. I have been in it for nearly 20 years and we have three performances a year. I normally try to squeeze into a black pair of trousers and each time they get tighter and tighter! Deb is just such a lovely person and I am so glad I have met her a couple of times. The funny thing is she has visited more of the UK than I have I think and knows my area well. Hope you have a good weekend 🧵😊
Love the drape on that dress Carole. I hope the concert goes well. What a bummer and extremely annoying that your Juki came back not completely repaired. 🥹I‘m sure everyone will be thrilled with their presents. Brillant idea with storing your needles in those pill boxes. Superbly interesting vlog. Thank you! 🙋🏼♀️👍🧵
Oh thank you so much for such kind comments on my video! I am learning to live with the Juki for the time being as I need it for so many projects. I am so glad I found a use for one of those pill boxes and now to fill the other one! Have a wonderful week 🧵😊
What a fab LBD, Carole! So versatile, and will be a workhorse! I love the color of your “Toaster Sweater”! Gorgeous zippered pouches, also! Quilted faux leather looks amazing, if you ever decide to try that! Bummer about your machine! Hopefully, they won’t keep it as long next time! What a creative use of the pill organizer! Deb is the sweetest, and so thoughtful! I hope Chris is feeling better! Those crocheted items are amazing! 😘💗
Thanks so much Andra and the dress did me proud on Monday! It was nice and comfy to play in. Quilted faux leather now that sounds interesting for my next craze maybe in the New Year. I could make one of Adam's Hipster pouches in it 👏🏼 Hope alls well with you and Christmas plans are on schedule! Thanks for watching 🤗💕
Thank you so much Debbie. I am inching closer to 60 myself but I am so glad Chris hits it a year before me 🤣. To be honest I think you get to the stage where you just want it over with! Have a good weekend 🧵😊
I certainly was heavily into crochet a few years ago! The mobile was my favourite too and I managed to get a musical part to put on the top. Thanks so much for watching 🧵😊
Love the Little Black Dress. It will be nice to have that in your closet for future concerts My granddaughters are in a choir and every performance they need a black dress. Fortunately they are not difficult to find for little girls. I really don't like sewing on black. So hard on the eyes. Your blue sweater is so pretty. And looks very cozy for the winter. It has gotten really cold here so I have been able to wear all my winter sweaters I made the last few years. I am finishing up a couple of small things for Christmas and then on to making the bomber jackets for my granddaughters. We are celebrating after Christmas with them so I have plenty of time to make the jackets. Love those little pouches, they are so cute. Thanks for sharing and it was really fun seeing all the sweet crochet items you made for you grandson.
Hi Carol, I hate sewing on black too and I meant to say that in my video. These days I just can't see the black thread on the black fabric so I am almost sewing blind! Your granddaughters will love those bomber jackets, you sew so much for them it is wonderful. Oh how I wish I had the time to crochet things like that now 😂 I have too much sewing to do! Have a great week 🧵😊
Thanks so much, I might have moaned about that Ponte but it did make the dress hang better like you say. I did have fun doing those crochet pieces, wish I still did some! Have a good week 🧵😊
Oh my goodness those toys and blankets are so cute ! I love your little black dress, it will be so versatile !I've been sewing PJ bottoms for my Grandchildren ( I have 10 ) so my machine has been humming along. Have a lovely week !
Oh my goodness....10 Grandchildren and you sew for all of them! As you say your machine must be on overdrive. Well done you 👏🏼 Thanks so much for watching 🧵😊
Oh those photos at the end put a smile on my face first photo and Micky Mouse is in the blanket 😊and then more Disney popped up, well I’m 68 and still can’t crochet so well done for learning how to crochet 👍 everything as per usual was stunning and the leather bags were gorgeous. I’m so pleased you had a fun time looking after your granddaughter. Enjoy the sew social I’m spending the afternoon sewing with my grandson ❤
Thanks so much Sandra, I had so much fun crocheting those Mickey Mouse squares, I did go on to make another two and one of them features in some of my videos when I film in the cabin at the bottom of the garden! How wonderful you can share your sewing passion with a little one in your family...I live in hope! Have a good week 🧵😊
Love your makes from this week and yay for all gift sewing being done!!! How cool that you found the perfect use for those pill containers. I’m in awe of your crochet makes - I tried to learn crochet a few years ago and barely managed to make a blanket. You are seriously talented! I hope Chris’ back feels better soon. Xx 💞
Well I thought I had done all the gifts but I've just cut out two Reading Pillows for the boys 🤣. It was a friend of mine that challenged me one year to make some Crochet Christmas Stars and I was hooked from there. The only blankets I have done are one with squares that are sewn together, I honestly don't think I could do a massive blanket. Little squares make it manageable! Never say never. Chris is on the mend thank you, hopefully the tree can go up this weekend. I really hope you feel better soon, its such bad timing for germs. Take care xxx💗
You’re so clever with that storage of your needles! Just brilliant! Your leather bag is just beautiful!! I’ll have to give that a go! What gorgeous gifts!!! Oh I loved seeing your “crochet era” how wonderful!!! They are stunning!
