I was incorrect about Wolf plus Lockjaw. Sometimes Wolf moves. It currently depends on which was played first (which I assume is a bug), but so long as you play Wolf and THEN Lockjaw, Wolf will move to the Lockjaw path.
I don't think it's a bug, that's how I expected it to work after seeing him not move the first time on stream.. Since Lockjaw and Werewolf both check "after" a card is played, they check in the order they were played themselves (similar to multiple Captain Marvel check after the game, or Marvel with Mysterio and/or Dracula).
If Werewolf checks first he sees the card, if Lockjaw goes first then there's no card left for Werewolf to check
@@stiggy1605I was gonna reply the same thing. It kinda makes sense, but is SUPER unintuitive.
I suspect Wolf will end up with the same Nerf as Lockjaw eventually. Enjoy his golden season.
That last opponent was absolutely cooking with their turn 6 play
I learned the hard way that Werewolf doesn't jump over to Luke's Bar as well. That one stung.
why doesn't he if he can jump into death domain?
@@areyanceJr hmm my guess is that said On Reveal card has to be in play for Werewolf to move. It's my educated guess from what Jeff said in the video and this post here.
edit: I forgot I did see Werewolf get in to death's domain live, my apologies 😆
@@areyanceJr
That's the question, isn't it? Might be a bug.
Honestly, your deck-building sense is amazing. I loves seeing old Hoogland favorites revamped and updated!
An interesting interaction I discovered is that Rogue will only move Werewolf if she doesn’t have a power to steal. I assume this is because if she steals a power she no longer has her on reveal when Werewolf checks. An interesting little wrinkle I didn’t expect
Ran this Deck yesterday when u were Live, super fun man. Great stuff as always Jeff!
Watching Jeff get excited about cards makes me excited about cards
I had to play some shuri red skull to calm down.
Sweet games! Appreciate you including the losses you learn from and odd interactions, too! Thanks for the video.
Instantly one of the highest ceiling 3-drops. I'm scared his power will be on the chopping block before too long, but for now he's a helluva lot of fun.
probably going to be 3/5 +1 in a future patch
Just a guess but I suspect they will limit him to 1 move per turn.
@@mysleadI could see that coming to fruition. But I think that we could consider the fact that he could turn into a 4 cost with the same ability and stat line. Doesn’t sound like much but look at mobius, he’s rarely played because he’s a 3 cost now
@@PokemonGo-nf2nythat’s probably the better nerf then what I said 😂😂
I really like your videos, no shi**ty introductions to every card. Straight to the gameplay and brief explanations
This intro was actually on the longer side for me. Typically, I try to keep them under 2 minutes, but I had extra to say with the new card.
In general, I'll try never to waste your time here, though.
That last game was super sweet by the opponent!
Cool list. Made a 3 drop, wolf, movement deck that wasnt bad, but this deck seems funner and ive been wanting to use lockjaw lately
Great video, awesome brew! I really like that you included a loss.
Yooo I’ve been trying High Evo wasp with WW as well!! I included Shocker for more Evo value, as he’s the other on reveal. WW is a ton of fun and I like this playstyle more than Elsa Bloodstone.
Same.
Hey Jeff, I was playing this list earlier and the wolf did jump into my lockjaw path after playing wasp there so it does work how it should
Must be bugged / inconsistent then because we had a game on stream where it didn't happen. In this video I believe as well.
@@HooglandiaSnapmaybe only when you flip into another on reveal?
Seems like it should regardless but just speculation on the bug.
It's inconsistent for me. It jumps to lockjaw lane sometimes or it doesnt
May depend on if you play werewolf first or lockjaw first
I’ve also had wolf jump into the lockjaw path when playing wasp.
I wanna try the dekster or tlsg list but use kraven to make his movement part have synergy. Like a bounce werewolf type of deck
Just beat infinity conquest with this deck, thanks Jeff!!!
First game...I think I would have played Hulk BEFORE the Widow's Bite, in case you hit Nico and a bad effect (Demon or Draw 2). Small chance, but could be played around.
Loved the last game
I really like that you included a loss as well 😁
In my voice deck, I turned Bast into a demon and he didn't jump to the bast. Something to watch for.
I got a bug where my lockjaw pulls can become invisible. I think this has been in there awhile and it even pulled werewolf so i had an invisible werewolf getting buffs funny but confusing. Wonder if it was invisible to my opponent as well?
18:01 I had to return to normal playback speed to confirm
is that godforsaken mjolnir on reveal finally sped up ?
finally we are graced by such a great qol change
Yeeeep!
so he got to move in order to get the +2 right ?
on reveal on his location does nothing as I understand it
Correct.
Another video, another card Jeff has convinced me to pull for
Last game was beautiful
Hey Jeff, I'm curious, does the three 3 cost cards that want to be played early feel cluncky together? What should I prioritize?
Really just depends on context. Wolf is generally ideal first, but not always.
WWBN first most likely. Then if you have Jane, Thor may be 2. I still prefer to get Thor out over Lockjaw, but I prefer the Hit Monkey style of this deck so I may be leaning on that. See game 2 3:15 for Jeff's play with his 3 drops in hand.
Hi Jeff, what would you suggest as a substitute for Nico? Iceman? Snowguard?
