Love the reviews man very insightful. Great taste in knives. From popular to rare to custom. I’m a Spyderco guy myself but the bugout has always called to me. I’ve owned a base tagged out but gave it to a friend as a house warming gift. Tempted on the luxe one after your review of it but still waiting on my 1 perfect benchmade for the collection lol Thanks for this review and keep going!
I have a decent size collection that includes the m390/aluminum bug out. I have tried to move on from it but always come back. It checks all the boxes that matter to me. Another great review. I think you maybe undervaluing it. Its main intent was to set a standard on ease of carry. The fact that it is so much more robust and so well rounded while meeting the main intent makes it pretty impressive to me. At least my version. The value point is always a sticking point with Benchmade but not as big a delta to others as in the past.
Good review. I hate flex so the only Bugout I bought was the aluminum/m390 version on a sale. It’s cool but I don’t use it. I much prefer the aluminum bailout. Bugouts have to be tuned juuuust right to get good action without blade play. If a knife has any blade play, I just won’t use it. Dumb thing but it’s just me.

It’s a great knife but it has always been a starter knife made for most of the population. Once you get one you start looking at other better knives 😂
So true.
