We have a '57 4 door saloon. Completely original, never restored, engine's never been out. It is THE most reliable car we own, and that includes two "moderns". It is also the cheapest of our cars to service - with practically all the required work able to be done in one's own garage with hand tools. As my English friends say: "you have to love a Morris Minor - it does what it says on the tin".
the small brass pipe from the carb back to the petrol tank had totally seized up/corroded so i ran a pipe from the carb into a petrol can sitting on the front seat, health and safety would love that. grary
Yeah, front trunions collapsing, electric fuel pump packing in at any time, faulty gearboxes, rotting chassis. Today's cars are far better in every way.
Haha! Those fuel lines are bad hey, we recently restored our one - mechanical fuel pumps are amazing things! I've posted up some videos of our Morris if you want to check it out.