That pill box was hilarious, you could put a packet a day in there! I am so glad I found a use for it, now I just have to fill the other one. Buying those leather(ette) pieces was such a fortunate purchase for me, I have had such fun with them and adding that quilted patch was much quicker than the embroidery 🤣. I have no idea how I did any of that crochet now, funny how quickly we forget these things. Hope you have a great weekend and thanks for watching 🧵😊
Im loving all the zip pouches and that black dress is so pretty! Wish I could find that pattern. Oh no your Juki!!!! I cant believe it came back unfixed. What a brilliant idea for your needles! Im copying that idea!!! How sweet of Deb! She sent me a very sweet package too. She is so thoughtful! How kind of her to include Chris.OMG all your crochet is AMAZING! Carole you are so talented!!!! You never cease to amaze me! Hope Chris's back is better soon. My Mum twistwd her back and has been down for two weeks now. Hugs and love to you all!!!
Hi my lovely!! Thanks so much for watching my video. Deb really is a gem isn't she and so generous, it isn't cheap to post stuff anymore is it! When I look back at that crochet I wonder how I ever had the time but then I remember....Katie lived three hours away from me then 🤣🤣. I wish I could remember how I did some of that. I am so sorry to hear about your Mum, that is awful. I hope she is doing ok and recovers quickly. I am sure you are giving her the best care, she is such a sweetheart. 🥰. Have a good week and I am missing you a LOT! xxxx💗
Thank you so much, you can't beat UA-cam for learning things can you! I have no idea how to do any of it anymore sadly. Chris is on the mend thank goodness, thank you for your good wishes. Have a good weekend 🧵😊
Carole that dress is Gorgeous!!! Good for you doing all that sewing for yourself! The sweater is so pretty too! That zipper pouch! Nice! And Chris was so funny-“thanks for telling everyone I’ll be 60”😂😂 Who knew Carole was also a talented crocheter? Love the mobile ☁️ I’m being naughty and didn’t make a Friday sews this week but hopefully I will next week -😊Have a great weekend!❤❤❤
Hi Mary, thanks so much you are so sweet! You have no idea how nervous Chris was opening that parcel, let alone being on camera 🤣. I was a talented crocheter once but I have literally no idea how I did any of that now. I loved that mobile so much and managed to get a music part for it as well. It is probably on a dump heap now sadly knowing my daughter or moth eaten in a loft 😥 No Friday Sews?!? You will be banished from the club 🤣🤣NOT! There is too much going on for everyone so I really wouldn't worry. Take care and have a good weekend too 💗😘
Beautiful black dress. Your videos are so relaxing to me. I hope hubby is better soon, almost nothing worse than a bad back. (shhh, between you + me, he doesn't look like he's going to turn 50, let alone 60) I love the crochet toys.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment on my videos, I really appreciate that. Chris did his back moving the Grandsons car seats into my car so I feel a little guilty 🤣. I will let him know what you said as right now he is feeling really old! Have a good weekend 🧵😊
I am so glad you liked the pouch, I couldn't believe how well it came out! You are right, there is no better thing in life than being a Grandparent 🥰 Thanks for watching and enjoy your weekend 🧵😊
I had problems with the auto cut on my machine and discovered I needed to hold the cut button a second or two longer and works wonders. Sometimes I get in a hurry and push the cut button to quick, doesn’t cut. Hope this helps. Keep sending out those lovely videos. So enjoy watching you. Kathy
Thanks so much for your comment and actually that is something I will take on board. It works about 75% of the time so maybe I am doing the same thing. I do have a control on the foot pedal as well as the machine so I will try to hold both for longer. Thanks again and have a great week 🧵😊
Thanks so much for your comment and watching. I have an overlocker and separate Cover stitch machine but yes actually, a combo one would be a lot better as you wouldn't need to swap threads all the time! Why didn't I think of that?! Have a good weekend 🧵😊
Great ideas as always! I have made the Kira knit top from Style Arc and Derwent trousers from Wendy Ward. I made them both in 4 hours and so comfy like secret pyjamas! We have our family dinner on 22nd as my husband and I are heading to Canary Islands for 9 days and hopefully won’t need warm outfits there 😂 so it will be a summer outfit for Christmas Day. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas 🎅🏻 🤶 xx
