That's about $163,000⁰⁰ for every year that he has been alive. I think that's a value compared to what he has given amd the lives he has changed for the better.
The housing issue mostly boils down to "not in my back yard" mentality. I've been in the construction industry for 25 years. In principle, virtually everyone is in favor of allowing the construction of 1000-1500 sq. ft. houses. HOWEVER, many of the loudest supporters of "affordable housing" don't want those houses built anywhere near their own. The people who own a $400,000-700,000 house would scream bloody murder if they found out plans had been approved for a group of 20 houses in the $150,000 range to be built within half a mile of their house. And an apartment complex might as well be a toxic waste dump if you see the reaction of homeowners in the area. "My property value!!!" they'd scream - "Not in my back yard!!!" It's even worse in wealthier parts of any town, where the rich make sure that zoning areas are off limits to smaller homes or businesses. That's why the US is full of subdivisions where each demographic has specific price bracketed areas. A large percentage of Americans have to drive 10 minutes away even to find a cup of coffee or restaurant. The US is averse to "mixed-use zoning" where houses and businesses are mixed together. You usually only find such areas in older towns and cities (pre-1960s).
Anyone who gets paid with public money should not be allowed collective bargaining. With the teachers' union, costs have doubled while results are halved. Teachers' unions prevent reforms. Teachers' unions fight to keep unqualified, and even dangerous, teachers on the payrolls. Teachers's union donate heavily to the Democrat Party which does everything it can to uphold the power to the teachers's unions. For a good example, the ongoing battle over education in Chicago where the whole board resigned in protest of the mayor's desire to increase spending on a failed education system. The future prosperity and freedoms enjoyed in this country require educated people with critical thinking skills. The teachers's unions are against education unless it to 'groom' sexual perversions on their students.
Has anyone ever filled out a form requiring them to designate their race? How about the way politicians seem to campaign in some manner to promote an agenda according to the racial group they are talking too. If race was not systematic, then why are people systematically asked about which race they are apart of?
Do you know WHEN those began to be required? And by who? And the reason given? It was due to CLAIMS that without those labels the govt couldn't verify if different subgroups were being treated the same as everyone else. In everything from employment and schooling to arrests to medical care etc etc. Problem is ..... Turned out that unfair treatment was very localized and isolated. And frequently what seemed biased treatment was in fact just a poorer area, and everyone in it was treated worse than- and just happened to be majority one ethnicity.
My milkman asks me to fill out a form to specify which type of milk I want. Does that mean there's 'lactophobes' systematically discriminating against certain types of milk? Or do we just live in a world with different types of milk, and different races?
