Today I removed ceiling boards (天じょういた) in one room upstairs to inspect the roof beams. So dirty with many decades of dead insects, spider webs, old wasp nests, and dust. 梁 is giant, one big trunk of 杉. I think the roof framing is very strong, good because it snows alot. I will insulate the roof and leave the beams exposed but Polished and waxed.

かなりの積雪⛄ですか？。窓枠製作は西側の壁で、薄くないかな!?。断熱材は入れるんですよね！。北側の萱は草苔が繁殖で傷んできてますね💦。撥水してくれなくなった状態です😢。

そうなんです、屋根がかなり傷んできているので、今修理の見積り取ってます…😢

I also had a hard time cleaning the ceiling. There was a lot of dust that had accumulated for decades.