That is so funny I read your comment about the Kira today as Izzy (Dizzy Quilts and Sews) mentioned it in her Vlogmas yesterday and I looked it up! You did a great job making those two garments up in 4 hours, well done. I am extremely envious of your trip to the Canary Islands even though it feels like we have only just come back from there, it is so wonderful at this time of year. Hope you have a fantastic Christmas over there with lots of lovely sunshine. Take care and thanks for watching 🧵😊
@@socarole66 Oh this is exciting I will have to catch up with Izzy, I usually do this on my way to and from work and on my way to see Mum is residential care. All these trips are about 20/25mins so you can get through quite a few in a week! The only problem is because you listen more than watch (driving) you sometimes want to find something that someone has said or want to look at and then you go back and can’t find it!! Anyway it was a super easy pattern and have worn it again today and my friends always laugh when I say I made this in a few hours 😂 we sewist’s are just fabulous and I tell everyone that all our clothes are made but I think some people don’t get that at all! Our clothes are made with love and care not in a factory and isn’t it just wonderful when they end up so good and wearable 😀 I know we have a few disappointing results but on the whole most are great. Sorry for the long reply and thanks again for the heads up. Can’t wait for the 21 degree heat 😉🎄🎅🏻
Hi Carole! So glad you enjoyed the little gift package. It's just a little something to celebrate the season. You have had a lot going on there but it all sounds wonderful to me! Tell Chris -- 60 isn't bad! Man, I wish I were just 60!! Have a good time at your concert!
Hi Deb! Chris and I BOTH loved your package, it was so generous of you. Chris is struggling a bit with being 60 but isn't it the new 50?! It is my turn the following year 🤣. Thanks so much for stopping by and people miss your videos!! xxx
OH, Carole, tell Chris that age is just a number. Most times I can't believe that I will be 74 in a few months but, I have to confess, I know that I move a bit slower these days. Even so, I'd rather be turning a year older than the alternative. You know what I mean? You just have to make each day count in some way. Live your life to the fullest!
@ I know exactly what you mean and I hate it when people say 'you don't want to get old' YES you do otherwise you die young! Deb, you do not look 74 🥰xx
Shortly after my first husband died, I came to the conclusion that life can be far too short and that a person needs to live life to the fullest; do whatever makes you happy...but definitely do nothing that could be harmful to you or your loved ones, or that could be illegal. That's my motto.
Your makes are lovely as usual. You are so resourceful thinking of a great use for your pill boxes. I’m glad you had a good time with your granddaughter. They are so lovely at that age. Enjoy your concert, Pat
Thanks so much for your comment. I am one of those people that can never throw anything away and those pill boxes needed to find a purpose! You are right Pat, I consider myself really lucky to have 3 Grandchildren at such young ages at the moment, these are the precious years aren't they. I will TRY to enjoy the concert but unfortunately I am normally a nervous wreck for these things! 🧵😊
Hi Carole, I love your little black dress! It’s perfect for your band performance 🙌🏻🙌🏻. I’m not sewing any Christmas gifts this year, as I have many plans that have fallen behind 😫😫. I’ve never sewn with faux leather, but now seeing the pouches you made, it seems very doable 👍. I can’t believe that they didn’t fix your machine, ugh 🤦♀️. Take care and Happy Sewing 💖💖
Thanks so much Karen. Hope the black dress makes me play well tonight 😆. I get you re the gifts as I got overwhelmed this year but it's all my fault, sewing those pouches became addictive. So cross about my machine but let's hope it gets fixed in the New Year. Have a great week xx💕
Hi Zelda! I wish I could say that thread cutter was an easy fix but sadly that is the part they have already replaced. They now say it must be the sensor 😫. Give those pouches a try, they are great fun to do xx
Thanks so much, I know I will get a lot of use out of that dress as we normally have three concerts a year! Crochet is such fun once you get the hang of it. Thanks for watching 🧵😊
I love the top! Beautiful color❤️ I made a jacket out of a faux cashmere knit. The buttonholes are stretching, so I have to do something. I wished I’d waited and seen your video first 🥰 that jacket would be a top❤️ Love your black dress. It’s perfect for events where you need a black dress😊 My ASG group met last week to plan our next year! We had so much fun. We’ve made big plans. Some crafting items, but going to learn more about embroidery machine sewing. A few great trips planned. It’s fun to be with others that share your passion.