He mentions in the deck tech that if you don't have Spider-Ham or Nico just replace it with another cheap on Reveal like Ice Man or Korg
Thanks mate...have to admit I've watched the video on mute 😅
I’m don’t have a 100% understanding of when and why Werewolf by Night triggers on on reveals played in to lockjaw, but after seeing you play this on stream I played for an hour or so with the deck and was able to consistently trigger his move and +2 while playing cards into lockjaw. I think there is a chance that he triggers if he was played before lockjaw but not after. As to why that would be, I have no idea but it definitely does work sometimes and that’s all I could come up with. Either way I had a bunch of fun so thanks for the deck
I kind of love the wolf animation lol.
I didn’t think to play Werewolf with High Evo but this May be the first high Evo deck i like. 😮
This was my take as well: an Evo deck that isn't boring and linear
@@thespider817 exactly this. I got Evo like a month ago, tried it and my opinion on it playing it was the same as playing against it. However Werewolf is such a fun card as it is it makes me look forward to trying this
Hey Jeff, the decklist in the description is for another one
Fixed
What can i use instead of spider ham and nico minoru?
Listening to the deck intro.
@@HooglandiaSnap Oops, my bad🤣, i put iceman and yondu soo almost that what you said :)
Werewolf won't trigger if you turn your On Reveal card into a Demon with Nico.
Game one, nico into destroy hulk would have been bad, right?
Yep. Sometimes lucky.
If lockjaw hit minoru into the demon card, the hulk play would've been risky but its a 1/7 after a 1/3 from lockjaw pulls
Another interaction to note. Wolf will jump to rofue if she doesnt have an ongoing to steal or can't trigger her on reveal.
He won't jump if she actually does trigger her on reveal and turns into an ongoing
Since November is pretty light I might burn my last 4 caches for him
How often do you find yourself playing Lockjaw?
Last game was sick
Weird interaction. Wolf won’t jump to mystique if she successfully copies another card. But he will if she doesn’t copy anything. Is this a bug or intended?
Intended
11:22 doom has voice lines now? Sheesh.
Faster mjolners too? Damn
Lotta good QOL in this patch.
@@HooglandiaSnap time to start snapping again then hehe
what can replace nico
is he worth 6k tokens though?
Nothing is worth 6k.
I feel ges gonna get nerfed with how easy it is just to get to 7 power which is tied to maximus. I think even if he was +1 per on reveal he would still be really good
Maximus is a one-off card you can just play. You have to build around Werewolf. Thor can be a 3/10 or 3/16 if you double the hammer, collector can be a 2/12, Vulture can be 3/18 with iron fist, ghost spider, heimdall, or doctor strange. Werewolf is probably fine, I doubt it needs much of a change.
@@Erzz197 No...
I, for one, appreciate videos where you lose a game. I know it doesn’t equate to more clicks on your videos, but a good game lost highlighting the new card on both sides is value for me.
i swear luke cage is everywhere 💀
I was using the Kingpin Nimrod deck you showcased (minus Nico) and the opponent's Werewolf moved to the Kingpin location on turn 6 (they played Alioth there). That swing won me the game lmao.
Wolf is insane, he's definitely going to get nerfed to +1 or 3/2 with +1
No nerf needed
U guys need go stop
People love making gut reaction hot takes.
It's been less than 24 hours. Let it shake out.
Why +1? Maybe a 3/1 with the same ability.
My reason being there's already bishop which is a 3/1 with a +1 with any card. Plus, it also means that u cannot fulfill one location if u have that card and want to buff it
Is this worth a spotlight cache attempt if you are S3 complete, don't need Silk or Ghost Spider and only have a handful (7-8) of Spotlight Keys? There are some intriguing cards coming out over the next month. I'll be burning 4 during Firestar week since I don't have any of them.
This is always such a hard question to answer. It depends so much on your collection and the kinds of decks you like to play. I'd say wait 2-3 days and see what people come up with. Waiting is annoying but you'll make a much more informed decision when hype dies down.
@@wrkahlAgreed and understood. I don't play much move, but I like silver surfer. But, Jeff's deck here looks fun to try. If we don't pick it up this week, it's basically waiting until Jan. 30 when it shows up again. The random S4/5 card you get in cache is such a low probability for players in later stage that you can almost assume it's going to give you 1k tokens. This probability is only getting worse as no cards are being downgraded and the S4/5 card population grows. Thanks for your opinion.
I'm in the same boat, for now I will wait and see. Tempting to get werewolf.
If you pulled Nico i think wolf is a good pick up, they go together in a bunch of decks.
You're gonna be getting 6 keys by the time Firestar comes around. With how many keys you already have now, I would say pull for Werewolf since hes quite versatile.
cheers!
First?! Looking forward to opening this now!
alright he's generating too much power let's make him 3/4 +1 per trigger
I think thats gonna be the Werewolf by Night nerf. That the On Reveal has to trigger for him to move
Wrong deck in the description. 👍
Fixed
Nerf incoming
Werewolf by night definitely moves to the lockjaw lane aslong as there is a space and conditions are met
Except that he doesn't as shown in 18:53
@@KevmeisterB386He definitely does, but the interaction depends on whether you play werewolf first or lockjaw first
@@KevmeisterB386I did see the gameplay, not sure why or what caused that to happen. All I can say is in the games I have played he moves to the lockjaw lane
@@Trakz88 Ah so a priority thing, thank you
I don’t have spiderham~ What can I use instead?🥲
