I didn’t know Jeux d’eau was playable on harp this is miraculous!! This piece has been my go to for years, I accidentally became obsessed after hearing how Ravel would describe the sound he wanted to his pupils. The pale, detached echo of water droplets coming from the main motif is such a lovely and inspiring challenge to me for some reason. I’ll be coming back to your performance for reference and inspiration, thanks for your hard work and artistry! This piece really suits the harp better than piano.
This is the best harp transcription of a solo piano work I've ever had the pleasure of hearing! Your feet were practically dancing on the pedals, and the way you pulled off the "tremolo" at 3:00 put a huge smile on my face! Excellent performance, Anne-Sophie!
Ideal for listening at eventide of a summer's end , just after an intense but brief rain, when the last lights of the day, multiplies itself into the last drops of rain..
Wow, what an amazing transcription you've made! While Jeux d'eau is quite difficult for piano, I can't imagine how difficult this must be on the harp. Your transcription is so excellent that it sounds like Ravel wrote it originally for harp. And you play it so flawlessly! Brava!
Thank you very much for your message. It is always a challenge to adapt such incredible repertoire because it is so well thought for the piano. Best wishes, Anne-Sophie
I'm a 10+ years experienced harp player and I'm totally sure this piece is a nightmare to learn (and play). You did an extraordinary job here, I'm beyond impressed! 👏
as someone who's learning this on the piano right now it feels weird hearing this while getting flashed memories of me practicing on the piano, but i'm trying to focus on your playing because it's impressive
This performance is so natural and pristine. The piece is already elegant enough for piano, I think the Harp, Violin and Flute are the few other instruments that can match it's quality. I think I've found my new alarm tone- would love to wake up to this every morning :)
Simply marvelous! Such a magical piece performed on a magical sounding instrument like the harp is a most exquisite combination! I can't help but feel as though I am watching ripples in the water of a nearby lake on a lovely and warm summer afternoon! Thank you for this amazing cover!
Lovely performance. It reminds me of how alike the piano and the harp can be. Icelanders even nickname the piano, "slagharpa", (struck harp!). I have to play this piece on a Steinway concert grand tomorrow evening, and I'm going to try and make it sound like this. On the score, Ravel quoted from a poem by Henri Regnier: "The river god laughing at the water that tickles him", and that's what you conjure up so well. Thank you for the inspiration!
Incredible. I would not have thought it could be done. I love all the little tricks and hand-switches you use. Ravel would be proud. (Decades-long Ravel lover here!) I noticed at 1:36 you have the left hand play the top line, just like in the original!
I've played Jeux d'eau on the piano. It's *HARD* . I cannot even imagine playing it on a harp -- but this is a very faithful transcription which sounds like Ravel actually wrote it for the harp; and you play this piece with such poise and accuracy. I'd love to discover your secret of playing the bitonal passage at 4:30!
There is a musical joke that says harpists spend half of the time tuning and the other half playing out of tune. But your intonation is absolutely stunning. You can't be spending 90% of your time tuning because your phrasing and general interpretation are unmatched. I'm at a loss.
Omagoodness, as we say in the US south... I will NEVER again complain about chromaticism at the piano after seeing how quickly you had to change pedals in this transcription. And yes, a number of people could be fooled into thinking this piece was originally written for harp rather than keyboard. Congratulations!
Thank you so much! It took months to find the pedal combinations so it is still easier on.the Piano.. Regardless, I am touched by the marvellous compliments after this video which give me motivation to achieve new transcriptions. Stay tuned:)
Fabulous! I can't imagine how this is even possible. I'm very familiar with this piece (on piano). And I've written music for harp, so I had to learn a few things to do it. I can only shake my head in amazement at anyone who can tackle such a piece and come out smiling. I'm curious to know who did the arrangement for harp. It wasn't Ravel himself, was it?
As an idea -- you might want to transcribe Ravel's "Sonatina" for harp. In my mind's ear, I can hear it being played on harp; and while very difficult, I don't think it would be impossible to play on harp. I would think the third movement would be extremely effective.
Great idea, I will try. There is a trancription from the Sonatine from Carlos Salzedo and Skaila Kanga, bothe for trio (Flute, Celloa or Viola and Harp)
Is this a Camac Oriane? Very curious about what you're playing to make this sound extraordinarily beautiful, but I'm having a hard time identifying. Thanks in advance for your help, and sorry if I'm on the wrong track!
You make it sound so natural -- almost as if it had been originally written for the harp. Thank you for this marvelous rendition.
Thank you ❤
Amazingly beautiful! If only Ravel could have heard this.
This performance achieves better musicality and expression than any of the piano performances out there. I'm mesmerized by it.
Jeux d'eau really fits well with Harp
oh my god so magical the harp version
I’m totally speechless, you’re so talented. I wish I could play harp and play Ravel’s and Debussy’s arts. Beautifully performed!
Thank you so much!
Ravel snaps at any instrument. I can't imagine how difficult and fun that must have felt!
Made me shred a tear. Beautiful transcription, Ravel would've loved seeing this for sure!
Wow, thank you!

I played this for one my undergrad concerts. I guess it's harder on the harp, but in this performance this piece sounds absolutely brilliant!
Impressive and so beautiful
INCREDIBLE

Awesome!!! I have realized that harp can produce more of the image of water fountain.
Hope you can transcript Jeux d'eau villa d'este, too.

Amazing so inspiring
I feel like I am in a beautiful and mystical musical labyrinth of Debussy she plays with exquisite skill
Wow this is incredible
Hey! This piece is absolutely beautiful on harp. Have you performed Ravel’s Ondine as well?
Epic
This seems much harder on a harp than a piano and you play it so well
Fabulous! I can't imagine how this is even possible. I'm very familiar with this piece (on piano). And I've written music for harp, so I had to learn a few things to do it. Hello, thanks you for your appreciation!
I did the arrangement à few years ago
This somehow seems way more suited for the piece, eventhough l imagine pedalizing this with harp is super hard 😅
It is indeed! Of course, you will never get the same easyness as on the piano. It is just an other version of this amazing music.
As an idea -- you might want to transcribe Ravel's "Sonatina" for harp. In my mind's ear, I can hear it being played on harp; and while very difficult, I don't think it would be impossible to play on harp. I would think the third movement would be extremely effective.

mt top
As a pianist I feel a little sheepish to say this sounds much better on the harp - probably because Ravel wrote many harp-like configurations into it
Is there anywhere this arrangement is published?
I hope soon
How can I find sheet music for this specific transcription ??
Hi, I have to write it down! I will let you know:)) thank you for the appreciation
