You are correct about the Ideal Cinema being started by Mr Bird.That was my uncle and my mother also sold Ice Creams there as well.The cinema was short lived as far as I can remember being told.
It is a shame I could not find out more about the place - a photo of the exterior and interior when it was operating would have been great.
I think anyone who has worked in the cinema game has had the best & happiest time ever, I know I did

If only I had a time machine...if only!!
