My first trip out side of the US was while I was in the navy ( and we did a caribean cruise )went to Jamaica first then several other caribean islands ( I was on an air-craft carrier ) I was in culture shock at seeing blacks running things ( I'm a black male by the way ) and many wht people were getting kicked off Jamaica for rude and disrespectful behavior from our ship and from a nearby cruise ship. I wasn't surprised tho.And you know why. LOL.

There is a good and bad everywhere and that's just that...but if you could differentiate between the 54 african countries,you'd realise specific names keep popping up...personally,when I hear of a famine in Somalia,it doesn't surprise me...when I hear of a war in Congo,Sudan,Somalia...doesn't surprise me either...they've had these conditions even before I was born...however,I don't know much about west and Central Africa so I can't comment much on these regions...but generally east and south are mostly just okay...also,this video...the person might be upper middle class/middle middle class since building homes in Kenya is much cheaper than buying them.If the owner constructed the house,it's definitely upper/middle middle class...if it was bought,definitely a rich person.
When the comment went like...Africa is more than what the media shows,it meant there is a different side that's never shown...the side that's always shown is people starving and war...depending on which african country you come from,you probably can't relate...just like the west has for long been shown as a place where people live in mansions and drive luxurious cars but most people can't afford that lifestyle...globally,most people fall in between...not undergoing extreme conditions from poverty or wealth.

Guys and girls get your passport and go see some of this beauty around the world. Miami, California has nothing on being out the country. I've been around the world 3 times and every time I go somewhere while I'm there I'm already planning the next trip across the world. Believe it or it cheaper for you to go international than domestic flights, houses or hotels are better rates. The customer service is off the chain no matter where I've been. AGREED. I try to talk folks to travel out the US,but,most people don't want to leave their comfort zone. I just got back to america ( been back 1 yr and some change ) after 10 plus years working over-seas as a civilian contracter ( Qatar,Iraq,Kuwait & Afghanistan ) as a mercenary first,then switching to logistics. I didn't even want to come back to america,but,the US military got kicked outta Afghanistan,so the contracters had to bounce too !!! LOL. Man,we the contracters were pissed !!! Been gone from the US for a minute and things are still the same as when I left.

Coming from the Caribbean but residing in Florida for over 26 years I’ll have to say international flights cost way more money than domestic flights, although you may be in the air for the same amount of hours, these airlines are taking advantage especially when they know your options are limited and they have no competition
