The fact that this monologue could be put into comic book form, complete with rectangular thoughts boxes and sharply drawn panels, speaks to the amazing direction of this movie as a superhero film.
I hope we'll get the same with James Gunn's DCU Batman. Same goes for the cast as well, fr Pattinson's profile & jawline fits so perfectly for this character, same goes with the emotional eyes he does behind the cowl & that incredible Batman voice👌
Nothing has ever had in me in such suspense and anticipation as this movie. I was gripping my seat, my nails were digging into my thighs, within the first ten minutes I was already leaning forward in my seat. This scene is the best opener for a movie I’ve ever seen

One thing I really like and appreciate about this reboot was how we finally got a Batman movie where he gives a monologue like Rorschach and The Punisher. That's something I've always wanted to see in the live action films.
@@Pr0x1mo Yeah everyone forgets that Alan Moore and Frank Miller in the late 1980s were really doing satire of the vigilante but it looks so cool it went over nerds heads.

It's so cool to actually see an instance onscreen of Batman's very existence being enough to deter criminals. Even though we don't see him come for all of the criminals, the fact he MIGHT gets them all to stop what they're doing and run in fear
@@Addyson1991 while that scene does come to mind, i still think this sequence does a better job of capturing the sheer dread. The heavy black shadows, the freezing rain chilling your spine, the leery uncanny sounds, that trill trickling violin, the way that characters cant tear their eyes away from the darkness. As great as the Dark Knight was at establishing Batman's presence as a hero, this film excels at establishing him as a monster.
This is the first true *Batman* film. The others have their own qualities but nothing has nailed the character quite like this did. This opening monologue perfectly encapsulates the concept of Batman in just under 4 minutes. If you somehow had never heard of Batman or had a distorted view from the adaptations, this instantly catches you up to speed with the true vision of the bat.
This is a great representation of how the fear of Batman actually prevents crime....and then later in the movie we see the consequence in that it inspired the Riddler
Like yes he’s terrifying Gotham, but that’s a fear he’s instilling in both “evildoers” and “innocent” alike. This isn’t a hero, this is a bogeyman. Furthermore, he’s shown people who aren’t adverse to murder that you CAN make yourself the judge and jury to decide who is “evil,” with the added step of executioner. But given how on the edge this Batman is, he wasn’t that far from losing himself and becoming that, too. Just, all around excellent.
Thursday, October 31st. The city streets are crowded for the holiday. Even with the rain. Hidden in the chaos is the element, waiting to strike like snakes. And I'm there too. Watching. 2 years of nights have turned me into a nocturnal animal. I must choose my targets carefully. It's a big city. I can't be everywhere. But they don't know where I am. We have a signal now, for when I'm needed. When that light hits the sky, it's not just a call- it's a warning. To them. Fear is a tool. They think I'm hiding in the shadows. But I AM the shadows.

Journaling is a practice used for self reflection and analyzing personal situations. It makes you more self aware, and I love the fact that they have incorporated this in the film. This makes the personality of Bruce Wayne/Batman more relatable and believable. That is the reason, he is strategic and has clarity. I am surprised nobody pointed this out.
On top of that, it also gives the movie heavy ties to the graphic novels, as Batman’s internal dialogue is often used as the narrator for the story, especially in Batman: Year One, which this movie has some inspiration from
This is my favorite scene in any live action Batman movie ever. I remember sitting in the theaters and just sinking into this world and feeling like Batman was truly omnipresent. Such a great scene from such a great film.

This was a cinematic masterpiece. It makes the scene in The Dark Knight rises, where Bane exclaims that Batman merely adopted the darkness, SO much better. The shadows was Batmans greatest weapon against his enemies. But ironically, Batman had to use the light to overcome Bane, which is why he fought him during the day, it was symbolic and speaks to how we should live a life of balance between manifestations like light and dark, choas and order
On a scale of 1 to 10, ten being best..... How good would you think it could be if Matt Reeves introduced the Court of Owls ? Imagine what he could DO with them. Your thoughts.
Gotta say what I enjoy about this opening is that batman sounds kind of crazy. Watching in the theater I was just as uneasy as the criminals seeing the batsignal. When the guy he saves I'm the subway station says "don't hurt me" I was like "yeah I can buy that."
This is my favourite version of Batman because it perfectly captures the full concept of what Batman is supposed to be! Altho I love all the other adaptations of Batman we've seen, (except Batflick. Love the actor, think he would make a good Batman, but his Batman's writing was terrible.) none of them, live action or cartoon, tend to fully realise how TERRIFYING Batman is. Of course, we constantly see him being super intimidating and scaring criminals, but Batman is supposed to be more than that. He's not JUST intimidating, he's the mysterious omnipresent childhood monster under the bed come to life. The part man, part bat, unnatural creature that stalks it's prey and strikes with silent and deadly speed and brute force. He doesn't just scare or intimidate criminals, he makes them stay indoors from absolute terror, constantly paranoid from every movement in the corner of their eyes and the feeling of being watched by every shadow. This is the first Batman to really do that, and I love it!
I like how the drop head is rushing to see the signal thinking no no I don’t believe it and wham its there. He’s still in disbelief and just knows his night of fun is coming short and somewhere close by the big bad predator is on the prowl again.
