3:20 - Sir Kensington Avocado Oil as of July 2019 no longer has sugar in it. The entire label looks different, too.

I noticed this too! And I'm sad to say I don't like the taste as much now. Even though I'm keto- I'd actually prefer the tiny amount of sugar it had so I'd actually enjoy eating it. Now it makes me miss Dukes and I don't look forward to it. :(

For those that enjoy sir Kensington and want a sweetness to it, add a little PURE STEVIA POWDER sold by ccnature with the best price on eBay compared to Amazon. Incredible sweetness for the tiniest amounts… A small amount goes a very long way!

I did some research on Sir Kensington. Their Mayo has less than 1 gram of sugar per serving but they chose to round up, instead of down. I'm keto & I choose to use that Mayo bc I like the taste & it does not impact my ketosis.

Bobby, my mom was 2 generation here in US, her family was from Austria, she kept sauerkraut in the refrigerator and when we started to get sick or not feel well she would give us a tablespoon Morning and night. I really think it helped us get well faster, we really didn’t get sick a lot as kids. So thank you for showing the sauerkraut.

San Marzano tomatoes with the DOP label are grown in the San Marzano region. Those are not grown in the San Marzano Region since there is no DOP label. They are just of the San Marzano variety of tomato.

Yeast extract alone is not a reason to reject a food product. Yeast extract is very high in B vitamins, so it’s a cheap source of these vitamins. Yeast extract does contain naturally occurring glutamates, but not as much as MSG. Only small amounts of yeast extract are used in foods, so if you are sensitive to MSG it would be hard to eat enough to cause a reaction. The small amounts that are added to food don’t alter their sodium content significantly.

Awesome video with great buying tips! I recently decided to buy an Executive membership and so happy I did. I needed new tires and bought a set of four all seasons Michelins and saved $150, essentially paying for three tires and getting one free. I also bought several items including a meat loaf/mashed potatoes dinner. It was delicious! The cilantro shrimp tray was incredible as well. As a care giver buying meals like these saves me time and effort; and money as well. I'll still shop at Walmart and my local Food Lion for fresh vegetables. Now I realize why so many shoppers read the labels and I'll start doing it as well. I'll have to write your recipes down. I do a lot of overland camping and one of my favorite activities during my outings is to experiment with foods. I'm glad I found your videos...very enjoyable and Art does a great job with the camera, great team you two!

I'm a Costco member and I love a deal as much as anyone else. That said, our farmers in the U.S. are hurting badly. Between the flooding, the high cost of seeds and fertilizer and the like and getting so little money for their products, rural America is drowning (literally and figuratively). People are losing their farms. Huge corporate farms (that allow the large scale production that gives us these absurdly low prices) are driving people off their family farms . And our food quality suffers in the long haul because once there are monopolies, if you don't like the food quality, you will have no other choices. Dairy farmers are seeing records numbers of farmer deaths by suicide as milk prices get cheaper and places like WalMart and Costco monopolize processing and sales as well. It's truly a crisis in the entire Midwest and elsewhere.
Whenever possible, I would encourage everyone to please consider shopping your local Farmer's Markets if you can and/or buying local products if stocked at your stores. Many now take food assistance cards as well!

Great video. The only thing that would make it better if you talked about products with less packaging/ trash waste/ landfill/ plastics. Cans and glass products are highly recyclable and you do mention a few of those--so thanks.

Hi how are you? I love your channel I have been following for a month and I love the exquisiteness with which you cook and how delicious it is to delight each dish in truth it is a delicacy of the gods. I know I am Mexican and I would love for your channel to also be in Spanish because the Hispanic community likes this lifestyle since there are no channels that also detail the listings and the products that should be consumed. Thank you

Saw your show today with the wife for the first time . Absolutely love it . Already subscribed. Keep up the excellent work . This type of reporting will prove to be catalyst for companies to be forced to change the poison there peddling to the uninformed public .

Hello there, I am getting a lot of information from your videos, thank you!
I have heard that Keto should not be a long term diet, what are your thoughts?

    • @womanofacertainage5892
      @womanofacertainage5892 5 років тому +1

I'm obviously not Bobby but I believe someday people will look back on this like we do on the 1980s "low or no fat" craze. That wasn't healthy for a lot of reasons and I don't think (for me anyway) that Keto is either.
I agree with Michael Pollan -- he said "eat real food, mostly plants, not too much." I think that's solid advice. Veggies and some fruits in abundance and then a balanced and moderate approach to protein and grains, beans, etc. is what I strive for. Obviously if you have celiac disease, then no gluten and if you're diabetic, then a different approach may work better .

I've learned a bit over the last 8-9 yrs about ingredients to avoid and such. Now, I will say that some people don't feel they can afford even the best prices you find on items. But I'm curious to do a month's haul of groceries utilizing your ideas.. and since I don't have a trader Joe's near me (though I wish I did), could you possibly do a video for best items at Kroger?

You could do a grocery shopping video every day and I would watch every one! Have you ever heard of Wegmans? Maybe go there next!?

Good stuff....and definitely will be looking closer at the labels as I shop Costco in the future....don't need those extra ingredients which serve no purpose....but could use more vegan products in my local store....and the suggestion is in the box.

Also, yeast extract contains glutamates, just like the natural glutamate in bone broth and aged cheeses. However, it also contains other compounds that contribute to its unique flavor. MSG, on the other hand, is a highly concentrated, synthetic and processed form of glutamic acid. So yeast extract isn’t necessarily MSG.

As usual, great video. 🤗I had a question about the tomatoes. I read that you should always make sure that the can says “BPA” free. What are you thoughts?

    • @jamespatrick5348

your comment is super important because tomatoes contain acid which eat away at the can.

San marzano tomatoes are great, as much as possible buy in bottles or Tetra pack, as acid in tomatoes react to a tin can.

Hey, I love this channel. One can you do a video on your thoughts about supplements: vitamins.
    Why you think it’s crap?
    What’s the alternative?
Detail on what vitamins that you would take once in a while besides Vitamin C.
Just an idea for a future video.
You help me change my diet somewhat.
