Hello!
I'm actually a new subscriber
And I need some help on strengthening my hip flexor and my hamstring because mine is flexible but ain't strong
If I jog a long time, both of my hip flexors and hamstring weakens thus forcing me to stop and then jog once I take a rest
Clearly explained, thank you
Welcome!
I have had hip problems FOR YEARS!!!!!!! (while running) I even had to do some walking in my MARATHON because the pain got so bad. Garmin lets me know what my stride length was... and boy was I shocked.... to find out my stride length running my fastest run time... was 3.97 FEET. No wonder I have hip problems... ''putting on the break'' is probably the best way to describe it. I've been working on cadence and tryin to work on picking up my feet faster.. I can feel my stride shortening.. sure enough... focusing on my cadence alone.. my stride is now... 2.89 feet. WOW what a difference! I've got a lot of things to work on!!! I'm shooka shocked!! Great video!
Thank you for sharing your experience. It's eye-opening to see how stride length and cadence can impact both sprinting and running form (and health). Focusing on cadence is a great strategy, that is great to hear how much it has improved your running and health.
A trick I used to do was pushing down through my big toe. It helped keep my foot strike beneath my hips. Now it’s muscle memory
Thanks!!! Can't wait for more💯
Amen!!!! Never heard such a clean explanation. Thank you!!
Ive seen all of your videos, and these shorts are 🔥
Appreciate it!
This channel is a goldmine aghhh
I believe past injuries muscular imbalance and poor core activation causes these issues. I've actually had these issues. Makes the difference between me running a 4.4 or a 4.2 40yard dash.
Most defienlty 100%. In track my form was good but couples years later working certain jobs and getting injured in college. Caused imbalances from the hip all the way to the foot. stretching and working on hip flexors is key.
You aint runnin 4.2 .😅
This makes so much sense. Thanks for this and the numerous other videos.
You're very welcome!
This was very helpful. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Worst thing about being a millennial is that I JUST missed out on having all this amazing advice on social media when I was young.
🤣
This content is just unbelievably good ❤
Appreciate it!
key point - the foot has to remain on the ground the least amount possible.
you got it!
Thanks! 🙏
Good stuff! Thank you!
You're welcome!
I always wondered this thing 😂😂😂 .. thank you so much man
Happy to help!
Jacobs runs like when ur short pink shoes 11 seconds runner pretented to overstride
Jacobs has the best running form in history of sprinting
Thank you sir for you information
Welcome!
I'm definitely gonna look at this
There is a difference between foot placement (Braking vs Propulsion) and length. You are describing foot contact, however you could still have good foot placement but lack power, lack stiffness or not have the right ratio of horizontal to vertical forces. correct step length is an anthropometric value which differs across various sports.
Thank you sir 😢
Most welcome
Thnk u so much sir ❤❤
Most welcome
I'm black I once observed a white boy, beat every black guy on the track. And he was basically just jumping 🦘 into another jump, into another jump. He was basically exaggerating his stride.
Yeah he also was stronger and more powerful than them
I was getting injuries my cadence was 145-150, i corrected it to 170-175 now i got no injuries and can run more efficiently faster n longer and im striking mid feet under the hip, everything auto corrected.
this videos worth its weight in gold
Congrats🎉 congratulation Paige said
👍👍👍
Great content. Is that stride only for sprinter or marathoner as well sir?
I believe longer enough stride x cadence = speed
Thanks! Landing underneath the hips also applies to distance running. There is a balance between stride length and stride frequency. You want long strides but not by reaching and landing in front of the hips.
Is video recording yourself sprinting the only way to determine this?
effectively yes. You don’t don’t a crazy tripod or anything just need to be able to see the mid to lower of your body moving in the sprint
There is no such thing as too long of a stride length. But you are correct sir landing in front or back of your hips instead of under your hips kills speed. When I was young I ran 6.24 in the 55m but lost too much speed the last 45m due to this issue.
How to prevent hitting the ground in front of the hips?