Hi Cheryl, oh your group sounds like so much fun and I do love doing crafting as much as sewing, it is nice to do something different! At last I have a black dress, I haven't had one for years. I wish I could do a course on Embroidery I am sure I have lots to learn! You will have to give me tips. Have a super weekend 🧵😊
Hi Carole, I've said it before, but you have some lovely friends! What lovely gifts you got. Your sewing week was very successful and your makes are perfect. That pouch is gorgeous. Have a great week and I hope your concert goes well on Monday.
Oh Annette, I really do have the best friends and it is all down to UA-cam!! I never get over their generosity and sending parcels abroad is so expensive now. I will admit I am very proud of the pouch and I did do another couple that have been sent to the US, watch out for them! Thanks so much for the good wishes on the concert, I have literally just finished some practice which is rare for me 🤣 Have a good week 🧵😊
I love your blue toaster sweater, it's a pattern I love too but funnily enough I've made that version but not the other one. Your pouch looked lovely, I can understand why a part of you didn't want to gift it, the recipient is very lucky. A great ideas for your needle storage, might need to pinch that one.
Thanks so much. I have worn the jumper today and have loved it as it didn't feel 'too much' if you know what I mean. I use the other view for sweatshirts all the time. Yes, I am very sad to see the bag go! I may need to make myself one now. Have a good week 🧵😊
Carole, the dress looks perfect for lots of occasions and great for your performance. Cute idea for your pouches. You've really made the most of that purchase. The crocheted items for your grandson are very impressive! So many adorable things but the mobile with the airplanes is amazing. You are very talented. Don't stress the decorating. You have time. Hope Chris feels better.
Thanks so much Kathy. I really have got my moneys worth of those faux leather pieces and they didn't cost much to begin with! That plane mobile was probably the best thing I did and I managed to get the musical part for it as well. We have just finished the decorating..phew! I feel a bit more in control now 😅 Have a great week and Chris is better now thank goodness. 🧵😊
Thanks Nancy, if my machine wasn't only a year old I wouldn't worry about the thread cutter believe me! That is the trouble you kind of expect things to work on new machines don't you but are much more forgiving on older machines. Thanks for watching and I am glad you liked the crochet 🧵😊
Fabulous makes; I’m especially in love with the bag! I wanted to play the oboe. In 7th grade my instructor got me started but after 6 or 8 bad reeds, I was behind. I switched to the alto clarinet and stayed with that through high school. I’m going to check out Deb’s channel. I’d love to find a community special here in the states! Hopefully she’ll have some ideas! Happy holidays!
Thanks so much for your comment and reeds ....argh!!!! They are a nightmare. You can buy a wonderful one and then order exactly the same one again from a company and it is awful 😫. That actually is all Oboe players talk about! Clarinets have a much easier time with just the one reed! I played the flute until I was 50 and it is still my first love, you just pick it up and play with no hassle. Deb really is a treasure and worth checking out. Thanks again 🧵😊
My machine is not a Juki but there is a little arm on the left that slides over easily. You can then clean any bits of fluff etc. out of that area. The other thing is, do you need the blade replaced. They are available at most hardware stores. Good luck. I have to drive 2f hours one way to get my machine serviced. Your friend’s gift was so thoughtful and nice. I love all your crochet items. They are beautiful. I have never conquered more than a granny square.
