Booker T does not showboat. He needs no fireworks, or artificial mist, just his organ. The master shows up, nods politely and goes to work. All he does is send magical echoes vibrating through the decades. He defines the word "awesome."
Every time I watch this this, which is a lot, I enjoy your great comment. That is one sweet organ.
That's not just "an organ"....it's "The Mighty....Hammond B3"!
Classic down 10 through Arizona 🌟 moonlight
Booker T and Leslie with help from Hammond. Absolutely amazing.
My god this is soooo gooood. I'm a 58 year young Kiwi [New Zealander] and I've always loved Booker T & The MGs ever since first listening to them on the TV here in New Zealand in the 1970s - there was an interlude on TV and it featured a Ford Model T Bucket V8 Street Machine cruising along a country road somewhere in New Zealand and the music accompanying it was Booker T & The MGs; 'Time is Tight'. Back to this vid - how good is the solo lead axe work here around 5:05 by either Vernon Black or Ted Jones - sorry I don't know which dude. But man is it so superb! Great rendition of Hang 'Em High gentlemen thank you to uploader randallstaffordcook greatly appreciated sir.
Yeah mate I'm a Kiwi too. Love this number. Love Green Onions also. I was in a band in Wellington in the late 60s. Our organist/keyboards player loved playing this. He didn't have the Hammond so the sound was nothing like Booker Ts
When music was real. Omg this was done perfectly. Booker t, love you man.
Been a fan since the early Sixties CLASS ACT!
What a DEAAD crowd, then again, it is Toronto.. If at the True International Jazz Fest in Montreal, they would have roared LOUDLY..
It is a great thrill to be hearing such legends at their best.
always fun to listen to
Can't touch this one of a kind..real music gonna last a lifetime..Booker T. Jones of the MG's..shout to Newt Collier of Sam&Dave fame.
Seen him last night in Aspen Colorado. Two thumbs up. Way Way Up.
Booker T. Jones - "Wow!" I'm A Fan. Jonny Weiss "Lonesome Cowboy" UA-cam Music Video filmed in Arizona. I was A Cowboy there. I carried A Smith & Wesson Pistol. 🎶 I gotta Fender Strat.
Booker T's Hammond sounds amazingly good compared to most. He sets the sound up so meticulously.
LEGENDARY STUFF!
A True Legend fits here!
One of the best entertainers of all time..
LEGEND TOP MAN GENIUS ALL TIME? IT'S NOT OVER UNTIL THE FAT LADY...LMFBO
such a great song
The climatic keyboard riff was a melody taken from 'And the Address' by Deep Purple, released 3 months prior to Hang 'em High.
Listen to Deep Purple's song for the riff at 1.34, 2.01, 3.02 and 4.01, all done by guitar. The studio recording of Hang 'em High plays the same riff 6 times 0.33, 1.02, 1.31, 1.59, 2.27, 2.55, and sounds fantastic in the way each climax get stronger and stronger from 1st to 6th, with a beautiful crisp keyboard sound.
Praise to Booker T & The MG's for making this fantastic Score in the movie Hang em High.
listened to both songs back to back, don't see it!

Excellent 🎶🎶🎶