There are a lot of great drills that help, check out this video we posted on pre acceleration drills ua-cam.com/video/U0JjbMMTOmw/v-deo.html
Wickets are also great.
Tq soo much sir, so please tell me 100mts pro tips and Techinics. Please sir....

thanks a lot
I have question for Outperform . is hurdle exercises important for increase speed in 100m ?
Could you help me please ?
Absolutely. Hurdle drills are fantastic at developing hip flexor strength which is key to running fast. They are the 1 drill that Olympic sprint coach Ken Harnden wishes all of his athletes did before joining his program. Check out the 4th tip in this video starting at 4:24 ua-cam.com/video/eL4kArsZ57I/v-deo.html
@@OutperformOfficial Thank you a lot .I love your channel and my speed increase also I learn a lot of drills in this channel. Could you make video about hurdles drills please ?
Thank you, that's great to hear. We'll add it to our list.
Cadence may measure the distance coz its virtually impossible to see if you land under the hip while running unless you videotape.
What if it's behind the hip, is that ok? Or is this what is called a negative move? I hope to answer my question and thank you in advance sir
Maybe ever so slightly. Too much could cause issues with center of mass and falling forward. This could cascade to other parts of the body and interfere with stride length and torso position.
But most of the world class athletes have their foot infront of their hips including usain bolt the world record holder
When an athlete wants to slow down what do they do? Land in front of their hips.
Bolt definitely lands underneath his COM.
You can experiment with this for yourself, try it both ways and if done correctly you should feel the difference.
As with any sprinting advice you see online remember what Bruce Lee said "Absorb what is useful, discard what is not, and add what is uniquely your own."
God bless prayers all glory to God
Can these techniques be applied on a football/soccer pitch
On grass / heavy mud, in boots
Yes, although not sure about running in heavy mud with boots
@OutperformOfficial by boots he means cleats. Boots is what they call them outside of the US I think
@@piggy6801 yeah the soccer boots that have studs on them for mud.
Definitely not cowboy boots lolol
Speed is good for any sport! Grass low-cut grass is very good for speed training.
Is this true for endurance running or just for sprinting? Any tips for 10-20 mile jog?
Yes, you always want to land underneath the hips
How do I fix this?
I have a speedy high school junior girl who does exactly that yet still runs 12.54 100m
She might sprint low 11’s if fixed
Im not a coach but what about high knees, running in place...?
Sounds like she has a lot of potential. You want to incorporate drills that train the nervous system to land underneath the hips so it becomes automatic. You can start with marching drills, A-skips, wall drills etc. Then moving on to drills like wickets with a 10m run in and progressing up to 30m. Very effective forced mechanics drill. If you don't have mini hurdles you can use tape or paint sticks on the track.
@@OutperformOfficial I feel groovy now because those are exactly what we’ve been introducing to the regiment. Season is over now but I hope to keep her in the training loop over summer. I’ll update you on progress. Thx
I think my stride has been too long
How to hve min contact time with grnd ?? Any drills / progression??
How do we fix overstriding?
Since you can't think your way through the sprint you need to do drills that wire the nervous system to land properly. A Skips are a great start. Check out this video we did on acceleration drills ua-cam.com/video/U0JjbMMTOmw/v-deo.html
Wich one is good?
The one where he lands under the hips, not in front.
How do i know if it is too short
So your meant to lane ever so slightly Infront of the hip?
You want to land directly underneath hip, body lean should be very minimal during upright sprinting, at a ~45° out of the blocks.
i want exercise for speed

Please tell in hindi sir 😢😢😢😢
or you can do like the Jamaicans and sprint on a hill
sprinting up hills are great, just be careful on the decline.
@Outperform I feel like we Americans make this stuff so complicated with all this science....the Jamaicans don't teach the runner rather they teach the runners body how to run...the best way to do this is hill sprints bare foot
How to fix your stride length if it isn't correct?
Drills that train the body to land underneath the COM, also things like wickets, even resisted sprints when done properly will help.
sir pls tell me the height of that guy
pls sir
sir what is your height sjr