Hi Joanne, thanks so much for your comment on my machine. They have replaced the thread cutter mechanism as that was one of the problems so it 'shouldn't' be an issue. They think it is the sensor now 😫. I do have a lady in my town that does sewing machine services but because the Juki isn't even a year old it is still under warrantee I don't really have a choice but to go back to them. At least I don't have a 2 hour drive like you, I shouldn't complain!! Have a good week 🧵😊
@@joanneblair2087 ha ha no worries I didn't even think anything of it! I know how odd these keypads act sometimes. I don't swear either 😊. Hope you weren't too concerned. Xx
I love the two makes for you in this video. The thumbnail with the oboe immediately caught my attention and the concert dress looks great. The softness of your turquoise top must feel so good when it is chilly :)
Thanks so much for your lovely comments. I am so glad I have that black dress now as we have three concerts a year and I struggle every time to squeeze into some old black trousers 🤣. That teal jumper is just so cosy and we have had such chilly damp weather recently, can't wait to wear it! Happy Sewing 🧵😊
I am so far behind on watching videos b/c of Xmas prep! This was a lovely virtual visit while I baste some potholders together and try not to stress out 😄. The black dress is just right and the pretty jumper looks so cozy - the quilted fabric really works well with the leatherette on that pouch, too. First year w/o a real tree for us in a while - my husband has a hernia and I didn't want to ask him to lift a tree, although I know he would. We have a backup artificial one. Our local Carol Sing in our community park for which I'm hospitality co-chair is this Wednesday, followed by cookies and hot cider in one of our local churches - I always wonder how many cookies it is advisable to eat at one time...😋! Good luck with your holiday preparation - what has to get done, gets done. The crochet is great!!!
Hi Mary, so sorry to hear about your Husband, I hope he recovers quickly. To be honest it's all about the decorations on the tree isn't it so I'm sure you won't even notice and I bet you prefer the artificial one. Just think, no needles to keep vacuuming up! 🤣 Enjoy your Carol concert, we are only playing one tonight sadly, we normally play more. Enjoy your cookies and cider! Have a good week and look after Hubby 🧵😊
Oh my goodness thank you so much. I don't think I appreciated at the time how much I enjoyed doing those pieces of crochet. I wish I had the time to do things like that now 🤣. Have a great weekend 🧵😊
Oh Carole, these days a thread cutter is a necessity not a luxury! Lol. Mine is also, sadly, broken and I feel like not having it adds so much time to my sewing and I feel like I waste thread. Ugh, my needle threader also broke yesterday! Now that's a tragedy. But I still have so many gifts to sew up, that I can't send my machine in yet. Why don't you invest in a sewing machine bag that has wheels on it, like a suitcase? I love the color combination of your newest pouch! And oh gosh, the dress looks lovely on you! Tell Chris that 60 is the new 40 and he does not look (almost) 60. Have a great week Carole!
Hi there, thanks so much for your lovely comments and I will pass that message onto Chris! I am only a year behind him scarily but at least he gets to 60 first. Sorry to hear about your needle threader, that was something I actually managed to replace myself on my Juki and my Janome. The part only cost £10 and I just popped it on! I don't know what machine you have but definitely check that out. I just bought the part and then looked on UA-cam how to do it, I can't believe I nearly got the 'menders' to do it. Having a sewing bag on wheels would actually be a fantastic idea, I envy those that have them! That will be on my birthday list, too late for Christmas 🤣. Have a great week too 🧵😊
@@socarole66 Carole, I do remember you telling us that recently but then totally forgot about it. I have a Baby Lock and will definitely look into it! You're so sweet to read our messages and take the time to return the comments. They always make me happy. I'm making some little zip pouches for friends at the moment. And since I'm using the continuous zipper tapes, I was going through all of my zipper pulls and came across my Winnie-the-Pooh pulls. They made me think of you 😊. Have a wonderful weekend.
@ Winnie the Pooh zipper pulls?! 🥰. They sound adorable. That's one thing I should really buy that would make my pouches more special, I don't have any zipper pulls and I envy all the ones people put on. I need to find some! I always like to reply to comments as I feel if someone has taking the time to write to me, I should write back. Also I love it when someone comments back to me when I watch a video 👏🏼. Have a good weekend xx
Hi Carol, love all your makes this week. How disappointing that your Juki has not been fully mended, still at least you can use it till it goes back again. Maybe when you go to pick it up you make sure all components are working, I'm sure they would let you test it before you leave the shop. Hope your ankle is improving. I think my leg strength is and am now having physio but still a couple of months off trying a jog again. Sigh......
Thanks so much Ann. I should be grateful I can at least use the Juki and it works 75% of the time! I haven't been able to jog yet, ankle still playing up a bit so I'm not risking anything! I'm trying to be sensible like you 😂. We are getting into icy pavement season anyway and I never risk that! Hope you have a great week and lovely to hear from you 🧵😊
I love your makes, Carole. Everyone needs a little black dress. I love teal blue sweater. I have the Sew House Seven Toaster Sweater. I think that Simplicity pattern is the same pattern. I have yet to sew version 2. What a nice bag that you made for your friend. Is it difficult to sew faux leather? I hope you are doing well and have a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s.
Hi Cynthia, thank you so much for watching. I have no idea why I haven't had a black dress in my wardrobe for so long! You are right about the pattern being nearly the same as the Toaster sweater, I love that pattern too. It was easy to sew that faux leather even with my Janome which is normally useless on thicker fabrics. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas too and all your plans go well xx
Hi Carole - cute little black dress. I suspect your machine is still under warranty, but if you type in "how to maintain and fix a Juki (add your machine model) thread cutter" into your UA-cam search bar, there are videos there you might want to have a quick look at. I understand the frustration. When you buy a quality product, you expect it to work. Happy sewing, anyway 😊 Bernadette
Thanks so much for your comment Bernadette. Supposedly a brand new thread cutter was put in but they think the sensor isn't right (or something!) . Everything they have done to date was under warranty so I don't want to tamper with it. It is incredibly annoying like you say as it wasn't a cheap machine! Ah well, hope you have a good weekend and Happy sewing to you too 🧵😊
Carol, you never do anything halfway, do you? That crocheting is beautiful, and it is really coming back in style, you see alot at craft shows. Love the black dress, almost got me inspired to try one!! Thanks for sharing ❤.
Thanks so much for your lovely comments on my crochet. It is a shame I stopped really but there aren't enough hours in the day! I can't believe I hadn't made a black dress before to be honest and this is such a quick one to make, give it a try. Have a good weekend 🧵😊
I have no idea how I did all that crochet but I suppose because my daughter and her family lived away from us then, I had more time 🤣🤣 I went onto make many more of the octopuses as people kept on asking me to make them! The boys do love the Rudolph that comes out every year, the other things they don't really remember sadly. Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Deb hasn't gone away for ever don't worry. She still sews and enjoys going to sewing groups at her local Sewing Shop. I am sure she will pop up on a Friday Sews very soon. Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Clicked on because of the quilting but the clothing pieces are great too. Is there a bust adjustment for the black dress pattern? Dont worry about the puckery hem as it usually can be steamed out or comes out when you wash it! 💞 A very sweet gift from your friend ( you didnt show the front of the card 😊) tyfs
Oh thank you so much, I am so glad you liked my garments as well. The dress pattern is a really basic one, in fact it is listed as a Learn to Sew pattern. I am not sure you are asking as you thought I needed to do a FBA on it? Or are you intrigued for yourself. I have worn the jumper today and to be honest I don't think I have worried about the hem at all! I am so sorry that I didn't show the card and not quite sure why I didn't to be honest as it was in the bag. Thanks again 🧵😊
Thanks so much for your comment. I didn't use a walking foot on these as I had to use a zipper foot mainly. The normal foot did well on it thank goodness when I did the main seams. I am sure it would have been easier but I didn't find the need. Happy Sewing 🧵😊
Hi Richard! Well I now play the Oboe but until I was 50 I played the Flute (and to be honest it is still my first love!). There were too many flutes in our orchestra and no oboes so I made the switch thinking it would be easy....it wasn't 🤣. Now I am stuck with it. I never took any Grades for my instruments as mainly self taught but wow, Grade 8? You must be amazing. 👏🏼
@@socarole66 Thank you Carole 🙂
Carole, I love your little black dress🥻 and your sweater top is beautiful. They both look comfy!❤
Thanks so much Zelda, that jumper is sooooooo cosy! 🧵😊
I could make one of Adam's Hipster pouches in it 👏🏼
Hope alls well with you and Christmas plans are on schedule!
Thanks for watching 🤗💕
Lovely makes this week Carole. The little bag is smashing. I was 60 this year - it was relatively painless! 😅 Have a super weekend. Xx
Thank you so much Debbie. I am inching closer to 60 myself but I am so glad Chris hits it a year before me 🤣. To be honest I think you get to the stage where you just want it over with! Have a good weekend 🧵😊
What a lovely pouch. Your black dress is very flattering.
Thank you so much, I will admit I don't want to let that pouch go but it is going to a good home. Have a good weekend 🧵😊
Holy smokes! You were a crocheting maniac!!! Those are all so adorable; that little mobile is my favorite. Have fun at your concert next week. xo
What a great idea! I have a bunch of faux leather pieces too and wasn’t sure what to do with them. Now I can make a bunch of pouches.
I warn you, making those pouches becomes addictive as they come out so well!
Thanks so much for watching 🧵😊
Beautiful LBD, I love the drape on you. Cute sweater, I love that color. 😊 such a cute pouch too. Your crochet item, how sweet ❤
Well done you 👏🏼
Thanks so much for watching 🧵😊
Love the faux leather bags. What a clever idea!
Thank you so much, they were such fun to make. 🧵😊
The crochet items are very cute…..!! 😊🇦🇺🎄
Thank you so much, I remember being so obsessed by my new hobby back then but have no idea how I did it! Have a good weekend 🧵😊
🥰. Have a good week and I am missing you a LOT! xxxx💗
Lovely makes Carole and I am in awe of your beautiful crochet work. Self taught, you are a wiz ! I hope that Chris is back in action soon ❤
Hi Catole could you add a detachable collar embroidered in red to your lovely dress - love your catch ups tku Sue x
That is a really cool idea Sue, I will look into doing that. Thanks for watching 🧵😊
It is probably on a dump heap now sadly knowing my daughter or moth eaten in a loft 😥
No Friday Sews?!? You will be banished from the club 🤣🤣NOT! There is too much going on for everyone so I really wouldn't worry. Take care and have a good weekend too 💗😘
Your makes are fabulous. I hope your concert is fun.
Thank you so much, all I ever hope for in my concerts is that it is over quickly and all goes well 🤣 xx
Very nice makes enjoy your Christmas recital ❤🎄
Thank you so much, I actually did some practising yesterday so hopefully it will go ok!
Have a good week 🧵😊
Beautiful black dress. Your videos are so relaxing to me. I hope hubby is better soon, almost nothing worse than a bad back. (shhh, between you + me, he doesn't look like he's going to turn 50, let alone 60) I love the crochet toys.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment on my videos, I really appreciate that. Chris did his back moving the Grandsons car seats into my car so I feel a little guilty 🤣. I will let him know what you said as right now he is feeling really old! Have a good weekend 🧵😊
Lovely black dress xx❤❤
Thank you so much! I have found a red scarf so I am good to go. 🧵😊
The zipper pouch was brilliant. Love it. Thanks for the tutorial. Being a “nana” is the best thing ever!❤
I am so glad you liked the pouch, I couldn't believe how well it came out! You are right, there is no better thing in life than being a Grandparent 🥰
Thanks for watching and enjoy your weekend 🧵😊
I had problems with the auto cut on my machine and discovered I needed to hold the cut button a second or two longer and works wonders. Sometimes I get in a hurry and push the cut button to quick, doesn’t cut. Hope this helps. Keep sending out those lovely videos. So enjoy watching you. Kathy
Thanks so much for your comment and actually that is something I will take on board. It works about 75% of the time so maybe I am doing the same thing. I do have a control on the foot pedal as well as the machine so I will try to hold both for longer.
Thanks again and have a great week 🧵😊
Love the teal jumper. Since you sew so many garments, a combo serger/cover stitch machine would be an invaluable tool.
@ Izzy will love to hear from you as she is nervous about the Kira instructions... or lack of them! 😊
@ Lacking in instructions seem to be a thing with them but I just winged it and I will let her know xx
Nice new makes! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Norma, I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Have a good week 🧵😊
Yay! Your Juke is back!! I'm sorry it's not cutting your threads. Very annoying, but an easy fix!❤
Your quilted zipper pouch is adorable. ❤
Hi Zelda! I wish I could say that thread cutter was an easy fix but sadly that is the part they have already replaced. They now say it must be the sensor 😫.
Give those pouches a try, they are great fun to do xx
Hi carole, love your black dress, the crochet is amazing i must keep trying to master it take care and have a wonderful christmas🎉
It’s perfect for events where you need a black dress😊
My ASG group met last week to plan our next year!
Thanks so much for the good wishes on the concert, I have literally just finished some practice which is rare for me 🤣
Have a good week 🧵😊
I feel a bit more in control now 😅
Have a great week and Chris is better now thank goodness. 🧵😊
Love the LBD! My thread cutter stopped working on my machine ages ago. My machine is old, but everything else works fine. Lovely crochet! 🥰
Always fun to see you, Carole. I appreciate seeing your sewing. Have a great concert! 😊-Deborah
Aww thank you so much Deborah! I will try and have a good concert but I am normally a nervous wreck 🤣, Have a good weekend 🧵😊
Super makes. And the crochet, just lovely. Thanks Carole
Thank you so much, I did used to enjoy crochet but I can't remember any of it! 🧵😊
@ I just reread my note. I don’t know where that f came from after the two. I don’t swear and I thought that looked very suggestive.
@@joanneblair2087 ha ha no worries I didn't even think anything of it! I know how odd these keypads act sometimes. I don't swear either 😊. Hope you weren't too concerned. Xx
I love all your makes. You are so talented.
Thank you so much Ann, that is really sweet of you! Have a good weekend 🧵😊
Goodness Carol, impressive crochet!
Looking back I have no idea how I did any of that!
Thanks for watching 🧵😊
Wow! Carol, your crocheted items are amazing and you made so many. I always look forward to seeing your videos!
Thanks so much, that is really kind of you. I really had the crochet bug badly a few years ago!
Have a great week 🧵😊
Enjoy your Carol concert, we are only playing one tonight sadly, we normally play more. Enjoy your cookies and cider!
Have a good week and look after Hubby 🧵😊
I am looking forward to sewing for me soon.
And so you should! You do so many wonderful things for your family 🥰
Such cute crochet items. I particularly like the octopus and sheep.
Thank you so much! We just moved some furniture for the Christmas tree and I found another little sheep!! How crazy is that.
Have a good week 🧵😊
I was soooo impressed with all your crocheted items...totally awesome! You are so talented!
Oh my goodness thank you so much. I don't think I appreciated at the time how much I enjoyed doing those pieces of crochet. I wish I had the time to do things like that now 🤣. Have a great weekend 🧵😊
Beautiful makes. The pouches are awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much, I do hope the people that are getting the pouches will like them too! Have a good week 🧵😊
You are very talented!
Thank you so much, that is really kind of you 🧵😊
Oh Carole, these days a thread cutter is a necessity not a luxury!
You are crazy! How did you crochet so many amazing items? Are any of them a favorite for your grandson?
I have no idea how I did all that crochet but I suppose because my daughter and her family lived away from us then, I had more time 🤣🤣 I went onto make many more of the octopuses as people kept on asking me to make them! The boys do love the Rudolph that comes out every year, the other things they don't really remember sadly.
Thanks for watching 🧵😊
I was surprised that Deb's Way is not coming back. Have not seen that on her videos. Do we know why?
@socarole66 ty! No the Fba was for me lol maybe being a knit it would be ok. Next time I'm in my fabric store I'll check it out. 🩷🇨🇦
The little bag is beautiful. Do you use a walking foot when stitching the faux leather ?
Thanks so much for your comment. I didn't use a walking foot on these as I had to use a zipper foot mainly. The normal foot did well on it thank goodness when I did the main seams. I am sure it would have been easier but I didn't find the need.
Happy Sewing 🧵😊
Do you have link to the pill box from Amazon please?
Hi, thanks for watching. I have put the link at the end of the description box. 🧵😊
Hey Carole, i heard you say you are in an orchestra ... which instrument do you play, im a left handed grade 8 violinist x
